As you enter into the portal, you see a- rather empty- room with one changeling sitting in it, wearing a dark blue cloak with an eyepatch over one eye. His smile is somewhat smug, as he silently watches you all file through the portal. When everyone had entered through, he grinned. "Alight, then... hello, everypony. May I get to hear everypony's names before we begin?"

 

Iron Wing and Blazing followed the group into the portal and came into the rather empty room with the changeling on the other side. As he friendly asked for their names both mares flipped with their ears up and down. It was very rare to see that a changeling was talking with such a friendly tone. His grinning was somehow strange, but Iron tried not to go into prejudices too much. But then something happened she didn´t expect.

 

 

 

Without thinking he starts to panic and draws his original knights blade out of its holster and charges towards the changeling. "DIE YOU BASTARD!" Chivalry looks as if he is intending to kill him.

 

 

He sidestepped Chivalry Knight and unsheathed a dagger, standing at a ready position. "I mean you no harm. I am sorry if the rest of my race have been insensitive warts to you in the past, but let me assure you that I am separate from them."

 

Iron Wing watched everything got some impressions on the persons that acted here. Chivalry seemed to be a nice pony, but acted too fast and without thinking hostile against a friendly creature. Of course, she had hostile intentions against this vile dragon that was in the group too, but she didn´t attack him just like that. Seeing him somewhat behind the group and... had he glowing eyes? Whatever it was, she didn´t had a good feeling about all this. After the first combat-intent of Chivalry, Iron made a step forward and greeted the changeling. She had fought these species also very often and knew much about them, but sometimes even she got surprised. So she was carefull with her words.

 

"My name is Commander Iron Wing Celes Grayhoove, member of the 7th combat assault squadron and Grayhoove Clan knight." she introduced herself to the changeling. She mentioned her former squadron because of the confrontations with changelings. If this changeling had taken part within these conflicts, he would knew that all members of this squad were crusaders and dangerous fighters. Perhaps the dragon also knew about this, and this would make things easier if he knew with whom he was dealing. After introducing herself she took place near the dragon, but not exactly next to him. She wanted to watch him.

 

Blazing also jumped forward. Unlike her introduction to the ponies, she prefered a more serious introduction to the inquisitor. "My name is Blazing Storm van Hoofenheim, but´s it´s ok to call me Blaze, or another short name if that helps." she said, making a friendly and formally bow to the changling. She jumped on Iron Wings back and layed down. "What are you doing Blazing?" Iron asked a bit annoyed. "Just enjoying your company. Also you don´t even feel that weight on your back, do you? Come on! Just smile a bit more... if you don´t do, in future perhaps you´ll be never be able to smile again. That would be horrible, isn´t that right?" Blazing asked and relaxed

Raze followed White. "Lead the way." As they made their way towards Moon Crypt, already Raze could see one of the mercs's going ballistic, and then fainting, his sword dropping on the floor with a loud clang. He sighed. This pony's actions really reminded him of Vaas. 

 

"Well, that's one way to make an introduction. Are you sure these are the right ponies for the job?" he whispered to White.

@, Selune tries to calm him down by instructing him to breathe slowly and on the other hoof Terra just sighed in dissapointment as he figured his attempts didn't affect him that much. "You need to focus on the real danger right here! We can't be distracted by fighting amongst ourselves!!!"

The alabaster mare was about to make a friendly even maybe too about the skills of Selune and Terra but the sudden arrival of karma and the deliver of the group request made her stop "Thanks Mr. Karma" she said receiving the med kid that she placed directly into her saddlebag "If you excuse me Terra, Selune I, have to be sure that everything its ok before our departure" she said to her new acquaintances and trotted back to where the dragon was waiting. 

 

"Its time?" he asked her in a soft voice, "Yeah it is" Emi replied. The dragon nooded at that time some of the ponies were already crossing the "portal" Colt went back to his four legs and gaited with Emi to the portal crossing it revealing the room and the surprisingly violent situation that was going on. Atmosphere of hate and confussion filled the place both siblings could notice most it coming from the gray unicorn that introduced himself before.

 

Colt watched the scene from the entrance of the room Emi walked closer to see what was going on it looked like the "crisis" was over and that Chivalry was not going to take this any further.

The dragon watched the black shapeshifter listening to his words. Understanding that feeling and the ones from the sword holding unicorn. "Looks like allies can come in all kind of shapes" the dragon whispered but this time not low enough to be silent, this words were meant to the armored mare knight that was shooting her sight like cold daggers onto the dragon. "we all should keep that in mind" he said this time looking at the blue pegasus.

