~Sole~ 852 June 23, 2013 Share June 23, 2013 In all honesty, I liked him better when he was pixelated, he looked much better. But betwen these two looks... I like ssb mario more, he does look more detailed. Zygen 6,066 June 23, 2013 Share June 23, 2013 Eh, it kinda does, really it just has this more cartoony look I think, less realistic for sure, I don't know which I prefer honestly though. The graphics don't matter a whole lot to me typically though . Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! Dr. Frasier Crane 319 June 23, 2013 Share June 23, 2013 (edited) Definitely prefer realistic Mario. And with the improved graphics of the Wii U, they could've perfected it. I guess they're trying to make the characters look as they appear in their own franchises, and to improve the colour palette, because Brawl was pretty dull in terms of colour. As for SSB4, I'm quite disappointed with the character confirmations so far except for Megaman, really hope we get some better characters confirmed. Normally I would agree, but after seeing the actual gameplay for Wii Fit Trainer, I'd be open to more "out there" characters, just as long as I get Isaac
Mars Caramel 319 June 23, 2013 Share June 23, 2013 (edited) I never really liked how Mario looked in Brawl. The high detail in his overalls just didn't seem like a huge compliment to the bright blue colour they're meant to be. I like the Wii U Mario more than Brawl Mario. I'm the kind of person who just goes more crazy for colour than detail. Edited June 23, 2013 by Mars Brownie
~Squishy Skies~ 757 June 23, 2013 Share June 23, 2013 Not really. Brawl was highly stylized. They took a darker approach in the graphics, which kinda-sorta gave the illusion of better quality graphics, but in reality, the graphics aren't all that special. They did a similar trick with Zelda: Twilight Princess. From what I've seen in the Wii-U version, the graphics are much smoother, more vibrant, and genuinely more pleased to stare at. Not to mention it's running in 1080p HD. I'd say the graphics are a HUGE step up from it's predecessor. 1 Rabbit-Kin ~Paris' Waifu
Motion Spark 7,811 June 23, 2013 Share June 23, 2013 Let me remind you that every single smash sported one of the best graphics if not the best graphics on each console they've been on. On n64, at the time, the graphics were marvelous, and actual smash was the only gme in which I saw the characters have very fluid animations and facial expressions. Melee was phenomenal, beautiful graphics alone, the characters looked more like dolls and the ambience lightning was spot on, same to Brawl, in fact the graphics looked HD to me without being HD, how many wii games we saw with brawl's graphics? In fact I was frustrated with Peach because she looked for the first time ever like a woman in melee, and in Brawl she looked very silly and kind of dumb, over the time I embraced his Peach she has been my favorite so far, the detail in her dress is something never seen before and I was so blind not to see the hard work that was put on her design as much as the other characters. This version is no different, I'll love this version as well, because hal laboratory is a dream studio always with HQ ideas under the vigilance of Sakurai. I swear that used to be every main Mario game on each console? (Super Mario 64, (The models in SSB were less polygonal than in games like SM64, Z:OoT, etc.) Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy) Well, graphics-wise they may be, in my opinion, but Super Smash Bros. is definitely the series with the most fluid animation and possibly most impressive ambience lighting I've seen on the N64, GameCube and Wii. I am just gathering opinions from various site is all GT, my own forum, here, etc. I like seeing a variety of opinions and so far these are the more well versed in actually reading what the topic is about instead of just reading the title XD @ Mars For me I thought the darker colors seemed to just look nicer visually than the softer, brighter colors of the current game. The softer pallet just feels washed out to me 1 Just what is a Nega Brony? Click the Sig to find out! Want to join the movement? Darker 1,352 August 24, 2014 Share August 24, 2014 I do feel he has much better detail in Brawl, but the size proportions are better in the WiiU Overlord of Darkness Signature made by: Astral Blitzen http://mlpforums.com/user/24786-astral-blitzen/
