I used to be able to write poetry. I cannot anymore, due to having stabilized mentally. I thought I'd share!

 

Sisters


Many people have a sister,
Some feel they are worse than a blister.
It is true, they do, come and go,
They make you feel you have far to grow.
They make you feel they are a foe,
Especially when they tread on your toe.
And when they ignore you, well, that’s what they do!
Annoying they can quite often be,
Some how they never seem to agree.
Always wanting there own say,
But, you see, they view you the same way.

You used you figure of speech very well. Very impressed with the rhymes actually. But unfortunately I don't like making poems.

It was one of the poems that needed to rhyme, not all of them do. I find rhymes just don't fit some poems.

 

And if anyone wants me to post more poems, please let me know and I will.

How come? It's not something hard to do and as far as I know you don't have to be mentally unstable to write, but I guess there's more into this which is why I am asking.

For most people, no. For me... I think it was a kind of release mechanism. I would love to have the old creativity back, but not the instability.

You can get it back. You just need to make some effort, that's all.

I write poetry in Serbian, if I knew English better I'd probably write in English as well.

The way my poetry has always worked is I would get an inspirational flash of a line or two, and write the rest from there. Whenever I deliberately sat down and tried to write poetry, I couldn't.
