Frost stopped and paused for a moment until he lowered his weapon and holstered it. "Scared me man.....sorry." he replied softly. "I'm Frost, That's Muddle." he said pointing towards the mare, "And this is Gaurdian, we'd be happy to help you out." he added with a smile.

Suddenly, the stallions parted as Avaron returned calmly, "I assume your acquired burden is still of this world?...good. Now you may join me. My allies shall wait upon your inevitable return here." His head tossed back once more as he patiently waited for Granite to follow him under the bridge.

Having no other options, Granite follows Avaron.  He's careful not to jostle Mael too much as he walks, sparing a brief glance at the other stallions as he walks past them.  "Your allies don't say much."

 

He follows the pony with the gas mask under the bridge, taking the moment to try and ask for help for the mare again.  "And she's not a burden, she's a living pony.  She needs medical attention, and soon."

The mysterious stallion laughed a little, "Yes, they are quite docile aren't they?" He then walked upon to the thick concrete wall under the bridge and stomp his hoof once. A slight rumble was heard from beyond the concrete, then it seemed to create a hole big enough for ponies to enter. Inside the dark hole appeared to be stairs the went below the ground. Avaron then proceed in, ignoring Granite's retaliating comment and addressing his latter, "I acquired a med kit from the hospital within the city. Unless you have some kind of medical training, it won't serve much purpose other than the stimulus anesthetic to maintain proper function for a period of time."

Lucid stared at the group. "Survivors..... they didn't send me.... for nothing..... there where others the whole time!" Lucid said, "who are you?" Lucid still tried to grasp the concept that there where survivors. He eyed the group tying to see if they where some type of demon in disguise.

Muddle looked at the pony closely, and a hooked expression started growing on her face. "Lucid is that you! but... you've been gone for weeks" She walked slowly past frost and Angel to see if it really was the pony that she met not too long ago. "Wait, how are you here too? Did we both cast the same spell?"

Frost shook his head. "Wait wait wait, Muddle. You know this stallion? That's good, but....ah I'll ask when we get to Safe Haven, let's go guys." he said lookin around to see if anything was trying to come after them. "It's nice to meet you Lucid, but Gaurdian we need to move."

Guardian nods his head in agreement. He looks around and notices that the short cut is near. "I see it over there!" he points to a boarded up cellar door. "I don't remember boarding this up." he says as he trots over to the door. Guardian takes off the boards and no sooner did the last one come off, the monster that chased him earlier jumped out, knocking him to the side. "Who the hell put a fricken monster down there!" he exclaims.

Frost jumped back as the monster burst out. He slung the rifle off his back and tried to get a clean shot, -it's moving to fast!- he growled in his mind m. "GUARDIAN!Hold it still, let's see if this will do something." he called out, trying to see if his rifle would have any effect on the monster.

"Shad-" Before Muddle could even finish speaking, Shadow had already chased down the monster. It had it in a tight grip, but the monster was struggling; and shadow having to expand it's body to contain the monster wasn't helping. "Hey if your going to do something. I think now would be the perfect-" It staggered it's sentence as it tried to keep it's grip on the monster. "Time!"

Lucid stared at Muddle for awhile "I don't know who on earth this pony is. But she looks so familiar, I might have seen her from the time I used the spell, but my memory from that time... and all the time leading up to it, is so blurred up, stupid spell!"

Lucid said plainly to the mare. "I'm sorry... I have no idea who you are."

Guardian jumped to his hooves and galloped towards the monster. He jumped high into the air and delivered a spinning downward kick to the monsters head, just enough to drop it down. "Okay Frost, take the shot!" he exclaimed as he leaps to a safe area away from the monster.

Granite hesitated slightly before starting down the stairs, but did follow the pony wearing the gas mask.  The golem didn't like this at all.  He was essentially walking blindly into what may or may not be a viper's nest.  The fact that the stairs were dark didn't bother him too much, his enchanted sight made that a null point.  What bothered him was not knowing what was waiting for them.

 

I can't decide which would be better...  Entering this with my own will, or having a master to order me to do so.  I would feel less stupid for it with a master...  Tch, this whole experience has been nothing but a drag since I woke up.

 

"What...  What is this place?"  Granite wanted to find out all he could, both for himself and for the dead weight laying on his back.  He was still worried about if the mare was going to make it or not, and he was determined to do what he could to ensure that she did.

"Curious? Of course, where are my manners?" At the end of the stairs was an enormous dome-like area with a large desk and jumbo tron screen behind it. The room had a very...omniscient feeling to it. As the two proceeded forward small lights switched on beneath the smooth floor by their hooves. before turning back off when they passed. "Welcome to what I call the inferno. Do not fear of those lights glowing beneath your hooves. They're mere security measures."

