Defending Sunset for a bit

Now you might seem shocked as you see me make a thread defending Sunset as I also made a thread about her being worst villain, But hear me out.

 

While she might not have that much character devolopment and wasn't that threatning, It wasn't her fault, Its the movies fault, Same as Movie Venom, had Spiderman 3 and EG not had as much as badly written as they are then Venom and Sunset would have been better Villains.

 

Which is why I want her to return in S4/5 so that Her background won't go to waste,

I would want Sunset Shimmer to return to the show too, if her appearance would be canon in the show. If she wasn't badly written in the movie, her potential would be to good use.

yeah, I made that point in your previous thread, it was mostly the movie's fault, had it been longer, or a mini series at all, there would be more space to develop her

Yeah like she has that antagonist development space that came with trioxide and lightning dust. They have chances to prove themselves as good guys, in fact they were still trying to be the good guy, but their strategies for their goals lead them to being antagonists. This provides a good structure for small, not so try-to-take-over-the-world type villain, and it's classic

Sunset was about as good of a villain as Trixie, Suri, and Lightning Dust were. (Trixie kicks ass, just saying, so don't take this as hate for her.)

 

That was the problem; was she a bad villain? No.

 

She was the villain for a whole movie, though.

 

A movie needs the best villain; not a foil.

 

The movie was better suited for a more...Discord or QC type villain; pure evil.

 

Not just mean-spirited, arrogant foil.

 

They tried to make her more like QC, Sombra, NMM, or Discord at the end; she was still just Twilight's foil rather than evil villain, unfortunately.

 

I didn't like her hair.

 

Other than those two things, I liked Sunset a little bit About Sombra level.

I loved her designs and voice; just hated her writing. So yes, let them try again.

Speaking of "trying again," I also wish for a Sombra arc in the comics. Chrysalis, NMM, Sunset, and now Discord have all had theirs, so now it's Sombra's turn.
