Last night I had the wonderfull opprotunity to see The Last Unicorn on the big screen.   It is one of my wifes favorite books and Film.  My wifes mother and our Daughter went with us as well. I'm glad she got to experiance the movie with us.  For me this was my first full viewing as I have just seen bits and pices of it over the years. 

 

Peter S. Beagle  is touring all over doing Q & A and signings at each showing.  It was pleasure to meet and speak with him.

Wait a minute... your telling me...that they are reshowing The Last Unicorn...IN THEATERS??????????? *passes out* my dream is coming true...I will...finally get to see my childhood girl movie...come back to the big screen. Unless... did I miss it?? When is it gonna be hosted in my area??? Central TX???

It's about time they did this!  I would love too see the movie on the big screen and get to meet Mr. Beagle in person.  I hope they don't skip the Hampton Roads area.  I hope they sell some of the books at the screening too or maybe the comics!

I'm glad they re-released it on DVD a few years ago. I snatched it up and rewatched it in full for the first time in fifteen years. I love that movie and it has, without a doubt, the best soundtrack of any movie I've ever seen. Ever. Period. No exception and no arguments.

 

I've never read the book though. Not much of a book reader but if I do read a book next, it'll likely be this if I can ever get money to buy it.

You can keep an eye on the website, or Email and ask to be put on the mailing list to be updated about showings.  I have to find the info on that, I think my wifes mother took it by mistake.  I will post it when I get it tho.

At each showing they do sell Copys of the Book and Graphic novel as well as other stuff like beautiful prints and DVD's.  It was free to have items signed, but if you bought the book there then it cost a bit more to have it signed, I guess for the convinence of them having the books and such. 

 

We were also lucky to get a couple of 35mm film frame's from the 1982 showing (a give away item).

Same here, I will be reading it now tho.  So manny classics I have to read, like LOTR is still on my to read list lol.

I've only read about a hundred pages into LotR. I couldn't handle the extremely slow pace after having read another series that was faster.

My dreams have finally been realized! I think I should really look into The Last Unicorn, to see the movie for myself if a Lord of the Rings theme is in it.
