Moon Crypt walked into a large room. Several seats adorned the wall, and in the center of the room was an intricately- carved crystal. "And for those of you unfamiliar with Manehattan..." he shot a beam of light into the crystal. "... here it is." The crystal glowed before reflecting off of the ceiling and leaving on the large, white table a green rendition of a 3D map of the city. "We've done some research and figured the most likely location for this cult is here, underneath the fountain. However, as we are trying to keep panic to as little as possible..." he sighed. "However much I would like to dig up the fountain, we can't."

 

The Jester poked his head into the room. "Can I bother you, Moon Crypt?"

 

"No, you may not. But you may sit down with the others if you want."

 

"Nah, I'm going to go blow up some targets. Nothing better to do, anyways."

The snake pony found itself in the center of town. It quickly vanished, reappearing in a nearby alley. It looked around, before slowly slinking through the alley, navigating it as if it was home. Eventually, it walked up into a dead end and pushed a sigil, revealing a passage. As it slithered in... it falls to the ground, thrashing about. Sharp pains move through your minds, and you can detect the magic fading. "Fools," rasped an ancient-sounding voice. "Meddling in the affairs of a demon."

 

"So you know where we are now. Well, if you are so foolish enough to attempt to stop a greater demon lord, then come! But you will only find death and destruction here... Oh, yes, your source of information is dead."

The crystals started pulsing with energy. Shadow Seer growled, her horn glowing brighter as she devoted more energy into maintaining the spell. White started to help, but Shadow Seer shook her head. "Selune! Leave!" She slowly started to back out of the magical circle.

As you watch, the snake pony dissolved into a pile of ashes and dust...

 

What was that?

 

"Demons. That's what that was. Silthril found that one of his 'disciples' had inadvertently betrayed him and removed his changes, knowing that by doing so would expose the pony to enough magical energy that she couldn't control her own reaction. And so she disintegrated."

 

Shadow Seer shoved Selune out of the room as the magical energies ran out of room to be stored or manipulated, so it did what untamed magic often does- it detonated.

 

The entire group was peppered with small fragments of gems. Shadow Seer took a large fragment to the face, leaving a shallow cut, and, when the room cleared, there was nothing left but a black room- even the chains that had held the pony were gone.

 

Shadow Seer looked into the room before shaking her head. "How unfortunate..."

@, @Colt,  @~Twisted Genius~, Selune feels the staggering gaze of two eyes looking at her from the back of her mind while she is casting her spell. They are like a sudden alarm and she feels a sharp pain in her mind  "Aaaah!" she stumbles backwards with a pained look while Shadow Seet pushes her away from the room. The push is enough to bring her back to reality and with the momentum she has she falls on Emi and Colt. Luckily her move is enough to shelter the three from the blast of magic that follows. The pain finally subsides and she gasps for air as she looks back... gone... the snake pony is gone, but the evil voice of the demon lord from her head is not. It echoes like a bad dream, she turns to Emi and Colt giving them a hoof to lift them up "I... i am sorry... We are in big trouble... this demon guy is serious in bring the Equestrian Apocalypse here."

I think he has... and well he has been inactive.)) Terra whistled to the rest "Come on guys... over here..." he saw the 3d map. Wizards these days... their magic gets flashier by the day... but then again he doesn't complain. It's because of unicorns that they have advanced so much in science. Terra sees the Jester popping by for some "fun" and thinks for a moment "You could stay... we may need you help. If we can't dig them out... then there must be some sort of secret entrance to their lair. Besides... can't we teleport past the walls Mr jester? Would this be dangerous if we don't know "where" we are teleporting? How about their other operations outside the cult? We could disrupt them first... we could find some info about the entrance there. You said they are gonna kill some poor old pony? Some kind of potion-maker if i remember correctly? Can you tell us more about that?"

