I love how my desktop idles high 20s to low 30s

 

I just put a new dab of thermal goop on my laptop, and it probably cut the idle temp down about 5 to 7 degrees. Now I'm idling upper 40s to lower 50s. 

 

 

That's the sad little CPU on my laptop. Bugger's only about probably 1 cm x 2 cm XD

 

I love working on these kinds of things

My CPU is running at 30°C - 40°C, but all my fans are full of dust and run at lowest speed xD

Just increasing the speed of my Noctua CPU fan by 200rpm would probably reduce temperature by 10°C

50 degrees is nothing. I mean, that's pretty standard temps for me when I'm gaming @ stock speeds. My laptop runs 50 degrees at idle XD And that's good for that thing because it's been cranking it up to 60 or 70 lately. 

 

But this stupid think keeps spiking all the way to 90. Why? I don't get it. 

 

So screw it. I'm running stock voltage. 

 

But yeah, 50 is nowhere near the max that your typical CPU can handle. My old laptop that I used to (somehow) play Skyrim on would get reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally close to 100 from time to time.

 

What are we running Skyrim at on that thing? Well, if you can force the resolution to sub HD (like maybe 640 x 360) and run everything at minimum settings, you might squeeze 25 fps out of it.
