"Hey, remember yesterday in the park, where you agreed to see my art? Since we're already at my apartment, why don't we do just that? i've been looking forward to showing you." she beamed.

 

 

Candy smiled and nodded, "Sure." If it what was Sunny's work, Candy was interested, whether she was an art-pony or not. "So where is it?" She questioned innocently, and stared into Sunny's eyes. "No doubt it's well done...if it is though...wouldn't that be a cutie mark for her?" Candy was momentarily distracted with her thoughts.

Ember just laughed and shook his head as he got back up on shaky feet.  "Nevermind, that's not important."  He grinned, his sour mood from a little while ago completely forgotten.  "Thanks, Bubble!  Just having a normal conversation has done wonders for me today.  I was trying to say that all of my firework ingredients are hand chosen by me, so only the best goes into my products!"  He beams proudly before getting an idea, a sparkle in his eye at the very thought that just popped into his head.  "Say, what about a demonstration!?"

Bubble had placed all of her faith in the fact that this pony had been eating an ice-cream and she had been right: he was nice! Conclusive proof that trust could be assigned by sweets alone.

 

"Really? That would be amazing!" Her eyes shone again as she beamed. "The sun's still out though, will we be able to see them?" She asked excitedly, already glancing up into the sky.

Ember looked up and frowned.  "Aww, it IS still up!  I always forget about that...  I could still set a few off, but you're right, they look MUCH prettier in Luna's sky than they do in Celestia's."  Ember chewed on his lip while thinking, almost looking like he were pouting.  "I wonder how much longer until it gets dark?  I would be more than happy to wait to show you what I can do, but I don't know what to do until then.  Heck, I don't even know where we are!  I'm assuming I'm still in Baltimare, but for all I know I could've wandered out of town."

Ears drooping a little, Bubble nodded, resigning herself to the fact that she was going to have to wait. This didn't last any longer than the usual minute or so before she was smiling happily again though.

 

"Yeah, I think so! My hotels just over that way... I think." She motioned in the completely wrong direction. "Maybe you could show me later? I love fireworks!"

Ember smiled and nodded eagerly.  "Yeah, definitely!  I should probably stock up on supplies first, but I'll find you once it starts getting dark.  I made a few sales this morning so some of my colors are running a little low."  He turned to get ready to push his way through the crowd, wondering where he was going to find a store with the right stones he would need.  Before leaving he glanced over his shoulder at the mare again, a big smile on his face.  "I'll catch up to you once it's dark!  Bye, Bubble!"  The ordeal from the grocery store was the farthest thing from his mind now that he had a job, and a new friend, to set his mind on.

By the time Pondah had recovered from the shock of the sweet and cold ice-cream, Bubble had made some sort of agreement with a green and black unicorn. "So what just happened there?" ​Pondah asked.

 

Without waiting for a reply, Pondah attempted to strike up conversation with the guitarist. "Hey, guitar guy," ​Pondah said. "That was pretty good. What's your name?"

Starshine was a tad upset. The jeweler refused to pay more than a hundred bits for the medallions. He wouldn't be really upset if it was only that, but the jeweler screamed at the top her lungs when she touched the hoof bracelet. For nearly an hour Starshine gallloped around the blocks trying to shake the crazed mare from his tail. Now, the colt was resting on top of a tree in a rather hustling park. He sighed. At least he still have his tail and the loots.

 

He took out the so-called 'cursed' bracelet. He couldn't feel anything from the jewelry. Heck, he had been touching the thing for dozens of times and there was no reaction. The jeweler clearly had lost her mind. "This day just couldn't be worse," he sighed. He looked at the ponies below, each were having a great time with either their families or their friends. Starshine recognized a couple of familiar faces among the crowd. There were two stallions near them, but their faces weren't familiar "Isn't that... Pondah and the chimera mare? Oh, I guess I'll watch them for a bit."

"Well you do that, I'm just gonna sit here and finish my glass of wine." Kaz said, swirling the deep ruby liquid around inside the elegant crystal glass.

"What's your inspiration for this latest track? I read quite often that it takes a fair amount of... Like... happenings to actually get you going." Kaz said, trying to pry open the safe that is Bass.

Bass froze at the question.

Sometimes it's just things I enjoy doing, good times I've had... y-you, bad times, memories, just inspiration is all over the place, I suppose." He looked back from his equipment for a second to see if the stallion had heard what he said, then reutrned his gaze to his equipment which he was now starting up.

A silence took over the room whilst Kaz awaited as response whilst Bass stared down at the glowing lights, sliders and buttons in fronts of him. The machine's aura made the candles cower and hide and an icy blue wisp now bounced off of the walls... fighting against the still flames.

"I'm not sure... but Ember says he's going to take me out this evening and show me some fireworks!" Bubble chirped obliviously to her friend. "That will be fun!"

 

Today was going really well! Despite the bested notebook (which now lay forgotten at the bottom of her bag) she was having a really good day with Pondah and had even made a new friend! One who made fireworks!

"Oh, the names Thunder Dash." Thunder Dash said to Pondah, who looked quite intrigued at his playing skills. "Music is like my greatest passion, besides flying and doing things that other pegasai can't do...no offense to other pegasai." Thunder Dash explained.

Pondah smiled at Thunder's confidence. "Well, hello Thunder," ​Pondah said. "I'm Pondah and I spend my time doing things that other earth ponies don't do. Nice to meet someone similar."

 

The way he was able to easily speak shocked Pondah. Only a few days ago, he would be hiding and cowering whenever he was bumped, nudged or addressed. Now, he was able to start a conversation! 'Did Bubble do this? I have only started being more confident when I met her. She's something special.'

​Pondah turned back to face Bubble. "Make sure you stay safe." ​Pondah told Bubble with a smile. "Oh, and before I forget. Bubble, this is Thunder."

