DjHarmony 5 July 29, 2013 Share July 29, 2013 I made a similar post about the wait for season 4, a while after calming down I wondered what they do during the wait. I figured the writers get the episode material ready for 26 episodes. and the 1 episode a week is just animation time. Can someone help me understand this? 1 DjHarmony, training to become a great MLP dj. =D
Red Diamond 549 July 29, 2013 Share July 29, 2013 Hmm, I wonder what they do... Oh yeah! Animate the new episodes. I don't see why you didn't see this earlier, but I'm pretty sure they animate between the season finale, and sometime before the airing of the season premiere. 2 ATTENTION!! I DO NOT TAKE REQUESTS! john117 6 July 29, 2013 Share July 29, 2013 I guess they start working on the next season, or they edit some of the episodes in season 4, or they talk about things they did wrong.
Kyoshi Frost Wolf 41,689 July 29, 2013 Share July 29, 2013 Work on the next season, work on marketing, make products, and probably a bunch of other stuff we don't know about. I guarantee they have plenty to keep them busy.
Super Derpy 535 July 29, 2013 Share July 29, 2013 Like everyone else said wouldn't they be creating the next season in between seasons? Sounds like a pretty logical answer. My work here is done. Fergus Mo 21 July 29, 2013 Share July 29, 2013 (edited) Well, obviously they play TF2 all day and let Lauren Faust's team do all the hard work, right? OT: yeah, basically what everyone else said. EDIT: I was ninja'd by, like, 2 seconds. Edited July 29, 2013 by Fergus Mo
longgone 873 July 29, 2013 Share July 29, 2013 I like to imagine they just sit at their desks and twidle their thumbs all day, waiting for the the workers to get the Season done.
Scootalove 10,689 July 29, 2013 Share July 29, 2013 They start working on writing episodes, making art, working on animations, writing plots & storylines, and start on Season Four marketing. While, they work on their evil plans! Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
Fhaolan 4,484 July 29, 2013 Share July 29, 2013 Wait, do you mean Hasbro, or DHX? Hasbro has a business to run. They're doing the same thing as they do when pony is 'on'. While pony is currently the driving force behind their profits in *one* division of the company (which they just label 'Girls'), there's about six or seven other divisions to the company, including 'Boys' (mainly driven by Transfomers), 'Games' (currently Parker Brothers and Wizards of the Coast), and so on and so forth. For DHX, ponies is just one of their productions. They also do Littlest Pet Shop, and Pound Puppies, as well as a variety of stuff for YTV. And DHX actually outsources a bunch of the pony stuff to Top Draw Animation in the Philippines, who is juggling other projects just like everyone else. Wonderbolt_Spitfire 235 July 29, 2013 Share July 29, 2013 Animating between episodes wouldn't be possible for a show like MLP. It takes months to get everything to Post Production. Once a new season is confirmed then the crew get into full swing with writing episodes, creating storyboards, creating animatics, etc. In the down time Hasbro is busy creating toys and throwing around other product ideas. They only interfere with the TV show development process when they believe an idea is good enough to make them tons of $$. For the most part writers have guidelines to stick to when writing the show but are usually given some creative leeway. Sig made by me. Surprisingly it came out somewhat decent. Zygen 6,066 July 29, 2013 Share July 29, 2013 Well I think it actually takes quite a while to write all the episodes and them do rough drafts of animations, and writing, and editing, and then voice actors voice acting done, and then animating, and finishing the final edits and stuff, and then doing that for every episode. I'm sure theres even more to it, idk i know nothing about making cartoons frankly, but i'm sure it takes a while. Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! Smarts 1,623 July 30, 2013 Share July 30, 2013 (edited) They do a number of things actually. Such as debate with one another about who is best pony, have a war in the office by throwing crumpled paper at each other, and getting really drunk together just to come up with ideas for the show. It's all true, I swear! My uncle who works at Hasbro told me so! Edited July 30, 2013 by SmartyPants IF is best girl.
RrVPfX9cPtw59FpC 1,304 July 31, 2013 Share July 31, 2013 They had Equestria Girls to do, plus they might want to get a head start on season 4. Although they might be taking a bit of a brake, they're human. They deserve it after putting together that masterpiece of a television show.
