Yeah. Sidescrollers are personally some of my favorite games, since I grew up with them a lot. Lately though I've been seeing a lot of people call games like that "Just sidescrollers" as if it's a derogatory term, which I find annoying. It's fine if that's not their kind of game, but treating them like a bad thing isn't really fair.

 

It's probably because people now-a-days associate side scrollers with older games. Today people expect 4k 3D graphics, and aren't used to this game type anymore... Which is quite rediculous imo lol

 True. But sidescrollers can have 3D graphics. 2.5D is usually what that's called, and DKC: TF looks amazing. The art style is gorgeous, the environments are beautiful, and it's all detailed and full of life and style.

 

 Things don't have to look realistic to look good.