"So, what do you do that other earth ponies don't or can't do?" Thunder Dash asked with extreme curiosity  He was so glad he found somepony just like him, and this would establish a brand new friendship. He also wanted to show off his abilities, but not in a prideful manner.

"You know me Ponder, I'm always careful!" Bubble answered. "Anyway, he's only showing me some fireworks!"

"Ponders really smart! And he doesn't like ice-cream... That something other earth ponies don't do, isn't it?!" She added to the musician. "You're really good by the way."

"Thanks, and there's something else I can do, which is what my cutie mark symbolizes." Thunder Dash stated. 

 

"Wow, I still can't believe that so many ponies came to see me. I thought only a few would stop. This is just amazing. To come to think  of it, I rather be here than hang out with some of those snooty upper class ponies in Canterlot." Thunder Dash thought to himself.

Pondah smirked as Bubble answered Thunder's question for him. "Yes,"  Pondah said in agreement. "Unlike a majority of earth ponies I am more interested in facts and figures than strength and alcoholism. For example, 9/10 alcoholics are earth ponies and 66% exceed the recommended alcohol limits at least once a week. I imagine it may have something to do with the false idea that stronger ponies can take more alcohol. I think it's a lack of knowledge that's to blame."

 

​Pondah paused for a moment before continuing. "Wow, almost went on a full rant there. What is this 'other thing' you can do?

"Well," Thunder Dash stated. He then gathered some electricity. Sparks flared around his body. He then used the electricity to levitate his bag. He then put it back down. "I've had this ability since I was a little colt." Thunder Dash explained as he put the bag back down on the ground.

Pondah was awestruck as Thunder lifted the bag with his electric. "That's... that's incredible!" ​ Pondah said, struggling to find words to fit how he felt. "I mean... a pegasus gathering and holding enough energy for telekinesis. That's completely unheard of! Are there any negative side effects? Any pain or fatigue? You know, with some wire and a metal core you could easily make an electromagnet."

"Well, here's the explination: You see, when I was younger, I was born a little taller than the average baby. I had a growth spurt when I was little. But to skip a little, a day game when I was at flight camp and a fellow pegasus got lost in a storm. After nopony else could find her, I decided to go and look for her myself. As I flew through the storm, I was suddenly struck by lightning. Thought I was a goner right? Wrong! Somehow, the electricity was absorbed in body and from that day on, I had the ability to wield electricity in my body. I soon taught myself how to use magic with these abilities. There is one negative side to it though, if I use too much at one time, I become very weak and will need a quickshot from a thunder cloud." Thunder Dash explained as he stood up and packed his guitar away. He then gathered some electricity and made his guitar disappear. It transfered over to his hotel room. "Anything else you want to know?" Thunder Dash asked with a smile.

Bass immediately regretted admitting what he did, but was glad the unicorn hadn't quite heard him.

 

"Huh? Whisper- uh no? Anyway, um... yeah It's a big range of things that can bring inspiration, heh."

 

The tan unicorn flipped a another switch with a small wave of magic, and a machine started up, his main synth, to be exact. Upon tweaking a few settings to get the proper sound he needed, he began to key out a gentle melody that he had floating around his head, and slowly began to fall back into his routine for standard production... all in front of the laid out stallion behind him. Truthfully, he could've totally forgotten he was being watched if the room wasn't still illuminated by the romantic candles.

Sunny beamed and ran to another room to grab a few small drawings and paintings. She levitated them behind her as she trotted back to where Candy was waiting. Sh bit her lip nervously, hoping Candy would like her art, but couldn't help but grin from excitement. this was the first time she had shown anypony outside her family.

"This is my favorite painting of mine so far," she said, setting the other drawings and paintings in a pile and levitating a painting of a black-capped chickadee up to Candy..

Candy's jaw dropped briefly, then a pleasant smile grew across her face. "It looks so good though..." Candy looked back and forth about 8 times,between Sunny's flank and the painting. "How?!" She said irritably. "You're so good at this and somehow you don't have a cutie mark for it?" She was confused as to how this could be. She finally sighed and rubbed her head for a moment. "Well, you'll get it one day." Candy was able to see some of the other pieces of art Sunny had created, and was stunned at Sunny's ability.

 

"You're so, so good...how do you even manage this?" Her face flattened, "I think the magic is broken. That, or you spilled bright yellow paint on your flank." She giggled, and finally hugged Sunny. "You really are good though," She then joined Sunny at the side and leaned against her once more, while she was still staring at the art. Candy felt rather disappointed in the fact that Sunny still hadn't found her cutie mark, and even if Sunny wasn't bothered by it, Candy still wanted to offer some comfort. She kissed Sunny on the back of the neck, and behind the ear, and said "I'll be there the moment that mark makes its show." Another moment passed, "I wonder if that was too much comfort..."

Sunny smiled and giggled a bit, surprised by Candy's reaction to her art and blushing from the kisses.

"I certainly hope so." she replied, grinning at the mare beside her and setting the drawings and paintings down. "i'm glad you like my art."

"So, is there anything you want to do for now? I'm fine with anything as long as it's with you."

Candy smiled, "Well, if we were at my place...I could mix a nice drink for us...but oh well, I'll make do just spending my time talking to you." It was nearly mid day, but Candy couldn't think of much anything to do.

 

Candy lead both of them to Sunny's bed, where Candy threw herself down lazily, then pulled Sunny onto the bed to join her. "I dunno..." She grinned slyly, then pecked Sunny on the lips, "How about we relax?" She then started massaging Sunny's back with her hooves. "We've got groceries, I think that was today's priority...I just wanna spend the rest of it relaxing with you, to be honest." She smiled and leaned her head on Sunny's shoulder while she continued massaging her.
