Rain nodded at Shadow. "I actually don't know anything about immortals." She smiled wanly. "Looks like I'm gonna learn."

She turned, purposefully flicking him in the face with her tail, and left.

When she got out she noticed Riza and the baby Boots lying on the ground. She hobbled over quickly. "Are you okay?" she asked worriedly.

Boots flaps his wing furiously and hovers over to Riza

 

"You right lass? ya' wing looks right skrewed."

 

*Riza was breathing heavily.*

"I- I'm fine........ This is just....... an old injury........... Prevents me...... from flying........ for very long..........."

"Is there anything we can do?" asked Rain, glancing at Boots curiously before looking back at Riza.

Shadow stood there his face twitching "I j-just saved you t-two from a cockatrice a-a-and you JUST DO THAT? HIT ME WITH YOU TAIL AND WALK AWAY?, IM THE ONE WHO SAVED EVERYONE! IM THE ONE WHO KNOW WHATS GOING ON! IM THE ONE WHO FIXED BOOTS FROM DESTROYING EVERYTHING! he thought "ugh"he said while his mind was racing "staying here is only making it worse"

Rain looked at the tent, making sure that Shadow couldn't hear her. "Do you know what's up with him?" she whispered to Twister and Boots. "I'm afraid he's going to snap and attack one of us at some point. He's too much of a danger for us to overlook anymore."

Rain turned pale. "Are you serious?" she asked, trying desperately to blank her mind.

"Is there anything we can do?" asked Rain, glancing at Boots curiously before looking back at Riza.

 

"No, its an unhealable wound."

Twister facehoof'd, now seeing Riza injured.

"Riza! Your... wing!"

 

"I guess its time to tell a little story."

*Riza wobbled over to her bag and took out a bright blue plant from it and placed it under her tongue.*

"A long time ago, back when I was just a cub, I had an argument with my father. It wasn't pleasant. My father, was a cruel griffon. He loved nothing more than treating others badly. And me and my mother were his favorite targets. The place I was born in had an unusual living system. There were no marriages by choice, all pairings were decided by the Chief. And he made the pairings fit his own amusement. So he paired the kindest griffon in the village, my mother, with the cruelest one, my father. About 9 years after I was born, my father decided that I was going to be a blacksmith, like he was. But I had been learning herbology from my mother for four years already. And that was what I enjoyed. I liked learning about healing and medicine, I did not want to learn how to make tools that were used to kill. So I protested, I told my father that I would not become a blacksmith. And he beat me. He knew that I loved to fly, and for my insubordination................. he crushed my right wing with his bare claws." *Riza began to cry* "My mother said that she had never seen such a terrible wound, and that there was nothing that could fix it. And that i would never fly right again."

Power Ten was still stanting where he had first seen baby Boots. <I definitely inhaled some poison joke gas. This is way too wierd.> He thought. He went to pick up the remaining flowers and then walked over to where he saw Riza. He ran over when he saw her injured wing, and tears running down her face. Ignoring his normal antisocial tendencies, he walked up and gave her a hug. "I know what thats like." he muttered.

Rain stood there, her face blank. All thoughts of Shadow reading her every thought were pushed aside as a tear rolled down a single cheek.

She touched Riza's shoulder gently and unexpectedly hugged her.

"I'm so sorry, Riza," she said into her feathers, tears now rolling freely down her face.

Why is this world so broken now?

Shadow walked out of his tent "Thats what i ment by "watch your thoughts" a while ago Rain" he said with a crude tone.

Rain let go of Riza's neck, wiping away her tears carefully before stepping over to where Shadow stood, looking up at him. They were nearly nose to nose.

"I'm getting sick of your attitude, you know that? I have no idea what your problem is. You're supposed to protect us but all you've been doing is destroying anything that gets in your way and having mental breakdowns!"

"Problem? whats MY problem? haha...being alive this long can change a pony Rain." he said with a smile

Power Ten, his emotions in a voilent storm from remembering his past, whipped around suddenly and glared at Shadow. Tears had already begun streaming down his face. "Nopony asked you to butt in to their thoughts!" He yelled. He didn't have any reason to hate Shadow, but he was upset, and he needed a target for his angst.

"i can read your thoughts too, you dont hate me...not yet" he said with a snicker.

 

"but i can see whats going on here. before this get out of hand...ill leave...good day to you all." he said and then walked away

"Really now?" yelled Rain furiously, her headstrong attitude getting the better of her as she flew in front of him and slammed to the ground.. "Nopony asked for you! Okay? Nopony likes you! You do more bad then good for this group! I don't care how old you are or how much you've been through! Everypony else here has been through their own experiences, okay? You aren't the ONLY ONE! Your duty is to help us and that...IS WHAT...YOU'RE GOING...TO DO!" she screamed, right in his face.

The mist thickened into a light fog

"GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" Without even thinking, Ten charged Shadow, trying to catch him in a tackle.

"Nopony asked for me, yet you want me to stay? look at what your saying girl, do you want to have that mist come again i will not save you all this time" he then used telekenesis and pushed Rain out of his way.

 

Ten charged him "no" he said as he stopped him in mid air and then threw him 10 feet away.
