Celestia's Royal Knees

I realised it a while ago, but I never got the motivation to make a thread about it. Until now.

 

Anyone else ever realised that Celastia seems to have no kneecaps?

 

As we can see in the episode "Friendship Is Magic - Part 2", her legs are kinked normally backwards.

 

But if we take a look on her knees in "Magical Mystery Cure"...

... we see how her legs are going awkwardly in the opposite direction.

 

I'm not well known with alicorn anatomy, but I think there's something wrong. :I

Hmm... animation issues or weird anatomy...

 

Well, since since the latter is more fun, I'd say it's an anatomic feature since everything we see in the show has to be canon.

 

Now, let's develop a headcanon.

 

Hmm... crap... she's not a pony! She only looks like one! Yes, that has to be true! She's, she's... a changeling. Changeling! That would proof every doubt I ever had about her. That makes sense! Perfect sense!

 

Down with the treacherous empress of the sun! Down! Down with her and her sister! Why Luna, too? Well, to be sure! Gotta get rid of those changelings. Only way to be sure is taking down all alicorns. That also goes for Twilight and Cadence, of course. And everyone who ever had contact to them. And the families of those ponies. And their friends, neighbors, co-workers...

 

 

 

Actually I think we again had a lazy or sleep-deprived animator or storyboard artist here...

I've actually seen a lot of ponies bending their knees strangely. Like, RD uses them like elbows in Return of Harmony when she puts her hooves up as if they were fists.

IT'S SO WEIRD!! Probably just animator issues, who obviously didn't remember how she bended her knees in The Return of Harmony. 

But heck she's an alicorn, she can do anything!!

Im imagining animation error, but she is the ruler of equestria with all of her alicorn magic, maybe thats just how her legs work

It just looks like an animation error to me. Silly animator, all you needed to do was to place Celestia's forelegs at a slight angle and none of this would have happened.

I guess her knees are made of jelly. But seriously, it must have been an animation error where she is on her knees but I don't think even Celestia notices that she is on her knees.

Remember that a horse leg contains both the knee/elbow and the ankle/wrist. One bends forwards and the other backwards. It's just an issue of animation that the joints get moved up and down the legs so much.

Well, actually, it's kind of the same with everypony. I don't think any of us every noticed the bow.

 

 

I guess it's just how ponies bow.
