I made an idea for a villain a while back.

I was thinking if a villain that was originally a good pony, but revenge fell upon his heart. When it happened, he held an abnormally large grudge against the mane six for one reason or another, until one day he is given the opportunity to become stronger. Taking the chance, he changes his appearance, and an evil is born.

I very much agree and like your ideas. I also believe the Discord = Starswirl theory is a very interesting one. But I'd like to add one thing. The Sisters don't know he is Starswirl and Discord doesn't remember he is either. The Sisters could of easily never of known if he never told them but as for him forgetting. Maybe his memories have been altered or forgotten in someway when he was imprisoned for a thousand years? Or maybe something happened to him when he was fully transformed. 

 

The reason I say this is because is because of how Discord and Celestia and Luna interact with one another. Though they it does seem like they knew each other personally but... I don't know how to explain it but in my eyes, if Discord was Starswirl, it doesn't seem like they know it.

All the villains we have seen have been overpowered or legendary.

 

I personally would like to see a regular citizen villain.

 

Or political one.

I would also prefer serial killers,thieves,and murderers. (No,serial killers and murderers aren't the same thing.

Serial killers are people who kill more than one. Murderers are the ones that kill only once.)
