Icarus shook his head at the event, then turned to the new pony.

 

"Whatever that weapon, the "Bolter" as he called it, did massive damage to her. Sad to say, there is nothing I can do." Icarus said, looking at the wound.

 

What the hell was that weapon. What did it do? I have never seen one hit from anything do this kind of damage.

The fighting became much more intense. To the point that the sky began to burn. And even then. The marines fought. They fought, and fought, and fought. Down to the last man. Eventually, the invading forces won. Some seemed happy at the victory. Many more seemed sorrowful, looking the mutilated bodies of enemies, that had once been brothers. As they left, many gave prayer to all of the dead, enemy and ally alike, before leaving. The recording ended a fleet of large ships left orbit. Leaving one line of text

 

"End tape, Horus Heresy: Battle 1332. Planet Artemis.Play again?"

Scipio remained silent after the holographic tape ended. That was... interesting to say the least, and he took note of the soldiers expressions after the chaos had ended. Instead of cheering, they mourned. It all reminded Scipio of the Civil War that had taken place in the US back on Earth; brother against brother, torn apart by different ideals and beliefs.

The only question Scipio had was what had caused this battle. The name of it was "Horus Heresy", so he thought that maybe one side had abandoned the beliefs they had all once followed together. Heresy?... maybe one side had defected to follow something considered terrible? He didn't know.

After sitting on the text for a few seconds, another button popped up. it read "BATTLE STATISTICS" with a small drop down arrow.

Shifted (Disguised as Crimson) carried over Ambrose's body. He set it down before the doctor. "Anything you can do for her" he asked the pair of them. There was always a chance something could be done. He didnt think so but asking was the right thing to do.

The child looked over at "Crimson", surprised that there was yet another dying.

H-He shot TWO people?!

 

Klonoa ran over to her body... but there was a difference between the two shot. One was down and struggling. This one... didn't even seem to be doing that much.

 

The boy grew queasy, being so close to the open wound, still bleeding from the bolt pistol.

... She can't regenerate, can she?

Light, as he began to regenerate, shifted the energy to Ambrose's body. "Live... My love..." He said in a cracking voice.

"She may not regenerate, but Light can give her the energy to!" Cried Glowing, witnessing the transferring of power.

After the energy shot to Ambrose, Light was left at what he was before, dying. "I... Can't make more energy... For a while..." Said Light.

"Icarus," asked Glowing, "can you help Light at all? He saved Ambrose, but can you help him?" Asked Glowing.

"He has massive internal trauma. Whatever that "Thing" was wearing, It amplified it's strength. There isn't much I can do except for feed him my healing potions. That should get him back on his feet, but nothing much beyond that" Icarus explained to Glowing.

Light lay there, in his near comatose state, his eyes open. "Glowing..." He whispered.

"Yes, Light?" Answered Glowing.

"Take good care of Ambrose for me..." He whispered. "I love her..." He said.

"Light, I won't let you die." Said Glowing.

"You may not, but you have to. You're the hope for the rebellion now. Blood will return, and try to kill you. But he won't. You will end this. Good-Bye..." Rasped Light.

Without a last word, Light died.

"NO!" Shouted Glowing.

 

So,bra felt Light's death, but knew that Glowing had taken over.

"Blood, we have good news and bad news. Good news, Light is dead. Bad news, his brother has taken his place. And I sense he is more of an evil than Light." Said Sombra to Blood. "We will have to kill Glowing." Finished Sombra.

"Good, the heretic received what he deserved. And now soon, his friend will share his fate.Also, I have released a skull drone to spy on the group, you may receive visual and statistical data from this frequency" Blood sent a burst of information to Sombra.

Crimson stepped away from the body of Light. He could heal him but that would be pointless, he had done nothing for him. "What has happened that casued this many to die?" he asked the group in general. He looked down at Light, wouuld he be worth it.

Glowing stepped up to Crimson. "Light has died because of a mercenary of Sombra. The heretic must die!" Shouted Glowing. Glowing felt a presence in his mind. Glowing, it's the spirit of Light. I am here to guide you. said the voice. i will not speak to you again, but I shall always be with you. concluded the voice.

"I shall eliminate the hertic in due time, but first, I must let my armor repair it's self. It should not take long" Blood reported to Sombra, still thinking about Blood Wing.

The boys legs began shaking. His eyes grew loose.

He didn't understand a thing, but... two gory deaths in front of him. For a young boy, that's pretty traumatizing.

He began to grow extremely nauseous and dizzy.

He had fainted. Hard.

It was a lot of stress to finally let out somehow.

He quickly pushed his face into his hands, shivering heavily through the force he was applying, with muffled sobs easily going through his gloved hands.

 

It was clear that this fiasco wasn't the only thing hurting him... but it was enough at least to incite these tears.

"Light was a good pony, but he lives with us in spirit. It's up to this group, and I, it's new leader, to stop the evil that is consuming the world." Said Glowing.

Scipio displayed the battle statistics prompted by the hologram, curious to see if it would reveal anything other than the number of deaths and honors given to soldiers and whatnot.

The Skull drone hovered over the group, invisible to those who could not see on the infrared spectrum. It scanned the entire group collecting bio signs and data. It also scanned Light and Ambrose, confirming both of their deaths. It then transmitted the Data to Blood ans Sombra.

Klonoa rubbed his nose on his arm. He muttered to himself, just barely able to be heard by Glowing, Maybe back ho- in his home, I mean... maybe we did get rid of the biggest evil... I guess that's all anyone can ever hope for...

 

Klonoa shook his head to the sides briefly, before rubbing his eyes, and looking towards Glowing. Thanks... at least I know there's some hope...

"Well then let me start. I am Dr.Icarus of Stalliongrad" Icarus said with a slight bow, before returning to the body of Light. He had a plan. Not to save light, so to say, but to preserve his genetic signature. Hopefully, to give Light a legacy, something to allow him to be remembered.

"Interesting..." Said Sombra. "Even though the two are dead, let's be none too careful." Continued Sombra. "It was also as I've feared. Glowing has connected with Light's spirit, and the two are working together in one body." Said Sombra, mournfully.

A voice spoke to Icarus, so only he could hear it. Icarus... This is Light's spirit. Do not be afraid. You may do what you wish with my remains, but I wanted you to know that I and Glowing are now one. We are one flesh. And we both shall lead all of us. I may never speak again, but I wanted to let you know that. said the voice. And, like that, it was gone.

Another entity approached Light. A dead one, as himself. It was a Space Marine, but this one, was not hostile. It put his hoof on his shoulder, and spoke.

 

"We have both met a similar fate it seems" Blood Wing said Light, in a slightly sad voice, "very unfortunate".

Scipio was rather shocked to see the death toll of the battle. 6 billion confirmed kills?! That was more than 85% of Earth's population! Not to mention, there was at least 7 billion more casualties, although these were unconfirmed and mere estimates of the true damage that was caused.

 

"You ever come across something like this in your travels?" Scipio asked the symbiote.

 

"No, and I've always looked to bond with hosts on planets that are in constant conflict. Feeds me more. This is something else though, I've never seen death tolls resulting from war alone rise this high...."

 

"Talk about 'planet-cide' eh? Just what exactly was this Horus Heresy? It seems to be the root of all of this..."

"Sadly, it appears that this is true." Said Light, hanging his head. When he looked up, he looked scared momentarily, until he came to a realization. "you're not the one that murdered me." Said Light, "that's a bonus. But, who are you?" Asked Light, quite puzzled at this mystery.
