Boom. I've had it like this for a while. Trying to learn Dvorak knowing QWERTY your whole life....that's a challenge.

Yeah, I know what you mean, I still haven't built all my speed back up, so although it's easier to type, I can't do it as quickly

It's extremely difficult for me as my job has me sitting at a computer 8 hours a day. I can either use QWERTY at which I can type 85+ words per minute or Dvorak where I can type only 5 - 15 words per minute. 

 

I'd believe that someone with quick fingers like me could go 110+ using Dvorak, but when I use QWERTY at my job and come home and try learning on Dvorak....it's just extraordinarily difficult. 

 

I think I'm just going to disable QWERTY on my keyboard at home so I'm forcing myself to use it.

It just feels so weird because my fingers need to moooooooove lol....but typing on Dvorak,it's pretty much impossible....

That could be helpful, though honestly, I'm not sure I'd switch the physical keyboard if I could redo that though, I made the mistake of switching the physical keyboard layout on my keyboard, and I'm still having trouble not looking down, which makes touch typing a bit hard

 

That's just my opinion though, so feel free to take it with the entire salt shaker

Like a place to share tips and ideas for helping get better at typing

When editing my signature, I put in the text that I want to be a link (in this case, "Help us count to a million!"). Then I go to the URL that I want to be the destination. For this thread, I just use the first page, which just means deleting everything after the word million in the URL.

 

Copy the URL to your clipboard. then go back to your signature editor and highlight the text you want to make your hyperlink

 

Push the button that's in the red box in the picture below

 

A dialog opens. Paste the URL into the dialog box and press OK or enter on your keyboard (I use a lot of hotkeys so I just Ctrl+V and quickly hit Enter). Save it and bask in the greatness that is your new hyperlink!

 

Or you can do it Nomed Deps' way and be cooler than me :okiedokielokie:
