[Apollo 297]

The royal guards of the princesses have always been loyal. They are brave, strong, and unyielding to danger. Then princess Luna's bat-winged pegasai showed up. The royal guards of Celestia disapproved of the strange mutation that existed within the bat-winged pegasai and segregated themselves from the species entirely. The bat-winged pegasai did not like this, for they only wished to be friends with the normal pegasus guards. Fortunately, some of Celestia's pegasai guards disapproved of the segregation.

This is the story of the adventures of the Royal guards of both Celestia and Luna.

Leo would be in front of a door, his door. The door he always had to guard. He would stand still, thinking about everyday things and how to solve his minor problems. He heard about the Bat-Guards, or "Batties". He was not sure what to think, he didn't know them, but still if most of the other guards had a problem with them there must be a reason... He did not want to stand there like a fool.

*Schwartz was lounging around again. She loved her off duty time. Time for herself where she could just lounge around. She didn't care about the taunts and jabs the so-called 'normal' pegasai threw at her. She just let them go over her head.*

"Awagh, Im so bored." *She said to herself. One of her collages, she didn't know his name, walked up to her.*

"Hey Schwarz, your break is over. Time to get back to work. Your supposed to relieve Brass. He's guarding the royal hall."

"Sure, whatever." *Schwartz stood up and jumped off the roof she had been laying on.* Geez, thats where all the 'normal' guards work. Luna and Celestia must be having tea together. *She arrived in the great hall and noticed a guard she hadn't seen before. (Leo) She walked up to Brass and sent him on his way and stood in her spot, just across the room from the other guard. After standing there in silence for a few minutes Schwartz decided to say something.*

"Sup?" *She said to the other guard.*

Leo would see the other Pegasus, he looked towards her. He hadn't seen her before, but she was a Black Guard, so he tried to avoid eye contact and looked at the ground in front of her, still hopefully making him look like staring into infinite. He would eye at her from times to times, because hey, she's still a mare, but he tried to make it look like he was just looking around.

 

As she then spoke to him he looked up and towards her, "Yes?", he would ask her in a neutral voice.

Cloud was breathless, but had a right to be so, he was still a trainee with the Solar guards, and was still undergoing training. Today was his favorite day, aerial combat, he was already a very strong flyer, and thus learned the moves of air fighting rather easily. He was top of his class when it came to this, even his drill seargent was impressed. He left the training room and saw a Lunar guard mare trying to converse with Leo, one of his commanding officers, he walked up to the two since he still had some time off and greeted Leo, "Hiya sir! Great day today huh?" he said cheerfully, but still breathlessly. He then looked at the Lunar mare, he had heard there was some kind of segregation going on, but Cloud never liked it, these ponies never did anything to them. "Hi" he said nicely to her.

Haste walked inside the castle and towards the rest of the guards, and looked at the one of the new Luna guards, she didn't like them, but tried to smile

Crystal Flame swished his tail impatiently as he slowly climbed up the stairs. Being on castle interior patrol, he had to walk by every single room and check to make sure nothing was amiss. Extraordinarily boring. But there were rumors circulating of some sort of internal conflict with a few new arrivals that the others on his barracks called "Bat ponies." He was curious to see what was going on. Still though, it would be a lot easier if I didn't have to lug around a large spear everywhere, he thought despondently, eyeing the spear that he had tied to his back.

Leo would look at the ponies joining the conversation, he didn't like the apparent lack of duty but did not say anything and just stayed quiet for now, observing.

Crystal Flame proceeded up the stairs and made a round of the castle, passing by a few conversing guards on the way. Well done you guys, way to stay focused and on duty, he thought sarcastically to himself. But he supposed he couldn't fault them, it really WAS boring standing there doing nothing. How long had it been since the last exciting thing happened while he was on duty? Oh, yes that was right. Never.

K-Bar kicked open the door to her hidey-hole office hidden in the castle dungeon. Crap, Im late for my rounds, she thought as she frantically threw on her armor and pulled on the hood/mask she used as opposed to the regular helmet. She then hastily made her way out of the dungeon, keeping out of sight of Celestia's guards and saluting Luna's. She saw Schwartz, one of Luna's few guards who didn't know about K-Bar. K-Bar stealthily made her way behind the other guard, "You should be more attentive, Schwartz, or somepony might sneak up on you" She whispered in her ear. She then vanished into the shadows near Schwartz.

*Schwartz smirked.* "Another shadow lurker eh?" *Schwartz jumped into the shadows and playfully tackled the other Lunar guard.* (Some of Lunas guards are proficcient at hidind in the shadows. They are called shadow lurkers. They can be easily spotted only by other shadow lurkers.)