 

It was then when Emi got to the changeling realizing each pony in the room was giving him its name "My name, Its Earth Miracle Mr Crypt and over there its Co..." "Colt" the voice of the dragon interrupted the introduction from her younger sister. Rising up to his hind legs and lowering his hood to reveal his face the dragon said his name "Colt Strahl". Emi smiled a bit and trotted back to his side. They were ready it was time to aid the dream Equestria was.

The Jester sighed, walking over, shaking the ground slightly with his armor. "Yeah, I think so. Or, at least their profiles said so. I'm not sure what his problem is-"

 

Moon Crypt shook his head. "Changelings. According to this, he came from a faraway pony kingdom, and then it was conquered by Chrysalis. He is the only known survivor of the kingdom. I think changelings are his berserk button, if you know what I mean." He slowly edged away from him before casting a spell that would make him conscious.

"Ah, yes. Iron Wing. Your armor- and reputation- speaks for itself." He nods. "And... Blaze, then? Alright."

 

"I think I should just call you hyper," muttered the Jester underneath his breath.

He nodded at Selune and Terra. "Pleasure to make your acquaintance, Miss Selune. And, of course, Mr. Terra."

He smiled. "Hello, Blitz. Nervous? Don't worry about it, everything will be fine."

 

"Unless the demons get hold of you and rip you in ha-" started the Jester jovially.

 

Shadow Seer glared at him. "That isn't exactly a confidence building speech."

 

White Rose shook her head and turned to Blitz. "Don't mind him. He's a little bloodthirsty."

He smiled and bowed in return. "Hello, Mr. Thatcher. A doctor, the? You certainly will be useful, I will assure you that." He smiled gingerly.

Moon Crypt watched his weak introduction as he retreated to the back. "You are a pyrotechnic? That should be good, especially a bit later."

 

The Jester laughed,and it echoed throughout the room. "We already have a pyrotechnic, Crypt, and he's standing in this suit of armor."

 

White shook her head. "One, more like a pyromaniac. Two, your role is heavy weapons and armor. Three, even if the previous two were false, can you be in two places at the same time?"

 

He sighed. "You're no fun," he grumbled.

Shadow Seer stopped very suddenly and turned to Emi and Colt. "Earth Miracle and Colt Strahl... Aren't you the ones that... hmm..." She stopped talking, pondering in thought.

 

White Rose sighed. "Think about it later, Shadow."

"But, White... they were asleep, spellbound, for over-"

 

"Later."

 

She sighed. "Very well."

 

Moon Crypt watched this exchange in silence and, after it was completed, he shrugged and nodded. "Hello, Colt and Earth Miracle." He smiled.

Moon Crypt watched Acheron stare off into space, distracted by something.

He shrugged and turned to the others. "Alright... You will be working with the Demontouched here. White Rose, the leader-"

 

White Rose, a white unicorn with a pink belly and hind legs nodded.

 

"-Shadow Seer, the illusion, abjuration, and divination expert-"

 

Shadow Seer, a unicorn that was totally cloaked in white, so that only her eyes could be seen, bowed. "It's an honor."

"ME! The Jester Of Death, although you can call me the Jester for short. I blow stuff up and shoot an energy cannon!" He sighed. "Of course, I don't have that on me right now. It won't fit in the hallway. Dumb hallways. Why you no two feet bigger?"

 

Moon Crypt scooted away from him about a foot, grinning cheaply and giving him a look that said, 'insane lunatic'. "Alright then... well... yeah. The Demontouched. And now, we get to business."

He took out a map of a city. "Alright... this place is currently under the control of a greater demon lord named Silthril, lord of snakes and deception." He sighed. "We know that he was able to make it in with three of his exarches- definately Relanio and possibly Surlavia, but we don't know about the other one." He sighed. "However... we were able to capture a snake pony. With some... motivation... we were able to get out of her the fact that they are scheduling an assassination. The target is an elderly mare named Starlight Shine, the owner and current monopolizer of potion ingredients in Manehattan. We don't know why she's being targeted, but she has made some sudden moves in business lately that could anger competitors. We were also able to learn that these disappearances in Manehattan aren't coincidences. No, the guild has set up some sort of assassin's guild to raise money." He sighed again. "Alright... the assassination is supposed to take place tonight. I would like five ponies to go. As there are fifteen ponies here, I'm thinking about splitting you all in three groups. Of course, if you want to choose your groups, go ahead and do it now..."