Frost aimed down the sight of his rifle and waited, waited for the monsters eye to enter the cross in his sight. As soon as it was in place he pulled the trigger, with a loud bang and the kick of the rifle, the bullet was propelled forward at an insane speed.

Granite had to admit that there was at least one advantage to having his stone body, and that was it didn't betray his emotions very well.  The only sign that the golem was impressed with what he was seeing hidden under the city were the flickering flames behind the gems of his eyes, which became slightly brighter as he tried to take in the large room.

 

The inferno?  What kind of name is that, with hell on the surface of Equestria?  And what's with that giant screen!?  

 

Rather than voicing the questions going through Granite's mind, he simply turned his gaze towards Avaron and asked "And why bring us here?"

The bullet hit the monster, and Muddle's shadow too. Normally it wouldn't care, but just like before. "It... hurts..." The bullet had pierced it's right shoulder and something red had started dripping out. Everything went black.

Muddle stared at her shadow with a confused look on her face as it fell to the ground. "Shadow now not the time to be kidd-" She tried to take a step closer with her right hoof, but she couldn't move it. She looked at it, and saw it was bleeding. She gave a blank stare at frost and angel, and said, "...It hurts..." Then everything went dark.

Avaron proceeded up to the desk and brought back a small plastic box with medical supplies in it. "Your burden shall likely need this...but to reiterate: it will serve no use if you don't seek higher medical attention." The stallion then nodded to the stone Granite, "Simply because I request your...unique services. The I.N.F.E.R.N.O., that central computing unit over there, is an...intricate device. I've been working on it even before the Armageddon."

Guardian sighed in relief when he saw the monster fall to the bullet. "Good job ever-" he was cut short when he saw Muddle collapse. "Muddle!" he yells as he rushed to her side.

 

With its dying breath, the monster spoke, "sjek si loreat, hak zyak nishka wux."

 

Guardian knew little about what the monster said, something about not dying alone. That's when it hit him, the monster was going to kill them anyway. Acting quickly, Guardian grabbed the unconscious mare and tossed her down the cellar door. She was not going to be injured. "Frost, let's go! No time to explain!" he yelled at Frost, motioning for him to follow quickly.

Frost nodded at Gaurdian, reloading another shell into the rifle. "Right, Lucid! Let's go we are leaving....NOW!" he yelled as he turned to gallop after Gaurdian. "Come on Muddke stay with us please......please." he prayed silently to himself, closing his eyes.

The recently defeated monster began to expand at a rapid rate. "Hurry everypony! Get into the cellar before its too late. Time is something we are losing here and i do not want to see what happens next!" Guardian exclaimed as Frost made his way over to the entrance to the short cut to the Safe Haven.

Granite took the medkit and started to move over to the side while listening to Avaron.  "My services?  I know nothing about computers.  I don't know what you want with me.  Anyways, that will have to wait until after I can try to patch her up."

 

The golem carefully lowers Mael to the floor, opening the medkit and trying to decide what he has to work with.  Avaron had been correct in saying that there wasn't much in it, but the anesthesia would at least help for now.  With a surprising amount of tenderness for working with stone hooves, Granite carefully injects the medicine into Mael's prone form.  As he takes the small roll of bandages from the kit and starts trying to cover some of the mare's more obvious wounds, he turns his attention back to Avaron.

 

"So what do you want me to do?"   And why would he be working on something like this even before all of this happened?

Avaron watched as Granite did his best to help Mael, his hoarse breathing echoing in the large silent atmosphere. "What do I want you to do you ask? Well...perhaps I should be straightforward with you," he stated mysteriously. As immediate as his sentence finished, the door at which they had entered through made a scraping sound of metal on metal, sparks shooting out from it as it became sealed uniformly. Avaron silently lowered his head, raising a hoof and removing the mask he wore. His face was that of a pony's...but heavily scarred and slightly ripped at the left side of his mouth with one eye pure crimson red. "I am Avaron...Avaron of the Pit," he said maliciously. "I have been charged to bring about the destruction of the Pale kind."

Frost reached the shortcut and ushered tfe others through, "Come on let's GO GO GO!" he yelled, pulling out his pistol and firing off a couple rounds at the monster trying to see if anything would happen. Once everypony was through he ran after them as fast as he could.

Guardian stayed back as he watched everyone enter and Frost shoot back a couple rounds that hit the ever expanding monster. Just as he was about to enter the thing exploded. The shock wave hit him and sent him flying into the cellar. Time slowed down as he passed right over everyone. "FUUUUUUUUUU~" he said as he flew past them and into a wall. He was logged into the wall with only his back half exposed.

 

(just picture his face and you will die of laughter)
