He saw everyone surrounding Sarah. A bloodied puddle leaked from the side. He got closer to take a look, and immediately regretted it.

It's exactly what he feared, a dying Sarah.

 

Upon closer inspection of the wounds, Rock knew there was no recovery from this. A punctured stomach is practically a death sentence without advanced medical equipment, and even if he attempted surgery, he still doesn't have a blood transfusion kit on him.

 

He looked over at the little orange filly "Somebody take her away from this?" Trixie complied and took the young one back to camp.

Rock pulled out several syringes of morphine.

"Don't you worry Sarah" He said, voice soothing "Just think of your brother. You'll meet him soon"

 

He injected the first syringe, the effects were almost instant. Sarah calmed down. He prepared a second syringe, Applejack gave him a curious look.

"It'll put her to sleep" said Rock "As painlessly as possible"

Applejack nodded, satisfied with the answer. She held Sarah's hoof.

 

After the second injection, Sarah was almost lifeless now. But she mustered up the last of her strength to whisper something to Rock.

When she died. There was a blast of light. That shot AppleJack and Rock back.

 

A dark sphere appeared. The sphere started to disapear. And Princess Luna appeared.

AppleJack looked at her. "Gahhhh!" she said and AppleJack ran off.

 

"It's okay Rock. Do not be afraid." Princess Luna said. She looked at Sarah. And she said "You knew this would happen Sarah." Princess Luna gave her a smile. "Sarah, you had reasons not to believe him." Princess Luna stated. Princess Luna looked at Rock. "There's a letter that Pheonix had been given to him. If you manage to get ahold of it. Some questions might be answered for you." Princess Luna then vanished with the wind. And Sarah's body was gone.

 

Rock went back to see HeartSong asleep and Pheonix. Trixie was helping AppleJack with her wounds in a nearby tent. Scootaloo wasn't anywhere to be seen.

Rock rubbed his eyes, this was a lot for the close-minded stallion to comprehend. His doctor instinct took over and he instantly checked Applejack. Besides minor wounds, she was fine. He left his first aid with her just in case. He looked around for the young filly that was with him a minute ago, but could not see her.

 

"My mind must be playing tricks on me" Rock groaned

 

With everyone secure, he could now inquire about the letter Phoenix had. He felt silly about the whole matter, how would he approach this? 'Oh hey leader, I know you just had a pretty bad day and all but do you mind if I take any letters you would have on you?' Like that would work.

"Well, here goes nothing" He poked Phoenix "Err... hey. How's the leg?"

Pheonix coughed. "I'm fine." Pheonix coughed again.

"My leg didn't hurt that bad." Pheonix started to stand. Pheonix looked around "Did my Luetinant survive?" Pheonix saw the look on Rocks face. He was already under the impression she was dead. Pheonix sighed. "Dang." Pheonix said.

Phoenix agreed that once matters were sorted, they would recover the brother's body.

It wasn't too long ago since I destroyed Equestria. Was it? I send you this letter to tell you we're right on Schedule. The blue prints Sarah sent us seem to work rather...well. And The Captain of the Guard has run his corse. I've sent an assassin to finish the job. You know her by the name of Trixie. By now I assume that you've found her. I told her to capture you. And take you where ever it seemed worthy. Scootaloo found out about the "Storm". Since you knew this would be a problem I already told Trixe what to do.

 

Ill be sending another letter on the seventeenth. Ti'll then, take care of the Squire he's become...Too suspicious.

From what he could understand, it seemed that Phoenix's father was manipulating the events that had happened here. He quickly put the letter in his saddlebag.

Trixie is the assassin, and he told her to take Scootaloo away. That's another death Rock had on his hands.

However, Rock was still uncertain about Applejack and Heartsong. Could he trust them? Should he play along? Or should he make a break for it?

Trixie was looking outside the tent. Looking at rock. Then her head went back inside the tent. AppleJack walked out of the tent with Pheonix.

 

AppleJack helped Pheonix lay down. Then she walked over and sat down next to Rock. She gave him a smile "Ya'll want some food?" She asked. She offered some soup she had made.

 

HeartSong was still asleep and she made no movements. Pheonix while laying down. Was looking at the sky. "It's a shame, you don't get to see the sky anymore." Pheonix said.

Rock took the soup and smiled back. This was of course a mask to his increasing paranoia. He smelled the soup. Nothing seemed to be off about it. But the only reason Rock got so far in life was because he played safe, and that's how he'll keep on playing it.

 

When no-one looked, he tipped the soup away.

Rock looked back at the dead body of the mutant. He hadn't seen anything quite as monstrous as that before. Fighting was an area which he rarely touched, despite his knowledge of pony anatomy.

 

He looked back at Applejack for an answer.

AppleJack looked at him.

"We'll when the inceneration happened. I was on my own. It was later when I finally decided to make a camp. I was starting the fire when I heard a pony crying. I went towards the crying and found Scootaloo. She and I were living here together. It wasn't long till Trixie showed up. And asked if she could stay." AppleJack continued. "I was getting some food one day, and the Mutant changeling captured me. And demanded me to take it to my camp. When we got there. The changeling transformed into me. And took me into my tent.. And..." AppleJack got emotional. " The Mutant raped me..then would cut me and drink my blood." AppleJack had a tear on her face. "It wasn't till later that I heard new voices and bickering." AppleJack continued. "Then I was kicked out of the back of the tent by Trixie. Then the tent exploded." AppleJack said.

 

AppleJack looked at Rock. "I WILL never let that happen again.." Then she started to cry quietly.

Rock cringed 'Son of a Discord' he cursed.

"This world..." he mumbled "This awful world"

 

He felt less uncomfortable now. No-one would be so open to someone then kill them. At least, that's what he thought.

Rock now calculated the trust he had for these people. Applejack seemed the most trustworthy of them, Trixie however could possibly kill him if he made a wrong move. The other two were unknown.

 

"Look" Rock rubbed the back of his head "I'm not good with... this sort of stuff. But if you need someone to cry on... or speak to. I'm available"

 

'That sounded completely wrong' He thought 'This is probably why you don't have many friends'

Tears were slowly going down her face and she seemed very distressed.

 

Trixie saw this. "Excuse me AppleJack, but I think that stallion had more of a thing for Sarah." Trixie said. "I mean she had a better plot then you AppleJack." Trixie said.

 

"That was uncalled for." Pheonix said.

He felt comforted by Applejack's touch. His troubles seemed to weigh a lot less. Applejack's distressed look scared him however. He had no clue what to do.

"You're jealous!" Pheonix laughed.

 

Trixie blushed "I am not!" Trixie claimed.

"Thank you and be sure to come again." My most recent customer takes his newly purchased blade and walks out the door. "Hahaha, sucker if only they knew they were buying second had equipment. I get twice as much business all because hardly anyone knows how to properly take care of a blade, much less know how to use it." I take my newly acquired bits and put them away. Then begin to polish my favorite blade. "Though I guess that doctor gets a good business because of me. Hmmm, wonder if I should do something about that?"

Pheonix opened his eyes. "Wha-.." Pheonix said mysteriously. "Is The captain of the guard alive?" Asked Pheonix, even though they knew the answer. "Wrong. Captain Kevin is not alive." The Orb said.

"Holly..." Pheonix said.
