Lol if they forced us to do religious stuff at school here all hell would break loose  Hope it's not too bad =P

"The funniest things happened to me in Sweden the other day!" lmao :D

Oh and Joe Theismann. :( I've seen that before. Horrifying injury.

I love how laid back he is about it all aha. Gotta love his reaction to the whole thing :P Tbh it wouldn't have been the same seeing him sitting down and performing. I haven't seen that injury, I'll have to look it up.

Anyway, I gotta sleep.... Here's some more Foo. Night! :D

Guh. I can't find good tickets for cheap to that concert in September :o

I could spend $45 on a ticket but that'd be in the nosebleeds and that's no way to go to a show.

But decent seats are somewhere around $300 :(

And who knows when the Foo will be back in Oklahoma City?  :(

Any ticket will be worth it imo. I'd do anything to see them live after what's happened  I'd just go for the tickets you feel comfortable with... Hell I'd pay $300 if I could though :squee:

Like you said, it might be a while before they come back, I'd take any ticket available... you'll probably see them sooner than me now xD

If I can get my credit card balance low enough and keep everything else paid for, I might get a mid-level seat. I'd pay $200 to go see them. :squee:

Do you attend a public school, Filly? I don't know about separation of church and state in the Philippines, but if it's a public school, required mass sounds illegal to my American ears.

It's not much better in many southern US states, but at least forced religious activity in public schools is ostensibly illegal there.

In small towns like my hometown of 300 people, you kinda grow up where literally everyone in town goes to church. Your parents take you to church from a young age. Now, I agree with separation of church and state because I would be angry if I found out there was a teacher teaching my kids jihadist principles. At the same time, I could see how a Buddhist family would be upset if their kid's teacher was teaching them Christian principles. So yes, separation of church and state is necessary.

But I remember Filly did say at some point that Catholicism pretty much the official religion of the Philippines.

Anyway I'm browsing Stub Hub and I think I just found a ticket I want. :D

Ticketmaster lists unsold tickets. So seating there is sparse. Stub Hub, however, is a marketplace where people sell their tickets to other people. So seating there will be better. Prices, however, may not. People can buy a bunch of tickets really early in and then sell them on Stub Hub and make more than $40 a ticket.

But I just found a really good ticket for $80. The price seems too good to be true because the rest of the tickets in that area are double or triple that....

UGH. I really wanna go see that show...

I'm gonna wait a few weeks and see what happens and see where I am financially. I might have to get a $40 nosebleed ticket. That'd be better than not seeing the show at all, ya know?

I have sorta returned. :comeatus:

Actually, we don't have any state religion indaPilipins. It's just that the church and state separation is not enforced properly, like pretty much anything in da Pilipinas. That's why we have politicians sponsored by the church themselves.

And for the schooling part, I actually attend a private, Catholic school (Because that's the only decent educational institution here anyways ) , where Christian prayer would obviously be held everyday, so not really sure about prayer in public schools here.

Though we had a prayer before a government-run achievement test, so it's possible they also do that in public schools, though still, don't quote me on that.

But yeah, prayer in public schools should be illegal. Yes, we may be predominantly Catholic and stuff, but, well, predominant doesn't mean everyone in the country, and allowing Christian only prayers on otherwise "non-sectarian" public schools would definitely make your atheist classmate or Muslim classmate, or whatever classmate feel alienated from the others, so yeah.

When I was a Christian I thought that prayer being banned in public schools meant that students weren't allowed to pray by themselves.

So I opposed the separation of church and state because I didn't even know what it even was.

That was pretty easy when I listened to David Barton's pseudohistory bullshit.

I really :maud: ified that name pretty badly.

So I want to post this video here, but the dude is naked (though there's a censor bar...just not gonna risk it)

Anyway he gets out of the shower. His girlfriend is there and she blindfolds him saying she's got a birthday surprise for him (it's his birthday by the way). She leads him to a chair and takes his towel off. He's like "Are you undressing yourself?" :D and she's like, "You'll see..." She gets him to sit in the chair. What he doesn't know is that she put wax on the chair. So he sits in the chair and doesn't notice it at first. She lets him take off the blindfold and he's like, "Uhh...I'm just sitting naked in the chair..." She tells him, "You can get up now."

He tries then immediately stops. "You glued me to the chair??" :o

He proceeds to slowly try to pull himself from the chair, screaming in horror and agony the entire time. Really awful thing to do to someone but it was hilarious prank material. :D

They called it "Birthday Surprise Butt Waxing Prank" if you want to look it up. Just be aware there's a naked dude but they covered it up in editing .

Don't judge a book by its cover. You will truly understand it if you're just willing to read it.
