Light Runner

Light Runner is an earth pony. Living like usual, he have to find out soon, that destiny wants more from him. He will going to an travel, even through worlds, to stop a dark power. But it is a long way until then ...

Chapter 1: My first unusual day
I open my eyes. Like always in the morning. Always in the same time. Short before Celestia's sun shines on me through the window. I rubbing my eyes with my hooves. A short yawn and then walk out of my bed. Monday is for me always a hard day. I'm a mailstallion. And there are no mail deliveries on weekend, so all the mails for saturday and sunday have to be deliver on monday. I working with Derpy Hooves and Trotting Mail together. There always only 2 working, except for monday. Good, that Ponyville is not that big, I'm sorry for the ponies in Canterlot, Manehattan or in other big cities. But no time to think random stuff. I put my saddlebag on, where the mail comes in and start making breakfast. A tasty haysandwich. After finish breakfast, I make my way out of my home. Normally, I need about 5 minutes to my job, but my name says already, in what I'm good ... running. I'm really fast, faster then everypony in Ponyville. Earning lots of bits, working about 15 minutes everyday, because I'm running so fast, that the half hour job is done in 15 minutes or less. On my way, I say "Good morning" to everypony I meet. My chef is already waiting.

"Every monday the same. Me first, then you and Derpy comes to late, like always. Oh, Dinky comes."

Dinky Hooves, the daughter from Derpy, comes to us with an letter in her muzzle. Trotting take the letter from her:
I'm sorry, but I'm ill.
Derpy

"So, she will not come today?"

"Yep. Sorry for ..."

"Hey, you don't have to worry, Dinky. It can get everypony. Say her, it is okay."

Dinky smiles to us and run back to the house they live in.

"So, Light, looks like, we have to do this alone. I take half of Derpy's mails, you take the other half, okay?"

"Sure. I'm fast, I still can do that in under thirty minutes, haha!"

"Okay, I put the half on your saddlebags and then you can run, Runner."

Trotting put half of Derpy's mail in my saddlebags until he give me the sign to run. I take a deep breath and start running. House to house, run, stop, mail in mailbox, run to next house. The same procedure every day. Some ponies would be yawing, but for me it's an daily challenge, always break my time record. But with the extra load of mails from Derpy, I can forget that anyway.
