I can relate to this, it seems people who generally have intelligent discussions about the universe and all that jazz are few and far between in a high-school setting.

 

But here's the funny thing, we're not the normal ones. 

 

That's not bad though, but when it comes to society around our age people are compelled to act like morons to get attention. I even end up doing this sometimes a lot. If you don't, then I guess you're not normal and/or sane.

I used to think I was a sane person surrounded by many idiots when browsing the Internet.  It almost didn't matter what the topic was about, everywhere I looked I only saw an immense group of half-wits.  Nowadays I know that it isn't the case; I am just as stupid as everyone else.  In fact I feel as though I'm slowly losing my own mind.

I just don't hang out with many people, as most of them are idiots really, but yes, that's how I feel, Like yesterday in class my friend asked me this "What's a Queer?" I mean, really.. Just... Urghhh

Well when I used to go to my old public high school for my freshman year, I could definitely relate to how you were feeling. Everyone around me seemed just crazy and ignorant. The guys seemed like idiotic empty-headed jocks and a good portion of the high school girls seemed like airheaded bimbos.

 

But now that I am in my senior year, and going to a private school, I don't see it as often. I'm surrounded by more intelligent people and all my friends are luckily not like the idiots I've once known.

 

Sure I see some stupidity in the freshmen grade and maybe some sophomores at my new school, but that's understandable, maturity differs from grade to grade. I'm just thankful it's nowhere near the extent that I had to deal with back in the large public high schools.

 

It's much more calm here. But yeah, back in freshman year, in the public highschool, I could definitely relate to you.

No, not really. Most people I actually talk to and hang around with, seem to smarter than I am or just as smart. Most of the time I felt like the idiot of the group.

Meh not really. Probably because me and my friends are all intelligent people. But when they bring up the subject of me being a brony. They turn into total morons. One of them thinks that all bronies jack off to MLP and will not change his opinion no matter how many times I tell him it's not true. The other two just sort of poke fun at me which they usually don't do. Those times are the only times I feel as if all my friends are idiots.

Hey, others might also think that they're the most brilliant-est one in the room and see you in the same light you see them in

Luckily all my friends have turned out to be for the most part smart.

I think we get this feeling all the time when we see girls on TV raving about the latest pop celebrities. 

 

If you mean local phenomena, then I can't really think of many cases where that happened; they were smart folks.

I don't feel like that often, but every once in a while I feel like everyone else is locked in place in their mind, like when they refuse to change their opinions, even if the facts are wrong. I find myself thinking "Would you please just listen to the facts!" because they refuse to acknowledge they were wrong.

Ever felt like you were the only sane person in the world because everypony else seems to be an, ahem, idiot? I ask out of curiosity because a friend of mine found a worm on the concrete at school, and everypony else was gathered around him and daring him to eat it. I couldn't help but think 'man all you guys are idiots'.

Ah, yes, I definitely agree. You've struck a chord with me, and now I suddenly feel imbibed with a strong sense of wisdom. I've never thought such an insightful post would make me feel so sagacious and aware of my basic surroundings. It makes me want to share a tale of my own!

 

Why, the only thing I know that may be even more stupid than that occurence is bearing witness to something that is dumb, legally ambiguous, foolish, or any activity in general that could render physical danger to a human being . . . and not doing anything about it.

 

There's nothing more annoying than idiots calling out on someone else's inanity while they themselves pose as a facilitator in every given circumstance.

 

I once knew a gentleman who knew some moron who decided that drug trafficking in his classroom would be a great idea. Instead of standing up for what's right after assessing the situation and then taking immediate action against this Adolescent Amphetamine-whatever it was cartel, he rants like another moron on Facebook . . . once again yielding a small cult following who agree.

 

A stupid problem in our society is that people often praise others for what wisdom they seemingly hold over others and for talking about what they should do . . . as opposed to what they should be doing and what wisdom they gain from the experience.
