Either way, when we say "vectoring", we really mean drawing vector images. I mean, yeah, the vector will be subsequently exported to regular raster images, albeit at a high resolution, for show at DA, but still, the image is still made on vector DNA...

 

I use Ponyscape, it's basically Inkscape with a few added features that make the vectoring process easier, like this one...

I can't say "saying "drawing" is too mainstream" either. Otherwise, people would be mistaking traditional paper-drawn cartoon horses or related as vectors in the long term if that becomes mainstream...

Yeah but it kind of leaves rastering out in the cold.  If "drawing" is on pen and paper, and vectoring is with vectors, then what do you call drawing a digital raster image?

Im using Paint Tool Sai for vectoring though it has a few annoying features that I don't like.
