There's a program called Fire Alpaca that's completely free to use and works on Windows and Mac and is WAY better than paint if you want to give it a spin :3 There's tutorials on how to use it on DA I think but it's pretty simple.

I'm curious about this program, how is it when comparing it to something like GIMP or Open Canvas?

@@AccellerantI haven't used either of these softwares but I'll do my best to give you a brief idea as to what it's like

+The lines are very crisp and sharp and smooth (better than photoshop, as good as SAI Tool)

-Lasso tool is VERY tedious

-Difficult to blend colours without a tablet

+Layer blending options (multiply, overly, etc, though not many)

-Limited brushes

-Cannot get unique shaped brushes (e.g. square brushes)

+Pixel tool!

+Gaussian Blur

+Hue and level changers

-Difficult to tell if you're viewing canvas at 100% (nothing to tell you how far in/out you're zoomed in)

+Virtually no lag issues

 

Overall, line quality is FANTASTIC, on par with Paint Tool SAI (FireAlpaca is basically the poor man's Sai Tool) but some tools are tedious and blending is so freaking hard. Honestly, if you can afford it buy Paint Tool SAI (Or be cheat and torrent a key generator for it hue)

 

Hope this helps :3 The best way to experience it though is to just give it a shot
