I honestly think this is the most excited I've ever been for a game. Halo was a major part of my childhood, and is a defining factor of me as a a gamer. (And yes, Halo 2 was one of the highlights of my childhood. Is that bad?)

Spamming the shit out of everything until the promised item is within my firm and unwavering grasp. I can taste it now.

Halo 1 was the first game I ever played. Literally, and Halo 2 was the main and only game of my childhood. I know how ya feel. Also, whats the promised item?

The promised item is the disc itself. I always love having hard copies of everything. Music, games, all that stuff. It feels real to me.

And I played Halo 2 when it came out, loved it, got CE, and went in from there. Obviously back then it was "SHOOT TEH ALIENS AHHH!" but it was still always my favorite series. Now of course I appreciate the story and all. It's alot deeper than I an 8(?) year old could comprehend xD

Sigh.. good memories... I remember when I was young on halo 2 and had infinite problems killing an Elite honor guard on easy. Then I came back when I was older and it was easy as hell XD.

Oh I know the feel. I had trouble at every engagement with any type of enemy.

Especially the Flood :P

Anywho, I must depart and get ready. Every one is getting antsy and someone is cosplaying as Chief.

The Legendary ending made me both figuratively and literally shit myself. I can die happy now from the last 2 and a half seconds of the game.

Anyone else think that it was REALLY easy though? You get checkpoints extremely frequently and it seemed easier to sit back and snipe because of the open level design.

REALLY easy

Yea, 343 said they amped up the difficulty on legendary, honestly I found it easier then all the other halos. Granted the AI was a little smarter but still , I like my games difficult.

When the camera started zooming on johns helmet at the end, I thought to myself like this is it, finally John's face, and then it just showed his eyes. I was like, why would you tease me so bad 343 but no I'm happy with that.

What did you think of the storyline?

What did you think of the storyline?

It was kind of weird and definitely strayed from the typical Halo campaign. It was really good and had me on the edge of my seat for pretty much the whole thing. Also, the missions were all really memorable and had you in cool locations and had great scenery. Walking out onto the ridge in the second mission with the Forerunner skyscrapers was an unforgetable scene. The whole game is beautiful.

Also, when I was playing through I thought this (Spoilers in my theory)

I thought that Chief would use the Composer to turn Cortana into a human. The Librarian said that it was created to bridge the gap between bioligical and synthetic life and basically make them immortal. I think it would have worked on Cortana...

Also, RIP Tillson :(

Ive been playing this soooo much. I beat the campaign with my friend on friday and I'm level 35 right now. I was a little dissapointed by the forge but nothing else has bothered me.

Its brought some problems though since I played it so much tuesday and it turns out that was the only day my girlfriend wasn't busy so that makes me sad :C but I'll have more chances to be with her

So I finished the campaign of Halo 4 today. I thought it was a bit short, but it was pretty good. The multiplayer is pretty fun too. Overall, the game seems to me like a cross between Halo 3 and Halo:Reach.

Yeah, it's more episodic, but they had the intent of making it that way.

Multiplayer I got to play too, I unlocked the Raider helmet through Halo Waypoint and frankly I like it. It's sorta the successor to the Hayabusa helmet from Halo 3, but more practical looking and less goofy. I'm using it right now, and compared to about 60% of the helmets that look like crap (or a Dead Space knock off), this one is in the good category.

I am also pleased beyond belief that the DMR remains, my weapon of choice in the game.

Halo 4 was a pretty mixed bag in my opinion. I wish 343i had handled the lore better though. I've read all the books and the Terminals and motivations of the Didact went against a lot established in the Forerunner Saga of books.

What did the Halo 4 Didact go against the Forerunner Saga Didact? I've never read those books just because i've never got the chance, but i've did a fair bit of research and I never encountered a problem between the two's personality.

Well for starters, the Ur-Didact didn't hold this insane grudge against humans that he has in Halo 4. The Bornsteller-Didact also had two human friends that he ended up caring about. The game doesn't really say which Didact is in Halo 4, but a rabid, evil Didact doesn't fit the character of either from the books.

It's Ur-Didact. Read it up on a wiki once. Also, did ya watch the Halo 4 terminals? They explain a lot. It might help you understand.

The wikis have been saying contridictory things. One of the Halo wikis says it is the Bornsteller-Didact. From what you say another says the Ur-Didact. Either way, this unreasonable grudge against humanity doesn't fit either's characters. And I have watched the Terminals, they don't match up with the books much either.

Considering the cover of the third book, Halo: Silentium, I think that may explain his "Grudge". I mean, he looks pretty angry on that cover.

Well the new cover is news to me, for the longest time it was just this one. Have you also read the description of Silentum too? It mentions the Ur-Didact being trapped on a Flood infected star system by the Master Builder. Yet the Terminals don't really leave much room for this.

I just don't buy his sudden hatred given his character in Cryptum.

Here's a picture of the new cover.

The story does seem mysterious, we'll have to see what happens to make the Didact hate humanity.

I enjoyed ODST quite a bit, I tired Halo 3, but I haven't been able to really get into it like I did with ODST. I haven't tried the first two yet.

Ya got into ODST but not Halo 3? The amount of people in the community that have the exact opposite opinion would surprise you.

I think it was the atmosphere and set designs,

My favorite to least favorite games:

Halo 3

-Holds true to the "old" Halo, with awesome graphics and a great story. Fun multiplayer too!

Halo 2

-The first Halo game I have ever played. Same reasoning as Halo 2, except with decreased quality gameplay. The soundtracks are also kickass! As a bonus, very few annoying little kids on classic XBL!

Halo 4

-I did not like the story one bit. I never understood the connection to Cortana. You don't even have to save the world and the story seems forced. On the bright side, the graphics are exceptional and the customizable classes are better than ever. However, 343 did not improve the forge which sucks!

Halo Classic

-The original. Just so much win. Kind of the same reasoning as Halo 2.

Halo: Reach

-It was an okay game, but a lot of the game was experimental with the classes, armor abilities, etc. I feel this is almost an earlier version of Halo 4.

Halo Wars

-An awesome game. However, even though I personally love this one, it deserves a lower rating. Basically, this game attracts RTS fans from Command and Conquer, and Halo fans from Halo 3. The RTS fans will say "this game is good, but I like Command and Conquer better." They leave the game, because Halo Wars is inferior to Command, RTS wise. The Halo fans say "well, this game is okay, but I want to go shoot something." Thus, the game was underappreciated and never went anywhere.

Halo 3: ODST

-You know, I've never disliked any Halo game. I like the recon feel of this game, but... it's kind of the duck in a flock of geese, if you know what I mean. Special, but not superior.

>Didn't improve Halo 4's forge.

>Added tons of new features like Locking items, item highlighting, gravity volumes, trait zones.

Also, you saved the world from the Didact, The connection between Cortana and Mater Chief is one of the most important parts of the story of Halo. Also, where did it seem forced?
