gaming After watching Highschool of the Dead

I wanna play zombie games. Only thing is, the few that I have I've played to death and I want more!

Give me some zombie recommendations, preferably of the more action-oriented sort rather than survival horror type.

Also can anyone give me the lowdown on the following games?

Dead Rising 2

Onechanbara (Both Wii and 360 versions if you please, though I'll have to get only the Wii version for now)

I know of Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 but I don't have anything to play them on at the moment (no 360 and no PC strong enough for it)

I know bits and pieces of the games I mentioned above but I don't know major things about them.

Also, don't tell me things like "Those games suck" or anything about review scores. I'm well aware of those things so don't worry about them. I just want the good stuff about the games mentioned.

Those games don't suck.

But it all depends on what you're looking for. For action oriented, go for Resident Evil 4. That's the best one, in my opinion, even though it's not true to the franchise.

But for a truly atmospheric and amazing zombie game, go for the Resident Evil remake on the Nintendo Gamecube. A fantastically executed game in my opinion, and one that will actually scare you. Sure, it's survival horror, but it's a true zombie game, in my opinion. At least, I prefer it far more than Dead Rising or other games like that.

lol I have RE4 and beaten it several times so it counts in the "done to death" category. As for the REmake I plan to get it eventually but it's not what I'm looking for.

I want something where I can take out mobs of zombies in a very action-oriented manner. Something I know both Onechanbara and Dead Rising are.

Also, I wasn't saying the games do suck but I have heard things here and there, especially about Onechanbara, that they are "shallow" or somesuch.

And I didn't want people coming in just to say things like "Don't get x game" and such. I hate when people tell me not to get a game I already plan on getting. lol

The best game youve mentioned is Dead Rising 2. Some people critisised it for putting too much pressure on the player, but that was complete rubbish. All you had to do was press 'continue' if you failed the story (Didnt do the task given in time) then you could wander and slaughter to your hearts content .

LFD1 and 2 are great for action, but I suggest you get them on PC if possible. Theyre great on consoles, but theres much more content avalible if you get either of them on PC.

As for other zombie games, I reccomend Dead Island if you like action zombies. If you dont mind a crap story and terrible cutscenes that dont make any sense at all, its the best zombie game out there!

I actually totally forgot about Dead Island. It was on top of my wanted games in 2011 but I lost my job before I could pick it up.

And lol @ too much pressure on the player. I bet you there are other games which put much more pressure such as Demon's Souls.

I plan to get a gaming-level PC when I get a new job so I was considering getting L4D on that but I know a lot of people who have it on 360 too so I would be missing out on playing with them.

Hm, well you could try Dead Frontier. It's a zombie MMORPG. Level up, gather money, buy weapons and armor, explore the city of Fairview, and hunt the notorious boss zombies like the Large Titan, the Agile Wraith, and the GOD **** ANNOYING GIANT SPIDER. The game can get pretty intense at times. http://deadfrontier.com/

Lollipop Chainsaw comes out soon, starring Twilight Sparkle herself.

Ah yes, forgot about that. Haven't looked up too much about it yet, I should do that.

lmao I didn't even catch that.

I think I need to list the zombie games I have:

Dead Nation

Resident Evil: Code Veronica X

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles

Resident Evil 4 (though I wouldn't exactly call it a zombie game even though they move kinda like zombies)

...I think that's about it. ;-;

I need moar.

Go for the original Dead Rising. I think it's better than the 2nd one, but that might be also because I prefer Frank West's character.

House of the Dead 2, 3, 4. I'm pretty sure the ports are scattered on the Dreamcast, Playstation and possibly on the PS3 too.

Obviously Resident Evil 2, Nemesis and the Remake. Also Zero for the Gamecube is really good.

Splatterhouse could be an honorable mention, though it's not really a zombie game per say.

Oh, and Land of the Dead for the PC! It's pretty old so your computer should be able to play it.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

Can't get the original Dead Rising. I don't have a 360 and no PC to play. I'm using someone else's computer so I can't download stuff on here or anything.

I have to wait until I get my own. I was hoping for mostly Wii, PS2 and PS3 recommendations.

I wouldn't really go for Onechanbara, It's a fine game and everything but it's just sub-par compared to DevilMayCry or God Of War. I'm actually waiting for Yakuza:Dead Souls to be released.

:P Can't convince me otherwise! I've seen gameplay of it and I definitely want it.

I've never played the Yakuza series before, I probably should check it out.
