Need help for a new OC

Hello,

So I'm working on my OC,and I need help with her design. At first I thought making her coat blue like here on my avatar. But I've been told that the blue was a bit too dark and that she'd look better with a grey coat. So I tried it and I think it looks nice as well: So I'd like to know which one you guys prefer and if you have more ideas to suggest

Thanks a lot

NB: I might not be able to answer right away because I'm on vacation currently ^^

The grey does look quite a bit better for some reason. Maybe it's just my taste, but I think it really makes the colors more prevalent. Just my opinion.

The blue coat doesn't match very well with her mane, but the gray one looks a little too pale. I'd just keep going for something in between, or try going for a sky/light blue.

I agree with Wingin'Wolf.

With that shade of gray, you can hardly see her Cutie Mark, Maybe a light blue or even something like Battleship gray if you did still want to use gray.

Ok, so first of all sorry for not answering quickly (I was on vacation...)  So here's the last version of my OC. I used the battleship grey Skycoaster talked about and I think it does look good, especially because the cutie mark is much more visible.

Feedback please?

Well... what is the OC like? What's her character? Red and Orange can go great together but for my stealthy OC, that wouldn't as well. Try to focus on your OC's personality (Is she bold? Quick tempered? Flirtatious? Calm? Is she happy? depressed? Does she live an orderly life? Or HAIL DISCORD!) and choose you're color scheme and shades based on that.

However, now for the options present. Personally, I like the light gray version best.

I am an expert in whatever you don't call me out for not really being, and don't know enough about to realize I have no clue what I'm doing   :)

Actually, she's a calm pony. She likes the calm and dislikes loud noises. She's afraid of failure and needs to be shown affection. This is why I chose colder tones of colors as it fits more with her calm and shy nature.

edit:

here are new possibilities

  • 1 year later...

maybe you could try changing her coat to a lighter blue. Personally i dont think the bold colors on her coat look

the best with her pale mane. But another idea is to maybe darken her mane a bit and see how that turns out :)

Hm... I say considering you've already made her mane and tail exceedingly pale, either go with a bold colour for the body or go all out pale (like fluttershy). If you go all out pale, I'd suggest a super light gray, a really light blue, or maybe even a creamy beige to strike the balance between her mane an tail.