Raze was surprised when the magic detonated, barely having enough time to shield his face with his hooves when the gem fragments exploded everywhere. He felt the shards sink into his hooves, and he grit his teeth in pain. When the blast subsided, he looked at the damage done to him. Only a couple big shards, but many small ones were sticking out of his hooves, which were bleeding quite a bit. He sighed.

 

"The magic just HAD to detonate..." he said somewhat loudly.

The magical surge from the demon touched unicorn was a signal, there were problems, how many or what were them eluded the dragon's mind but he knew it, sadly his actions were not in par with his thoughts before the siblings could do thing the turned body of the demon cursed pony immolated into nothing with a blast coming soon after.

Falling on the ground and using his wings to in a way cover the mares at his sides Colt realized how this "commanding demon" treated life, as the blast disappear a flow of controlled rage run though the scaled body of the dragon. "Just disposable tools!" he thought with a tight jaw and claws the moment Selune offered her hooves to stand up.

 

 

"Thank you Miss", he said helping Emi and guiding her sister to the helping hoof of the striped unicorn, Emi looked in shock, her mind was conflicted and her face was a clear evidence of that. Colt stood right behind her giving his sister a tight hug whispering in her ears "I know,... its horrible, we will get them for that... take your time and get over it" while doing this the eyes of the dragon looked like having a glow of its own, his face was calmed but his eyes burned with a golden shine of anger . Colt stood up on his hind legs looking to the red maned pony "I will assume you are ok Miss Selune... " the dragon said without noticing a little detail because of his anger. His hood was removed by the blast taking it off his head and now for the first time he was showing his face to the ponies in the room.

 

 "I... i am sorry... We are in big trouble... this demon guy is serious in bring the Equestrian Apocalypse here."

 

Colt turned walked towards stood on the same place the snake pony was, just dust was left from the once mare "that's why the seal was created, and why it cant break" he said replying to the illusionist words "he and his allies will do this to every life they can reach and rott." Coming out looking Selune straight in the eyes for the first time he continued. "Now we all understand the consequences of our faliure" 

 

Shadow Seer looked into the room before shaking her head. "How unfortunate..."

 

"The lost of a life its always that, but... "  "But, it was not a waste" the alabaster said shaking her head and wiping off a couple of tears from her eyes. "We now can find them, and that monster too" she said with a gleam of rose light burning in her eyes similar to the one of the dragon's heart. "You got it to right?" Colt said with certainty in his voice "Yes, not just the wavelength of the cursed one but the other too... the one who killed her"  Earth Miracle replied.

 

Colt turned to Selune and the touched, "They can try and hide, but we will find him and his slaves, they will pay for this", Colt said with a voice that had a little roar in it."Lets go back with the rest, we now can go out and hunt."

"Terra Lionmane at your service, what can i do for you?"

 

Iron Wing looked at the pony who had talked to her. "Greetings to you, Terra Lionmane.... i am Commander Iron Wing Celes Grayhoove from the Grayhoove Clan." she introduced herself. "And i am Blazing Storm van Hoofenheim! Nice to meet ya! Yumm!" Blaze jumped into the talk and stuffed a sandwich into her mouth. She was still standing on Iron Wings back who didn´t even care about that. "I think we should join the others to ensure that everything is ok. I don´t like splitup groups, and i would prefer to fight the demons at the side of the complete group." Iron Wing stated. "Lets go!" she added and took the point to join up with the dragon and the other members.

 

 

 

The crystal glowed before reflecting off of the ceiling and leaving on the large, white table a green rendition of a 3D map of the city. Both, Iron and Blazing looked at the 3D model of the city and tried to memorize as much as possible. Orientation was very important for advanced tactics and to know the terrain. Iron saw how the town was build up and she analyzed everything to have later on the battlefield the upper hoof. Blazing shoved her sandwich down her throat just like a snake and gulped down the complete thing. She loved eating and the more she ate, the more hyped she would get. Iron Wing remembered that it wasn´t a good idea to give her anything that included sugar.

 

 

 

Besides... can't we teleport past the walls Mr jester?

