MLP. Friendship is Magic songs VS. Phineas and Ferb songs

Hello! I am Patterson Rio Tacitus. 

 

Fillies and Gentlecolts! This is important! Because this pole was a week late I am now making up for that, and the fact that I made a mistake in picking a worthy contender for the song Winter Wrap-Up. Instead of making a new poll with two new songs, this week I will be editing this poll with one change. The song S'Winter from Phineas and Ferb will be replaced and all votes will be erased. The reason for this change? Well I really didn't think this one through very well(I guess I was in a bit of a hurry) and I believe that although S'Winter is a nice little song, it really does not compare to one of the greatest and most memorable songs in MLP, that is Winter Wrap-Up(And looking at the comments bellow, I'm certainly not the only one who thinks so). So after about a week of consideration, I believe that I have found a much more worthy opponent.(at least in comparison to the first song)
 

As the title suggests, I will be putting two similar songs from each series up against each other, and by vote, you will choose which song is better.

Why Phineas and Ferb songs? I chose this series to pit against FiM. because I feel that their songs are quite similar. Not in style necessarily, more because both series create many original songs for the episodes that are usually exceptionally good quality, for an animated series. (I do not wish this to become a debate topic here. Please just vote, and maybe leave a comment explaining why you chose the song)

Now I know that most everybody here will probably be partial to MLP, which is why I ask that you listen to both songs, and then try to judge them based on which song is truly better, not necessarily which one you like better. However, if I find that MLP is winning way too much, then I will discontinue these polls. (Don't get me wrong, it just wouldn't be much of a contest if one side always wins because everybody is too partial)

I will be posting a new two songs approximately every two weeks, and I will announce the winners, on this blog, about five weeks after I post the poll.

S'Winter was pretty unmemorable as far as Phineas and Ferb goes. A nice and cute song, but the show has done much better. It doesn't compare to Winter Wrap Up at all.

I was afraid of this. This might partially be because it's quite short compared to "Winter Wrap-Up".

I enjoyed listening to S'Winter even if the song was short, but it was still a nice song nonetheless. The show has produced longer songs than this if I recall, but Winter Wrap Up wins it for me.

My vote would definitely have to go to Winter Wrap Up. I'm trying as hard as I can to think fairly and avoid being biased here. Winter Wrap Up is simply a more catchy song in my opinion. Plus, length also makes up a good portion of the song's overall quality generally speaking. Winter Wrap Up is much longer than S'Winter and therefore it encompasses a lot more characteristics and elements. You get to hear all of the mane 6 sing and express their roles in this song. That fact alone earns it my vote!

I have nothing against Phineas and Ferb (I used to watch it a lot, but kind of stopped watching it), but S'Winter isn't really one of its best songs, and Winter Wrap Up is one of My Little Pony's best songs, so I'm definitely going with Winter Wrap Up. S'Winter is a cute song, but isn't that memorable.

 

Also, why don't you just record the poll results and post them in the OP, and then delete the poll and make a new one for the new songs. Wouldn't that be a bit easier instead of making a whole new thread just for one round of songs?

Eh. I personally find musical themes annoying, unless it is pinkie pie singing it . I think that S'winter is great. Nice and to the point. Since I just watched the "winter wrap up" episode this morning, I must say, the song felt like it would never end. It wasn't a typical MLP song that lasted for no more than a minute, but instead it lasted for nearly three.

Though having a poll like this on a MLP site itself is biased. I mean, most people would obviously choose MLP. S'winter has nothing to look at though. Just a mountain of snow and a backyard compared to the visuals in "winter wrap up".

I seriously can't even stand P&F, my friend used to be obsessed with it. 

 

As for the songs, the structure and pacing of Winter Wrap up is very impressive for a childrens show.  The song itself makes you experience a variety of emotions just from the lyrics alone.  The second bridge where Twilight solos really adds a certain spice to the song, and the fact that they even added that is a testament to their commitment to the content.  Even if that second bridge wasn't there, it would have been a really good tune.  Where this song falls is if you hear it for the first time without any video to help reference the lyrics with, as they only make a little bit of sense.  This is only a minor issue though. 

 

Summer Belongs To You is a good song all in all.  The pop/rock things always works, and the addition of horns really creates a certain excitement, but it does nothing to really creatively distinguish itself apart from other songs of the same genre.  You can tell this tune takes a lot of influence from the rock and roll of the late 50's and early 60's. 

 

If you want to get up and rock out, you want to listen to Summer Belongs To You, but if you want a song that's not afraid to think outside the box, remaining structurally sound, and more than listenable, Winter Wrap Up is for you.

Ah, this is a much more worthy song to compete with WInter Wrap Up. However, I still choose Winter Wrap Up. I just like it more than Summer Belongs To You, but Summer Belongs To You is a great song as well; it, too, has gotten stuck in my head in the past.

Before I became a brony, Phineas and Ferb was the animated show I was watching! I still love it despite its strictly formulaic set-up. The only reason I'm not watching it now is because it went on a hiatus Mid-February 2014.

 

I love both songs equally, but I'll vote for SB2U because it has the least votes. Good pick of choices, though: Winter-related song vs. Summer-related song!
