So I am about to go out and buy a couple of albums at FYE... and was wondering what I should get? I have a couple in mind that I want to buy. But are there any new album releases that are down right amazing?

Can You give me Your musical taste in a nutshell? What bands etc? I have some albums that I call "masterpiece" that were released this year but I'd prefer to know Your taste first :)

Oh, actually I think I can give one recommendation already. Alice in Chains - Devil Put Dinosaurs Here. Great album (especially "Hollow"). Definitely one of stronger releases this year. Rhapsody that was mentioned by Doc. Volt is also pretty good idea :3

Rock: Airbourne - Runnin' Wild   Metal: Metallica - Black Album    Metalcore: Motionless in Wihite - Creatures   Pop - Punk: Sum 41 - Does This Look Infected?

Cheers to the Airbourne I have all of theirs :3 I do love me some Sum 41 too.

Not sure what you're into, but I bought Black Sabbath's and Motorhead's latest albums today. Both very awesome. And highly recommendable.

Ah yeah I forgot about Black Sabbath's new album alongside of Motorhead's aftershock. I am def. getting aftershock and maybe a Deftones album while I am at it.

Are you getting them as physical copies, or digital ?

If the service you use carries, I can never not recommended Johnny Cash's Hundred Highways no matter what your tastes is. I've gotten people that don't even like Country otherwise addicted to that album because it's just so damn good.

If you like 80s glam/hair metal, the Damn Yankees self-titled album is good to.

Why FYE? They are overpriced on everything. Only plus about them if finding some of the more obscure stuff there.

Best Buy is typically where I go, because I found out the hard way that Walmart's cds are all censored when I bought one of my Avenged Sevenfold albums there. Never again.

Here is one I bought few weeks ago.

Imagine Dragons - Night Visions (Their only album ATM)

But here is some of my other recommendations.

Avenged Sevenfold -

"City of Evil"

"Avenged Sevenfold"

"Nightmare"

(The prior being more heavy, latter still metal but more mellow.)

Songs from each.

I also quite enjoyed Linkin park's remix album. Though it is largly electronica/dubstep.

Also if you like House, I recommend if you can find it ALIVE 2007 from Daftpunk.

Some random albums that they will probably have at FYE:

Korn - The Paradigm Shift, Remember Who You Are, The Path of Totality (dubstep)

A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth Step, Mer De Noms.

Alter Bridge - AB III, Fortress

Dude, what happen to all of those suggestions I gave you in that message? I'm sure I gave you plenty to look for. xD

The FYE/music store I went to had a pretty shit selection... My town that I live in is very very small and the majority of people who live here like country and rap.... They did not even have Motorhead's new album. I even looked for Black Sabbath's new album and they did not have it. I looked for some of the suggestions you gave me and they did not have it either.

But I ended up buying three albums I found. Pearl Jam's Lightning Bolt album, Queens of the Stone Age - Like Clockwork, and Volbeat - Beyond Hell Above Heaven. I am very pleased with what I got as well :3

@@TorqueEffect,

I heard Ax7 new album and it is amazing I have to say I was very surprised by it.

I agree, the new Volbeat is pretty good. And yeah Like Clockwork is....well just that. Josh Homme's genius is like clockwork.

I just recently have been getting into Volbeat myself and I am enjoying their material a lot. I have two albums from them the one I bought above and guitar gangsters and cadillac blood.

I admit I've been getting into them to. I'm a little bummed I only found out about them/started really listening.

By the way, might I suggest some Streetlight Manifesto? xD

Yeah I bought the new album at the same time I bought the Imagine Dragons CD, and the Linkin Park Remix album "Recharged"

Though I can't say I liked the new album as much as their older ones, it seemed like after the the first half all the songs became forgettable.

I am glad there are still some people that buy CDs, I don't see the appeal of digital downloads, because most people skip over the entire album and just buy the one song they like and never hear the rest. I'd be more excepting of it, if you were required to buy the entire album, no if ands or buts unless that band released it as a Singles record.

If You like power metal and don't mind christian lyrics then I also advice You checking Theocracy. Very good band that I've just recently discovered and so far I don't see any bad song. Worth checking out definitely.

As long as they don't mention Jesus, or God, or any other biblical titles throughout the songs, I say I wouldn't have a problem with them.

I think the closest I have got to a Christian Metal band is Skillet.