 

"If needed, i shall destroy that wall." Iron Wing said, knowing that she was very powerfull by herself if it depended on raw strength. "But Iron, what about tactics?" the red mare asked. "Hmpf... It´s just... i don´t trust magic. And to be teleported is... ughh..." the mare shivered while thinking about it.

White Rose watched as Colt and Earth Miracle discussed with the others, as well as Colt's proclamation. She smiled and nodded. "Let's go, then."

The Jester of Death looked rather uncomfortable as he turned to Terra. "Do me a favor and don't all me mister so-and-so. Honestly, I don't care what you call me, as long as it makes sense. And, honestly, I don't deal with information. That's my friend's job. I have four of them surrounding me. One right there, and three behind me. And, honestly, I would rather not like to teleport. Shadow Seer and I would survive whatever anti-magic spell, Colt probably and a slight possibility that Moon Crypt will, but, other than that... I honestly don't want to see half a dozen ponies blended together, still alive, all independently thinking. I've seen it before, and it was fun the first time, but if you all go down for the count, I'll have to take down seven greater demon lords all by myself. Which, I can attest to, is not fun."

 

He turned and smirked. "And speaking of not fun, here comes the others."

Carefully setting his front hooves down, Raze followed Shadow Seer and White Rose, while quickly approaching her.

Blitz looked at the spot on the 3D map where the cult supposedly was. "Wait, why don't we just set up a shield around the area where the cult is, and then just make the digging look like some sort of construction project?" She turned to Moon Crypt. "Which I guess it technically is anyways, right?"

@@Blitz, @, @@Iron Wing, Terra nods at Iron Wing and Blazing Storm making a slight bow of acknowledgement. He listens to the suggestions of the other ponies which all conclude in the same thing. "You're all right... this calls for tactics, not just brute force. Maybe the others had some luck with the prisoner? The information obtained from "her" might be usefull." he says with a bit of disgust remembering the snake pony. @@Blitz, @, @@Iron Wing,

@@Colt, @, @, "That is what the definition of "evil" is in the end... the disrepsct of life. It is even worse when the one who disrespects your life... is your ally... your friend." she  says looking at the ashes with a bit of sadness. The demon lord treated them truly like tools, he didn't appreciate them, he didn't acknowledge their existance. The demon lord's existance was... hollow. She turns to Colt and Emi who are looking in at them all. "There is no greater enemy than the ungrateful friend." She offers her hoof in the middle for all the three of them to touch "Let us make a vow then... that we will wipe them out of Equestria... for the good of our land. Let us confirm our allegiance to the Princess with this gesture."

Both, pegasus and dragon felt relief and a little boost in their morale after the words from Selune. For them it was clear that for a moment at least she got "in contact" with the tartarus lord. Intermediately after the red maned unicorn offered her hoof and asked for the vow Emi placed her over with no seconds thoughts intermediately after her eyes were placed on her dragon brother. 

 

Colt looked back, he raised his right paw but a second after he hesitated to place it over the uniconr's hoof... his eyes went from Selunes face back to where the two mare were waiting for his claw. Emi invited him with a nood of her head. For the dragon finding a pony that trusted him instead of running away screaming was a very weird experience, he didnt knew if Selune would run away the moment he placed his claws over her hoof, in the end with a sigh and hoping for the best the scaled and clawed hand of the dragon was placed over Selune's and Emi's something that caused the alabaster pegasus to smile in a wide way. 

 

 

"Lets then vow that until Equestria and its ponies are free from the threat of this Demons and the Tartarus we will not rest or risk the lives of our comrades"  Emi said with a solemn voice and great passion. "I vow" Colt said and both of them looked to Celune.

Luck? Nah, it doesn't exist. Which means  White must be worshipping Chaos! Ixkom commented, his voice dripping in so much sarcasm it would have sizzled over the pan.

 

She frowned. "That's not funny."

 

No, you have no humor. Everything's funny if you soak it in enough sarcasm.

