Ratchet, Jak, and Sly were all awesome on the PS2. Loved those games.

 

I'm kinda turning into a bit of a DK fanboy now, since I keep going on about it, but it's honestly quickly re-become one of my favorite game series. So, I've picked out one of my favorite levels from the most recent one that sort of showcases something I really like about the game. Just take a quick look at this level, since I think it nails a lot of things I like about the games.

Ratchet is still being made Flutter, I think the last game was only like a year or two ago.

 

 Sly hasn't had a game since Thieves in Time though.

 

Both are getting movies though.

Since, I'm not sure anyone's actually even watched that video...I'll just explain what I liked about that level anyway. It's actually largely due to the tone of the level. The music is sad, desperate, the area is dark, filled with fire and flames, it's a Savannah on fire, and it's actually kind of dark in tone. Most of the game is very happy and cheerful, and bright and colorful. Even the earlier levels in the Savannah world are like that, but this one is the complete opposite.

 

 The game doesn't have a very serious story, and it's all cartoony and cheerful. But that is a legitimately "Grim" level in how it's presented. If I was a kid that level might have legitimately made me uneasy and a bit panicky. I like the bright and colorful, and happy levels quite a bit, but a level like that is really interesting. It's got real atmosphere to it, all the levels in that game do actually, and there's a large variety of them. It feels unique. The level's actually pretty challenging too.

 

 It's a level from a "Kid's" game. But I can take it actually a bit seriously, and it's a big contrast to most of the rest of the game. I really like that, I'd like to see more games do that. "Kid's" games that don't take themself too seriously, but still can have an atmosphere, and some legitimate emotion to something, even for a little bit.

 

 DKC: TF is challenging, atmospheric, and tries hard to make every level feel unique. It's a game made to be appropriate for kids, not a game designed to be suitable only for them, as some people seem to think.

I remember how everypony got tricked for MGSV

 

The game first was announced as "The Phantom Pain" by a new game company called Moby Dick Studios. The trailer showed a weakenend men with a bandage over his right eye, a rake as one hand and seemingly beeing in a coma for 9 years. The hospital gets attacked and with the help of another patient you try to crawl(Hey, he lied 9 years in coma, can you run normally? XD). Trough the trailer he keeps strange, mayby traumatic, visions, a burning man, a flying man in a elevator, a guy riding on a burning horse anf even a burning whale, eating a helicopter. The men escapes at the end.

 

Most people where like, "Whoa!" but some had already a strange feeling and tried to research the trailer all over, slowly coming to the idea, it could be a new MGS

 

SPOILERS!

 

 

 

One thing was the title cover, why you can see above

 

ut also the seemingly main characterlooks damn close to Big Boss from the chronological previous game MGS Peace Walker

 

the hair style, the beard, the missing right eye, the body structure ... all extreme close to Big Boss

 

Also the, seemingly traumatized visions he met

 

The burning horse could be a reference to The Boss's horse in MGS3 that died in Peace Walker.

The burning man looks pretty similiar to Volgin from MGS3(Who died trough burning after 2 lightnings hit him)

And the flying man in the elevator could be Psycho Mantis from MGS1, just younger

 

And even the chief of Moby Dick Studios name, could be, when turning the letters, formed into "Hideo Kojima"

 

Aftera new trailer the trick got revived and it was right, it was MGSV

 

Could also be possible that characters from other MGS games, that play later, appear, just in young. There is already a young boy called Eli, who looks close to Liquid Snake from MGS1

There a Ratchet and Clank movie coming out next year. Not too sure what to think about it, I just hope they go the series justice. Ratchet and Clank 2 is my favourite game. Ever. For real. So I hope it's good

That looked pretty fun, I'll be honest. Never really got into any side scrollers like that tbh, but I can see where the enjoyment come from for sure

Yeah. Sidescrollers are personally some of my favorite games, since I grew up with them a lot. Lately though I've been seeing a lot of people call games like that "Just sidescrollers" as if it's a derogatory term, which I find annoying. It's fine if that's not their kind of game, but treating them like a bad thing isn't really fair.