After Chivalry was awakened by Moon Crypt's spell, he started to speak. "Ugh, what in the name of Celestia happened?" He slowly stood up on his hoofs and looks over at Moon Crypt. A depressed look overcomes Chivalry's face and he looks down on the floor only to see his blade unsheathed and laying in the ground. "I, I... I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to... I, uh." Chivalry was at a loss for words. He knew that what he had just done was stupid, reckless, and unprofessional. Chivalry started to tear up a bit. "D-darn it, I'm sorry for acting up like that. I-I just don't know what came over me... It was reckless and stupid of me to do something so... so vulgar." Chivalry stops for a second and looks up at Moon Crypt. "I-I don't know if you had anything to do with the invasion or not but... right now we are allies and I guess I'm going to have to deal with it, aren't I?" Chivalry looks at Moon Crypt with sad but determined eye's. "My... my name is Chivalry knight, Former knight of the kingdom of Killik in the far east parts of Equestria. I will do everything in my power to protect the group, and I swear that nothing like what just happened will never happen again... I swear it." Chivalry turns to look at his sword, he then levitates it into its locking holster and walks next to the others. Still feeling ashamed of himself. He sat down and watched Moon Crypt as he started to perform the presentation. He had acquired all the information provided by the presentation and was given a choice to be in a group.

Chivalry started to speak aloud. "Choose your groups huh? let's see here, a group I would put together would probably be... Rock Thatcher, for healing and medical purposes. Iron Wing, to be a "Front-Line" attacker, Her armor looks sturdy enough to take some hits and she also looks very powerful. Blitz, I don't know much about her, but she seems like she has some sort of hidden potential, maybe she knows about it and is just not telling everypony else, or maybe not but somehow she intrigues me. Blaze Finder, a fast,light armored pyrotechnic is a good idea to have in a group, especially in some needed situations. And lastly but not least, Me, Chivalry Knight, I could use my bubbles to protect everyone from oncoming attacks and I could also be another "Front-Line" attacker, there's something iv'e been wanting to try out... However, even if this is a good group, I have no say in whether they would want to group up like this or be in another group..."

Raze nodded at the group when his name was called out. "Nice to meet you all."  He sighed at the Jester's introduction. "Don't mind Cannonback here," he said to the group. "Being in that armor of his really screws with his head. But yeah, if you ever need an extra blade to help you out, I'm your guy."

Hearing about the details of the mission Selune thought that it was best to trigger some sort of trap. So she aproached and aired her thoughts to all.

"Excuse me but if this is an assasination then if we appear guarding Star Shine heavily then they will just stop until we have dispersed. Not to mention that it is probable that they will be doing something else in the meantime."

She trotted up and down as Terra watched her with confusion but then an idea came to his mind. 

@, At that time they heard Chivarly's formation plan. 

"I volunteer... alright. Why don't we make this group the only group to actually be "seen" near the mare? Selune's kind of right... the best plan is for the more stealthy ones of the group to stay hidden around her and make sure she doesn't get ambushed. We need to keep something in reserve to make them reckless. What do you say guys?"

Raze sighed and looked around at the group. What interested him most, though, were the pegasus and the dragon she was with. They both looked strong. He kept a bit of an eye on them...

 

"What's goin ON?!" R appeared out of nowhere, nearly starting Raze, but he kept his composure.

 

"Really R? This isn't a good time..."
 

"Yeah well, I needed someone to talk to. Stayin' cramped in that soul gem of yours isn't really great, you know?"

 

Oh yeah, the gem. Raze looked at it, which was on the hilt of his longsword. When he became one of the Demontouched, they told him they needed to put R there, for some reason or another.

"You know, if you want to call the heavy weapons guy crazy, I'd like to see you go into battle with a thousand demons without the ability to melt them like butter. Who else is going to save your sorry hide, eh, Raze?"

Moon Crypt smiled as he watched the conversation, then frowned ass he saw the Soul Gem embedded in his sword. "That's what I forgot to tell you!" He opened his back and levitated out a medium-sized gem that was orange, shining in the light. "I have had the fortune to find these. A Soul Gem." He smiled. "A Soul Gem is a magical incarnation of-"

 

The Jester grinned. "Enough of your fancy talk, Moon Crypt. I've got this." He finished peeling his banana and laid it on the table. "Alright. Pretend that this banana is Equestria."

 

"So Equestria is going to be eaten by a filly wearing a mask with an Aspect of Death bound to it?"

 

The Jester gave Moon Crypt a withering glare. "No. Let me rephrase that- this banana represents the magical essence of Equestria."

 

"So the magic of Equestria is going to be eaten by-"

 

What appeared to be two small cannons popped out of the Jester's armor and trained themselves on the Inquisitor. "Try me," he snarled. "I dare you."