 

She sighed. "Let's see what we can do about that hoof, yes?" She grinned and pulled out one shard with magic, firmly yet quickly.

Moon Crypt sighed. "That could work, Blitz, yet, remember, the moment we pierce into their lair, the cult is going to come streamimg out, and we're not sure how many there are."

He grit his teeth as the shards came out, but sighed in relief as they left his hooves.

@@Colt, The dragon was hesitant a bit... something in his moves says he doubts a bit whether this is the right move. Or maybe it is that he thinks this is an over-exaggerated move? Nevertheless it seems that the calming aura of miss Emi encourages him. When the three of them join in their hoofs she feels "connected" indeed. These shall be her companions togother with the others... and she shall cherish them... even after their job is done. "We shall work and act as one... it is how we will survive afterall." These would be one those friends Selune would like to keep forever... much like Terra. "Hey listen... i know it's much to ask but... I want to know to even if this ends... we'll still be friends right?"

Iron and Blaze listened to everything that was said. "Yes it´s true, we can´t wait too long, but also we need to use every tactical advantage. Every member that is able to be invisible, make ilusions or can sense other creatures would be perfect for a job like that. We could determine how many enemy demons are in there, could snake in or even close the entrance and then strike from their midst. With that we would have a surprise element, we can go all out and we block the only entrance." Iron Wing explained. "And if anyone tries to escape, i am a pursuit specialist. I can hunt every demon down with high velocity." the red pegasus added.

 

Iron and Blaze didn´t know which abilities or specialties the other members had, but perhaps some of them had the right abilities to solve a problem like this. And they had to make a fast decision.

Acheron could already feel the questions and suspicions that would be coming his way. He almost regretted speaking up, but everypony on this quest was bound to know of his skills sooner or later. 'Knowledge is power as they say,' he thought to himself. 'If they're smart they'll cast aside their abhorrence for my kind of knowledge and accept that they'll be needing this sort of knowledge throughout..."

"All of this being said, the energy which I produce is virtually the same as the energies found in the dark realms, meaning that these demons will either not care about my presence or shy away in acknowledgement. Get what I'm going at?"

Raze followed White upstairs to where he could hear Acheron telling the others about his affinity for demonic arts. At least, that's what he thought it was, and apparently, so did the Jester.

 

"So, why did you keep this kind of thing a secret until now?" he asked questionably.

 

He's a demon Raze, kill him! R said to him in his thoughts with hasty and worried tone.

 

No he's not... not yet, anyway. Raze answered back to him.

Acheron nodded at the Jester, paying close attention to his and the other ponies' reactions. For all he knew, a few of them were already planning on confronting him for having this kind of power at his disposal. If anything, most of them were soon going to suspect him of being involved with the late demonic activities plaguing Equestria. Nothing new in that aspect really...

"As for your question," Acheron said as he directed his attention toward Terra(?), "It doesn't exactly work that way either. I'll need to envelop you within the dark auras I produce first, then you'll emanate the same presence... for a limited time at least. Then there's also the fact that I doubt any of you have much affinity for my type of magic, meaning that it'll cause a few minor side-effects such as hearing voices from nowhere and seeing things that aren't currently manifesting within this realm."

Acheron huffed as he heard another question, this one a bit more suspicious and angry.

"I don't see why its important, but to answer that, its because you all needed to get a better grasp on the severity of the situation so that my particular talents will be deigned necessary instead of a danger."

"Let's go before they get too far and we get lost..." says Selune as he follows them.

 

"We are right behind you" Emi said with a smile that showed her renowned will and determination to protect the realm, the dragon followed both covering his face once again, he felt also motivated to defend equestria, they had a way to find this creatures and strike before them. Letting the demons and their minions to act was not the approach the siblings had in mind and now able to track them the task force had no need to wait for them now they were able to strike firts.

The Jester grinned. "Excellent. Something for me to kill."

As his energy cannons spooled up, a blast of dark energy slammed into the Jester's side, punching a hole through the three-foot-thick wall next Acheron. An inquisitor stuck his head in, looked around, and quietly took it back out.

