 I don't think that's a reference Nom. That sort of "Style" wasn't created by God of War. And he doesn't really look all that much like Kratos anyway.

The whole "Red scar over eye thing" has existed since before God of War.

 

 It's possibly a reference, but I don't even think most God of War fans would see it as such while looking at that. He doesn't really resemble Kratos.
