Epic Rainbow was trotting to her kitchen so she could make some lunch when a letter from Princess Cadance popped out of thin air and landed on her nose. She opened the letter and it read,

Dear Epic Rainbow,

You must come to the Crystal Empire as soon as possible. I have something very important for you to help me with. One of the Crystal Ponies has been rather depressed as he has not found the mare right for him. He wants somepony to fall in love with, he just can't find the right mare. I also have an exam for you to complete so you may move on to the next level of your studies. Don't worry if you fail, because if you do, though I doubt you will, I'll let you retake it. It's nothing serious like King Sombra, just an exam.

Epic finished reading the letter and flew upstairs to her bedroom to start packing for the trip. She called some of her best friends to come with her, for moral support.

Flare was sitting in his home playing video games till he heard his phone rang. "Odd...wouldn't think anyone would call me" Flare said as he picked up the phone with his hoof. "I wonder who would be calling me...and what would it be about" Flare thought as he answered. "Hello who is this" Flare asked

Glacier arrived in the Crystal Empire in a particularly sour mood. After finding out that as part of her rehabilitation she had to assist in a project being overseen by a princess, she instantly repelled by thought. If there was one thing she hated more than working with other ponies, it was when those othe ponies were monarchy. But if she was ever going to return to her regular life, it was something she had to do.

 

'Gr... let's get this done with quickly. At least they were nice enough to let me have privacy. I'd snap if I was followed everywhere. Glacier thought.

 

With slight hesitation, Glacier began to walk towards the castle.

"Aura stepped off the train as it arrived in the Crystal Empire and grabbed her things with her magic. "Finally here...I wonder if I can actually learn something while im here" Aura said remembering that her parents sent her here. "Well they did say the princess sent me a letter"

Flare ended the call after hearing what the person had to say. "I can believe it...I have to go to the Crystal to meet Princess Cadence" Flare said surprised and confused why he needs to go to the Crystal Empire. "Well I need to pack my stuff and then head off" Flare said as he packed most of his stuff and flew off the the crystal empire

Ember adjusted his saddlebags as he got off of the train, looking around slowly.  Wow, the Crystal Empire...  I've never been this far from home before!  I wonder where I should start?  He glanced around the train station before shrugging.

 

"May as well start at the castle...  Maybe they'll have someone there who can point me in the right direction.  I wonder if any of the crystals around here would create interesting reactions...  I really need to stop talking to myself.  I should go meet up with the others."

Epic Rainbow got off the train in the Crystal Empire and flew as fast as she could to the castle. She was so excited to see her mentor again. When she got to the castle, the guards greeted her warmly, knowing she was Cadance's personal apprentice. She got to the mane room of the castle where Princess Cadence was. She gallopped up to her and gave her a hug. "Epic," Cadence said. "I'm so glad to see you! Did you bring some of your friends?" "Yup," replied Epic. "I also brought Renegade, my boyfriend. You remember him, don't you?" "Of course," said Cadence.

(Woah. That was quick.)

Renegade got off the train with a pained look on his face. "Maybe I shouldn't have drank that 3-litdf of cola. Oh, hello Cadance. Mind if IF use the bathroom?" Renegade asked in a strained voice. Renegade was trying to hold it in as long as he could. Hopefuly Epic and her teacher wouldn't talk long.

Minty trotted off the train that took her to the Crystal Empire. "Wow, I actually get to meet Princess Cadance! PRINCESS! Wow, I hope I'm ready.. does royalty expect to much? Meh, I'll just wing it. It's not like anything BAD will happen.. right?" Minty waved to the cheerful crystal ponies she's passed, then knocked on the castle doors. "Well, I hope I can see Epic Rainbow. I hadn't seen her in weeks."

The princess giggled along with her apprentice. "Of course you can use the bathroom, Renegade," said Cadence. "You know where it is right? It's right down that hallway, second door on the right." Epic kissed her boyfriend on the cheek before he gallopped off to the bathroom. A few moments later he returned. "So," Epic said. "On my way to the castle I found the pony you told me about a girlfriend. So, when do I take my exam thingy?" "Oh, right," replied Cadance. "The Crystal Heart has gone missing...sort of. I hid it like King Sombra did. Just, not in the same place. I need you to find it. But it must be you alone who ultimately powers it once you find it. Maybe Renegade can help a little bit. So, once you do the Crystal Heart thing you'll be very very greatly rewarded, trust me. For now, you can get some rest. You can start your test in the morning. You may share a room with Renegade, if you want. It really doesn't matter to me." Epic trotted to her room with Renegade by her side. They walked into the bedroom and put down their saddlebags. They got into bed and after a few seconds Epic fell asleep. Princess Cadance went to her and Shining Armor's room and got into bed where her husband was already sleeping.

