Oh, I forgot to respond. You didn't really have to act that way you know. Not to be mean or anything, you make good points but not everyone is going to agree with you.

Dash is the more developed of the two but aside from: becoming less arrogant (after almost every episode revolved around that flaw), improving relationships with other characters (important but other characters have done it more) and learning to enjoy reading/accept lame pets (which was just a step onto the abolition of arrogance) she's fairly one note and not particularly deep emotionally. Yes she has a lot of very visible development, but it was all just a plodding effort to undo one aspect of her character. It would be almost like saying Fluttershy is well developed after she stops being Shy. Twilight is even worse though. With every episode and conflict from LZ to Princess Twilight being about how afraid she is of failure and not being in control. LZ was about this, It's about Time was about this, Crystal Empire was about this and even Princess Twilight touched on it. She has not grown at all. Despite her apotheosis.

Brony Curious and Digi Brony probably go in to far more detail on their development than I could but here is my take on it.

RD:  When we first see her she is Lazy, Full of her self and impatient.  She see's herself as the best with no flaws.  Over the seasons she grows tremendously.  Episodes like Mare-do-well, sleepless in ponyville, wonderbolts academy and even this weeks episode flight to the finish show us this.   She has become dependable, ethical, caring role model, a bit more humble and open to new ideas.  You can't really call her one note just because she still sees herself as awesome.  There is nothing wrong with self confidence as long as you are not consumed by it.

Twilight: We see first see her as isolated,  anti-social,  OCD and I'd even go as far to say uncaring. Over the seasons she learns compassion, not to be anti-social, has eased up on her OCD, self sacrifice, leadership and so on.    A season 1 Twilight would of never been able to face discord or told spike to grab the crystal heart and run.   I don't see the major flaws she had growing in the past 3 seasons now as PTwilight.

Now when you compare them to other characters, say Apple Jack or Rarity who I feel started out as a lot stronger characters to begin with that they did not have much room for growth.

AJ big flaw being stubbornness and inability to negotiate (seriously you could of made serious cash if ya learned to haggle for a better deal with Flim and Flam.)   She Is Dependable hard working FarmGirl.  Running a Farm is not easy in the least, not to mention she is pretty much head of the household too. So other than probably Granny Smith, she makes the majority of the decisions for the Family.

Rarity we see as an Independent Business Pony and Artist as well.  Like A J she is Running a business, head of her household, even if she did live alone (before Sweety Bell) and now cares for her sister as well.  Try running a business as an only parent.  These are strong characters from the start and I personally don't see much growth beyond being able to look past themselves and the ability to see others views and advice.

Then we have Pinkie and Fluttershy....

Pinky is ... Comic relief.  Not to say that is a bad thing, I really enjoy her character.  But in the view of a developing character I just don't see it.  Pinkie has learned pretty much to tone it back a bit and know when its right to do her thing as opposed to all the time.   We do see her learn how hard major responsibly (like child care) can be and know life is a lot of fun but can't always be a party.

Fluttershy, sigh, Flutershy.  I  really am not sure what to say about her. It feels like she takes leaps forward and back.  Not so much a character arch, more of a zigzag.  She is supershy, then over the top mean, then can even speak up in a conversation.  It just feels like they have not found an easy transition for her to follow.  Either that or her friends really need to learn to notice when she is trying to speak.

Hmm ok that ended up a lot longer than I thought it would.  Anyway thats my quick opinion on Developed characters.

Your Rarity argument did not respond to mine, and it simply takes advantage of the fact that she has been out of focus.

It was not that, I thought you were not responding to what I said.