 

Moon Crypt suddenly went silent.

 

"Thank you." The cannons retracted themselves. "Now, the magic of Equestria is divided into tiny bits-" he drew what appeared to be a katana and chopped the banana up into about twenty pieces. "-and encased in gems. Pretend these banana bits are the gems." He sheathed the sword and smiled. "If a piece of this energy is used up, it is recharged by the very beings that see the magic through their every day activities. Like singing or dancing or whatever it is you joy-obsessed ponies do with your time." He sighed. "However, if a gem is destroyed-" He ate a piece "-so goes that chunk of the magic." He smiled. "The ultimate goal of the demons, after conquering Equestria, is to make it eternally theirs by finding and destroying all of the Soul Gems, and, ultimately, destroy all the magic of Equestria, making it eternally theirs." He hit the table, sending the banana chunks flying up into the air and land in his mouth. He bowed, grinning. "And that is a Soul Gem in a nutshell."

 

Moon Crypt looked over at the Jester and sighed. "Are you finished?"

 

"Eeyup. "

 

He sighed. "Well... alright then. Certain ponies can use this energy to perform feats of extreme power. Like The Jester can become the Aspect that is in his mask, for example." He smiled, though still keeping his eyes on the Jester. "Although, I must ask- if you could eat the magic of Equestria, would you?"

 

"It depends. Does it taste like bananas?"

 

"Um... yes?"

 

"Then I'd eat half of it, and take the other half to Mr. D. He likes bananas, but he's too busy to get them on his own, and I'm over here killing demons for him."

'Hmm, I guess now I know why they call him the Jester...' Chivalry sighed after the presentation. 'Nonetheless, these soul gems... they intrigue me, with these could I really use the skill I have in mind?' Chivalry was deep in thought. He thinks that if he were to use one of these gems, he might be able to use the Three Sword Chain State.

Mare and dragon listened to the group as they made calls and guessed about what needed to be done, then the voice of Shadow Seer echoed in the ears of the siblings.

Shadow Seer stopped very suddenly and turned to Emi and Colt. "Earth Miracle and Colt Strahl... Aren't you the ones that... hmm..." She stopped talking, pondering in thought.   White Rose sighed. "Think about it later, Shadow." "But, White... they were asleep, spellbound, for over-"   "Later."   She sighed. "Very well."

The eyes of the dragon focused on Shadow Seer what was he talking about, how does he could knew such things, it was a mystery and in a way a threat Colt and Emi never revealed their past to anypony. They had their reasons. Fortunately for them and before any of the siblings had to act White Rose stoped Seer's unwanted mumbling. *Sigh* dragon and mare released their tension gained in that moment.
 

He shrugged and turned to the others. "Alright... You will be working with the Demontouched here. White Rose, the leader-" ..........

"Demontouched!? now thats a tittle" Emi whispered to the dragon while listening to all the introduction from them and the explanation "They certanly are a peculiar bunch" the dragon thought while watching how "unique" the demon touched where "still behind the act they are serious stuff" his mind completed.

Colt listened carefully to the briefing just as the mare with violet mane did, each time they found something to be further explained or that gave them concerns both whispered what to do or what they thought about it.No one else would be able to listen them. After the explanation from the demontouched finished Emi stood forward with a serious look on her face to address some of their concerns raising a hoof before starting her questions.

"Does Starlight Shine knows of this? or the information has been kept "reserved" to you and those close to this task" Emi asked the demon touched "If possible I would like to stay as an escort for her" she completed. "Also you said there are this "snake-ponies" how many can we expect to find?, what can they do? and where do they come from? " Emi asked finishing her questions.

From the back of the group the dragon raised his voice for the demontouched to listen "You said you have one of them in custody... is it ok for us to see him and talk with him?" the siblings knew that knowing what it was unwise to star a fight with no info of an enemy.

Shadow Seer looked at Selune inquisitively before shaking her head and turning away.

Selune is a little curious about Shadow Seer's reaction and the questioning look on her face remains up until she hears about the gems. She and Terra look quite intrigued by the function of the gems 

"So essentialy the gems are kind of like pillars of balance holding this world's magic togother?"

"So that's what i see when i look into the sky sometimes? I thought it was just natural and channelled from the unicorns. I never knew that everyday things like that could fuel it! This is most interesting!"

"As interesting as it is dangerous... makes our world a little more fragile that i'd like to think. But nevertheless i can't change the world and those gems need to be protected."

