The only explanation I can think of for that, is that Twilight is technically the main character of the show...

This would be legitimate if the show was called "Twilight Sparkle & friends" and the other ponies had minor roles.

But, with the whole concept of Mane 6, it just doesn't work...

Well, based on the finale's episode name, she apparently is Swirly...

Well, what I meant by that is that all throughout the first season Twilight would be the one to write the friendship letter, and the first episode was about her as well.

 

Anyway, is Twilight actually getting her own kingdom?

Yeah, I think giving Twilight her very own kingdom is going a bit too far.

 

You know what I think they should have done? Make Twilight a wizard like StarSwirl the bearded, and have her create new spells.

I feel the same way, though if they don't give her a kingdom, it then it makes no sense as to why she was turned into a princess.

 

Though sadly they had to turn her into a princess because of Hasbro, so they are sort of stuck with her.