Flare arrived at the front of the crystal castle and landed and saw Epic already heading off. "Geez by the time I get here she already heads off...didnt even get to tell her hi" Flare said as he looked around a bit. "Never been here before...well I have but just a short bit" Flare said to himself

Renegade sat on the bed, quite relieved. It was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of Ponyvile. Renegade looked at Epic Rainbow sleeping, then cuddled up next to her and fell asleep as well. He began mumbling a song in his sleep.

"We will, we wil rock you.." he mutered. He sjbconciously hugged Epic Rainbow and sighed.

OOC~ Just so everypony is aware, we all know each other. In fact, we're all best friends! Well, except Princess Cadence and maybe Glacier because she's a sourpuss. So, everypony except Renegade needs to edit those posts to show that we're all friends already! It says in the first post in this thread that Epic Rainbow called her best friends to go with her! It's the last sentence in the first post! Besides, did any of you even read the first post?

Aura wandered through the empire trying to get to the castle. "I swear how can I get lost when its just right there" Aura said as she tripped and dropped most of her stuff. "Dang it" Aura said as her horn glowed and she picked up her stuff and continued onward

Renegade was fast asleep, cuddling Epic Rainbow like a teddy bear. He pulled her close to him and breathed on her neck. However, he hadn't brushed his teeth that morning...He continued to mumble and sing a bit in his sleep. This time the song went like this:

We are the champions, my friends...

And wr'll keep on fighting til the end...

OOC~ It's okay and Renegade is my boyfriend, so he can't be the 'quiet guy who stands back' so yeah   Also, everypony, Epic, Renegade, and Cadance are in bed already.

 

IC~ The next morning, Epic Rainbow woke up from the sunshine. Renegade was still sound asleep. Epic tried not to wake her boyfriend, but she was being so careful that she tripped and fell, making a loud thud sound. Epic got up, and saw that he was still asleep. She then decided to just fly to breakfast.

"Finally, the castle!  Are the others already here..?"  Ember glanced around for his friends, wondering what the quickest way to find any of them would be.  "Hmm....  I know, I'll just let them know where I'm at and see if any of them find me!"

 

With a nervous smile at any nearby crystal ponies, Ember quickly dug around in his saddlebags.  With his broken horn glowing he lifts out a few small pouches, combines the powders inside, then drops the combination into a small tube.  He sends a spark from his horn into the tube and FWOOSH!  The firework launches into the air before exploding into a shower of green and white sparks.  

 

"There...  Anypony who knows me will recognize THAT!  And I'm still talking to myself, aren't I."

Renegade woke up to find that Epic was gone. "Must be up already." he muttered. As he walked to the kitchen, he thought about what happened last night. He got himself a cup of coffee and sat down next to his girlfriend. "Morning, Epic." he greeted casually. He sipped his drink with a tired look on his face.

Flare yawned as he looked at the sky. "I probably should have went to sleep...Well to late for that now" Flare said as he was wondering why Epic called him for. "Sure isnt anything exciting thats for sure" Flare said as he yawned again

After no answer, Minty turned back around in defeat. "Might as well find something to eat.. I'm starved! Where's the food in this place?" Minty looked around while trotting back into the town. She saw a huge spark and thought, "Funny.. that seemed.. familiar." Minty thought, trotting curiously towards the strange yet appealing sight. She saw an old friend, Ember, seeing that he was the one who created the amazing firework. "Ember! It's been so long!"

"Morning, Renegade," greeted Epic. "How'd you sleep? Oh, we better get started on that Crystal Heart thing. I wonder if Cadance is awake yet?" Epic and Renegade trotted to the main room of the castle and saw Cadance and Shining Armor there. "Good morning," said Cadence. "Are you ready to look for the Crystal Heart?" "Ready as I'll ever be," replied Epic.

"Yeah, I'm ready!" Renegade said enthusiastically. He, like Epic, was vdry excited. "Wait a minute...what part do IT have in this gest?" the unicorn asked curiously. He was eager to know. Renegade sipped his coffee contently. "Ahhhh..." he sighed. Renegade waitec patiently for Cadance's answer.

Ember smiled as he heard a familiar voice, turning towards the sound.  "Minty!"  He quickly gathered up his things before trotting over to meet the pegasus, much more energetic now that he's found a familiar face.  "Heh, I knew someone would find me if I set off a firework!  It's been way too long since I last saw everyone!  Do you know where any of the others are?"  He tilts his head a little as he asks the question, his smile more happy than nervous now.  "I mean, I assume Epic is already at the castle...  I always look like I was recently on the wrong end of a fire though, and I didn't think the guards would let me in by myself."

Minty smiled. "The wrong side of a fire? Ha, it's not like you're some predator! You're completely harmless!" Minty said, hugging the stallion. "Should we head to the castle? I tried to go in before, yet nopony answered. I guess Epic Rainbow was elsewhere, huh?" Minty said.