@@Colt, "If you are willing of interogating the suspect i would like to join you mister... Colt Strahl? I though i heard your name from your sister... I am Selune Darkeye and this... *she points at her friend beside her* is Terra Lionmane."

"Nice to meet you. And i agree... this prisoner will be useful."

"Well, if all of you are going, then you're gonna need someone to take you there and make sure nothing goes out of hand with the prisoner," Raze said as he straightened up. He went up to White Rose.

Moon Crypt nodded. "Very well, I can take you to see the prisoner. Although we've ran out of truth potion, so diplomacy is going to be the key thing here if you want to get anything out of him."

White nodded, smiling. "Of course you may come, Raze."

 

((This is it for the day. Going to some amusement park place against my will. It will be painfully loud, and where I will be told by mother dearest to either pretend to be happy or die because it is my brat of a cousin's birthday party. ))

 "If you are willing of interogating the suspect i would like to join you mister... Colt Strahl? I though i heard your name from your sister... I am Selune Darkeye and this...

 

Colt and Emi turned their eyes to see each other after Selune and Terra asked them to come over. The dragon had a surprised look below his hood, his sight traveling from pony to pony before bowing towards them in sign of acknowledgment. The face of the white pegasus showed a little bit of concern and hesitation she stumble a little as she replied to them "Su..sure i dont see any problem thats if we are allow to see this "snake pony" " she said when she was walking to be at the side of the scaled one in the room.

 

 

 

"Very well, I can take you to see the prisoner. Although we've ran out of truth potion, so diplomacy is going to be the key thing here if you want to get anything out of him."

 

While walking to follow White Rose and Raze to see this demon pony the dragon said something to the leading unicorn "Words are not the only thing that can give answers" it was at low volume but it could be listen by everypony in the group. "Dont worry about the answers for now" Emi completed the words of her brother "about our safety Mr. Raze thanks for the aid its always good to know we can count on somepony to cover our backs".

White Rose guided them along, her face dead serious. "Terra, as much as I would like to think otherwise, you are probably right. We can't let him go. And, Colt, you too are correct, but his mind is... blocked. We don't know why. I think that something has put up a shield around his mind."

Raze smiled a bit a Emi. "I appreciate your thanks. Like I said, if you ever need an extra hoof or blade to help you out, I'm your guy." He then overheard White saying that the snake pony might have put up a shield to block his thoughts. 

 

"I might have a solution. I could send in R. He could probably get past that shield," he said to White.

 

((For those who don't know, R is kind of like Raze's own form of a personal spirit guard.... thing, born from the blood aura that he managed to keep under control. Basically, he's the personified form of his blood aura.))

Blaze and Iron were watching the ponies... and dragon how they were starting to build up groups for this mission. It was a bit difficult to tell where they were placed best. Blaze made a step forward and talked for them both. "Well, we don´t want to force ourself into any group, so if you want us to join, just us." she said with a friendly but good audible voice. She didn´t want to join a group with ponies who perhaps couldn´t even like her. So she made the best and most easy decision. To let the groups decide was the more clever option, also Iron was a bit impressed. "Couldn´t have said it any better." she just said and looked into Blaze´s direction. Of course Iron knew that the dragon didn´t wanted her to be in his group. After all this one was avoiding her at any chance. Meanwhile Blaze wasn´t expecting anything. She liked all and it didn´t matter to her if it was a pony, a changeling or a dragon in the group.

Paying atention to the member of the Demontouched the dragon realized something he was suspecting, since the interrogation to the snake pony was mentioned he explored the possibilities and pictured a set of scenarios according to this. Selune and his partner, Colt and Me, White Rose and... him... what is an R?" the alabaster coated mare thought trying to fit Raze's words into some sense sadly she could't she shook her head to keep the confusion away by that moment as they were close to their destination her dragon companion had to explain a little of what he had in mind.

"I would rather not, messing with his mind could turn to be fatal, If Ms Rose says there is something blocking it then an intrusion could permanently damage him. Not because of you, I bet the DemonTouched dont know what kind of mental mojo he has in there we could trigger some... unanted reaction. Also we still don't know if these snake ponies are willingly going through this, for now lets not threaten the safety of a possible innocent victim, that its also a precious source of information". The dragon kept walking with his head bowed while speaking. "If the DemonTouched used a Truth Potion on him then we can presume they already got out of him all he had to say, ...we are not going to talk to him...  " the dragon said referring to his sister and himself.

Raze noticed a look of confusion on Emi's face.

 

"Confused about R, huh? Don't worry, You'll find out soon enough," Raze said as he called out R in his thoughts.
