Revy ~ Two Hands

Recommended Posts

Who here is familar with/ was or is a fan of the spoonyone? Personally I liked his stuff back in late 08' and 09' the most, and only really tune in now for his very occasional video game reviews such as his minority report review, and his the the ring terror's realm review. Which where extremely funny imo. Also since we are on the subject his channel trailer on YouTube is pretty amsusing. Anyhow what do you think of Spoony past and present MLP Forums? ^^

I am, I loved his play-though of Phantasmagoria 2 and his Pumpkinhead II review. Pretty much his whole "FMV HELL" series is gold.

As for his movie reviews, he did a good job on the Highlander retrospective where he reviewed all the bad Highlander stuff. His reaction to the bad cover of "Princes of the Universe" in The Source is hilarious,

Countermonkey(a show where he talks about DnD and tells stories about his experinces with it regaurding differnt subjects and problems you might run into playing) is good to. Especially the one about the ancient pizza and the whole bit about the forgotten pants.

I've been watching him since I was in High-School,.

I'll admit, I like Noah a lot, but his reviews never appealed to me. I guess because the very first one I watched was his Twilight Breaking Dawn vlog, where he gets completely smashed and rambles off into nothingness. I felt very bad for him.

Also, what was that whole kerfuffle with him and Obscurus Lupa? (I never watched her reviews, to be perfectly honest; her voice is a little flat.)

Since I'm a hardcore video game history enthusiast ;) I like his video game reviews (for the comedy) and his Ultima Retrospective was awesome. Someone put practically the whole thing on YouTube. That's 4 and half and a half hours long.

One day I shall make friends with someone nerdy enough to want to get drunk and watch that with me. Followed by some MLP ;) One day...

Ah 'later spoony'. Where his vlogs became long and incoherent and on rare occasion even drunken. This is the worst spoony had to offer. Since I'm not a dnd fan nor do I like to sit through 90 minute vlogs most of his new content isn't for me. But when he makes a game review it's gold even if that only happens like 3 times a year now :(

Yeah, some his his stuff from that period is really off-putting, from his broken and depressed attitude to the unusually dark and demented humor where he jokes about "Spoony(the character) being a serial killer in a couple of his movie reviews. There's thankfully not a whole lot of it though.

His Deadliest Warrior rant with his brother was good as far the Vlogs though.

Can't forget this, it's a good example of him at this best(and the fact it makes a joke of the games obscure nature and not be able to find anything on it adds to it quite a bit) :

I can't believe Lordkat burned spoony after this. He acted like a total dousche in the podcast he made after Spoony got kicked from TGWGT.

I've been a fan of Noah's since he was still working his way through Final Fantasy 8. Since then he's done X, X-2 and XIII, and hopefully he moves on to XIII-2 after he rage quit the previous game.

Spoony also has the entire thing on a playlist on his recently revived Youtube page. I find it makes good background noise when I'm working on something for long periods of time. The Ultima retrospective could actually be seen as his crowning achievement really, especially the ending when you can pretty much feel the hatred and anger he exudes at the travesty that was once his favorite gaming series.

God, I couldn't even get five minutes in. That was just plain immature on his part to do.

And if thinks Noah is even HALF as bad as the Amazing Atheist, he's apparently not aware of of have that things that man has done(he once used rape-based insults and threats to screw with a RAPE VICTIM, just because she pissed him off.). AA is literally one of the few people to make the other TGWTG staff legitimately uncomfortable(most the staff that worked with him while he was there expressed that working with him made them genuinely uncomfortable). They had to let him go after only a few months because he stired up so much shit.

That comparassion is a low blow I wouldn't wish on anyone.

In especially bad because TGWTG hold no ill will and Doug even had him back for a part in the final big special.

I think his Ultima Underworld reviews where the best in that retrospective. Short and concise

I loved his Dr. Insano character! Why? Because science of course!

In terms of his reviews, I didn't really watch too many of them. I do particularly remember watching his review on final fantasy X2, it was very funny. It was also pretty interesting considering I played FFX but not the direct sequel...

Oh, I think I've watched a few of his videos, but I don't remember loving them. Maybe I just watched the wrong ones or something, since it appears that you guys say he has some that aren't very good. To me he seemed kind of boorish. I'll check out the ones you posted, though.

If you saw any of his vlogs then they probably where. He puts out a lot of boring stuff but some occasional gold can be found too.

Well this thread has died a bit of a death. Probably to no avail I'll attempt to revive it. Since we've talked about some of spoony's better stuff I suppose it'd be fair to talk about some of this worse stuff. And also what might be considered his decline. In other words most of what he puts out are board game reviews, vlogs, counter monkey (essentially a vlog about dnd) and some odds and ends.

Personally what I liked spoony for was his game reviews (and he is probably the only reviewer who I will go back and rewatch stuff or dig through to find old game reviews I may not have seen before) I'll watch the AVGN, and Irate Gamer, and zero puncutation but really I'm pleasantly suprised when they put out good stuff it's usually just okay these days maybe because they all have rather tired formulas.

My only guess for why Spoony doesn't put out regular game reviews is the time it takes, which is fair. Playing through a whole game, getting footage, constructive a narrative for the script with pro's and cons and then on top of that having to be funny can't be easy.

Was watching this review it seems to be one from what I will call his 'good' period' he seems to have lost most of his energy the last 2 years or so, with only maybe half a dozen great videos and another half dozen decent videos coming out during that time.
