Aerodynas 439 November 6, 2013 Share November 6, 2013 (edited) Righto so I just drew my first pony...ever heh. I attempted to draw my OC: Sunny Caramel. Obviously it isn't a very good match but I tried to make the cutie mark a little easier to draw. The only major things either than that that look wrong to me is the eye proportions and the hair proportions...*sigh* I just started using a graphics tablet...and it's really hard to get used to. Hope the pic doesn't look too bad to y'all. Remember, it's my first. Edited February 22, 2014 by Aerodynas 13 "You have to establish the horizon. You have to mark the white. Friendship_Cannon 1,676 November 6, 2013 Share November 6, 2013 Beautiful drawing, very good for a first pony drawing, and nice OC. I love the colors, especially the mane, and the mane style is amazing, like a wave of fire or something x3. What is her special talent, or what does her cutie mark mean? 1 Signature made by the amazing ~Harmonic Dreams~ I always pictured you as a cross between Demoman and Pinkie Pie for some reason. Aniki 386 November 6, 2013 Share November 6, 2013 Dang, looks pretty solid! Especially for your first try! The first time I tried to draw my with Wacom tablet it came out looking like somebody threw a bucket of paint in a haystack and used a "Sock'em bopper" to make the strokes! (Well okay maybe I'm exaggerating a LITTLE.) My only advice is to make the lines a teeny bit thicker next time; it really makes the image POP! Once again, very nice. DenialZombie 82 November 6, 2013 Share November 6, 2013 OH! Speaking of lines: you're using a digital medium now. Try using colored lines, like you see in the show, vectors, and your avatar. If done right, it can give the appearance of seamlessness/lack of lines. 1 I could have just said:

Now I'm no professional artist myself (far from it) but here's a few tips I think you might find helpful. I'm not really sure what program you work in but these tips are pretty standard all around. If you're trying to match certain colors (say, the ones in your avatar) why not open that image or paste it into your existing canvas and use the [Eye Drop Tool] to "copy" the existing color for use with the new one? If you aren't satisfied with your lines try drawing them in quick strokes; and working in a very large canvas (anywhere from 2000x2000 to 7000x7000) then shrink down the finished image for posting. When I first found that out I was amazed at how much cleaner my images looked. Granted in some programs it might just make things blurrier instead, but like I said I'm not sure what you use. And if you're you'd like a more uniform and precise look you could always do the line art with the [Pen Tool] which is what I normally do for pieces that are more "cartoony". It's actually a really simple tool to use once you get the hang of it! But these are just little tips I've found useful; hope you get at least a little use out of them! Keep up the good work and make big brother proud! 2 ~Signature by my awesome sibling @Armchair Adventurer "Som"~