 

He turned snarling in the direction of Shadow Seer. "You half- demon b****!! If you couldn't come back I would blast you into oblivion instead of him! He's a demoniac! Aren't we supposed to kill ponies like him?!?"

 

Shadow Seer strode over, a very dangerous look in her eyes. "Leave."

 

"Serio-"

"Leave. Now. Or else it'll be you having to find a new pony to possess and not me."

 

The Jester stood up, glaring at Shadow Seer, and strode off, cursing under his breath.

 

She sighed morosely and the demonic aura around her faded. "I am sorry, my friends. As I said before, as he is an aspect of death trapped in a pony's body. He is not exactly... right in the head."

 

White sighed. "If you want to tell everyony what you've learned, Selune, that would be good."

"And THAT'S why I sometimes am uncomfortable around Cannonback," Raze said, letting go of the hilt of his longsword. "I swear, I almost thought he was gonna go trigger happy and blow the room up, and probably us too." He sighed, and looked at Acheron. "Look man, at this point now, I would advise that you stay away from the Jester, alright?"

@,  @Iron Wing, @Blitz, @GingerJoy, @Krein, @ChivalryKnight, @Colt, It was at that time that Selune and the rest joined the fray... the flow of magic made her hair tingle a bit before she started looking around or the source of it. It was the Jester... Selune still could not comprehend what they were... something between demon spirits possesing ponies or forces of balance from the darker side of Equestria. Still that didn't make her feel comfortable.

Same went for Terra, he was suspicious how a pony like Acheron could master power of demonic nature. How could he remain sane? What about the energies? Didn't they affect him? He was willing however to give him the benefit of doubt. First because he was called here, second because this would prove usefull, third he knew Selune was using another rather controversial source of magic that involved shadows and light.

The encounter made Terra a bit jumpy "Hey this isn't funny!!! We haven't started the fight yet and you start shooting on each other? If you don't trust each other's loyalty then you shouldn't invite them in the first place!" He turns to Acheron "You are meddling with dangerous forces at your displosal... tread lightly. I will trust in your abilities, but should it get out of control..." he realises at this point that he is about to threaten him. This isn't the way, doubt filling him at this moment wasn't the way to go, taking a deep breath he stops frowning "Be careful... you lose control... and we're lost with you."

Selune didn't know the situation so she didn't know how to react "Maybe we should all take a step back... Terra... what's going on?"

"Apparently our dear Acheron here was offering the use of his "shady" powers to have us infltrate the demon cult."

"By shady you mean..."

"Demonic..."

"That sounds... dangerous... and shady."

"I wouldn't know... i am not the one to judge here, but i surely don't believe that he would be invited here if he weren't an ally."

"Okay... sounds like we all need to take a chill pill." she says rubbing his head, the headache from that demon lord was still lingering a bit.

"Hmph, well that was certainly interesting," Acheron scoffed as he dispelled the dark aura he had conjured up to protect himself from damage. He watched as the Jester left, an intrigued look flashing in his eyes. That creature would certainly be a prize for Acheron to extract knowledge from, and after what just happened, he'd be waiting for a chance to submit the Jester to his terrible magic.

 

"I'm quite aware about the nature and dangers of my knowledge," Acheron said to the rest of the ponies, "But rest assured that I'll be in proper control of it. I must warn you all however, that if any of you even dare to take on the same style of actions towards me as the Jester did, I'll have no qualms with 'losing control' to put you in your places..."

Shadow Seer nodded. "While I agree with you, Terra, sometimes situations force ponies that don't trust each other together. If nothing else, as soon as we are done, we can go our separate ways and be done with each other. Although... I do not think that we will be seeing the last of Acheron, even if we finish this mission."

 

White nodded. "Do not worry, Acheron. The only one who you have to worry about here is the Jester, and he should be down in the basement venting his anger no-"

White jumped a little before nodding. "Yes, he's venting right now."
