Season 4: Sort of disappointing?

I actually made a small rant about season 4 oh FiMfiction last night. I don't think I'll post it here as I would get a lot of hate for it. But I will paraphrase this one part "I realized that I haven't seen a season 1 or 2 episode in a long time, so I decided to watch a few, and OMG there so good! I can't believe I forgot how good this show used too be! The season 4 episodes can't even compare to them."

I'm loving Season 4. We're only 10 episodes in and it's already dethroned Season 2 as my favorite season. It's had a great streak of good episodes and an intriguing story arc that I'm waiting to see pay off.

Not really. I'm not someone who allows my personal nitpicks with a show like this to tank on my overall enjoyment thereof.

Then again, I AM that freak who actually kinda liked se03, so feel free to stone me if you must.

Oddly, I kind of feel the same way. I was one of those bizarre weirdos who actually found season 3 better than 1 and 2 (for me, it just had a greater density of fantastic episodes in a smaller running time). Season 4 thusfar has basically been like 1 and 2 in that regard. I have quite enjoyed a number of episodes though - namely Princess Twilight, Castlemania, Daring Don't (*hides*), Bats and Rainbow Falls. I haven't seen Pinkie Apple Pie yet.

I haven't felt one bit of disappointment from this season. Sure, there were a few episodes I didn't like as much at first(Daring Don't, Pinkie Apple Pie), but upon repeat viewings I grew to appreciate those episodes more, so I can't say there's been anything I haven't loved yet.

For a kid's show on a premium cable network, I'd say MLP season 4 is doing a lot to please its fans of all ages and staying awesome, with the story and structure changes and whatnot. Really loving the more adventurous, continuous nature of the episodes as well, the open endings are a huge plus for me. What's yet to come sounds amazing too.

Overall, it's certainly been way better than season 3 was(which wasn't bad really, just sort of lackluster here and there) and much more consistent in quality than any previous season so far, imo anyway.

I'd say that like any other season of MLP it's had it's ups and downs. On one hand, you have great episodes like Power Ponies and Apple Pinkie Pie. On the other hand, you have less-than-satisfying episodes such as Flight to the Finish and Rainbow Falls.

For me, the best way to gauge the season is, "At least it doesn't have an episode worse than Cutie Mark Confidential".

I really liked the first three, but from there, yeah it has been kind of meh. Which is sad cause we had such a huge break, and then it's like 3 Great episodes followed by a bunch of medoicre stuff.

However, that isn't to say pretty much every other season hasn't also made me feel that way too. Especially Season 1; I found a decent string of episodes there weren't all that interesting.

So yeah, kind of dissapointing sometimes. But that's ok because 1) It's only half way through the season and 2) Imo it's par for the course.

It's to early to say it's disappointing, we have had some really good episodes (Flight to the Finish), but we also had some really bad and boring ones (Daring Don't).

I have high expectations for Three's a Crowd, so don't mess this up Hasbro.

I think the music is to forced and the writers need to learn who watches the show.

Thanks all I have to say

THANK YOU! Even when in the Rarity episode where they make a joke about randomly breaking into song, it was more the truth than an ironic joke. That episode was horrible and I love Rarity. The last two episodes have been on par with season 2 though. I will give it that. Season 4 isn't a total disappointment. It is just rough around the edges. I think they need to stick to their guns instead of trying to fit in brony references to suit our general interest. fact of the matter is, we fell for the show because we like the candidness of it.

Yeah I agree that the season is pretty lame at the moment. The majority of the episodes have been a huge let down and totally predictable. I mean in my opinion, if I can predict the plot, then its' a sucky episode. And so far, there have been a lot of sucky episodes. In my opinion that is. ^^

I don't mind a predictable plot, as long as it is done in taste. Like Hearthswarming Eve, Totally predictable but done in good taste. It is the telling of the story that captivates me. I think the story telling in S4 is lacking.

I couldn't agree more, I think they need to stop making episodes for bronies and start making episodes for the family like they used too.

Look we're getting discord next week.

I think that's impossible to buck up.

Knock on wood.

It's been more hit than miss and

season 3 was garbage (mostly).

Do the stingers at the end of the episodes offer anything?  Nah.  but i mean even the bad ones are kinda funny.

I dis liked rainbow falls but it was fun.
