Do you ever wonder if being a Brony is extinct?

Arc Brony 24

Recommended Posts

Well, a show can die, but its fans still live the average amount of years a human lives! I agree, like many other fandoms, fans will never actually become extinct, the most I can see in the FAR future is endangerment...

However, Twilight is right, this sort of drama and high population can jeopardize certain groups within a fandom.

Great adventuring for great treasures!....Except when I'm hurt...

The thing about MLP is that its a very tried and true franchise thats been around WAY before FiM and people seem to forget that. It's always been incredibly popular and the new direction it's been taken in has just opened it up to a much broader niche instead of being soley young girls. Essentially, it's already a quintessential name and thus it's not about to end anytime soon; and with all of its somewhat "newfound" popularity, the show will just grow with its fanbase seeing as it doens't want to lose the popularity it's gotten with the direction it took. The writers listen to their fans and give them what they want while still keeping true to their own visions which is what will really keep MLP and it's fans alive for years.

Millions.

No, probably just hundred's of thousands.

EqD gets about 500k hits a day, and it's a very popular brony site.

It seems unrealistic to think that on average a brony only goes on EqD only 1 time every 2 days.

I go on it many times everyday.

EqD is just one website, and remember, bronies don't have to be on the internet either.

EqD is a very popular site, though.

I doubt there are very many non-internet bronies since the show is only 20% of what bronies do, fanwork is the rest, and you need the internet to access significant amounts of fanwork.

Just my thoughts.

I think it's just too ridiculous for me to think if Bronies extinct. I mean, I can't imagine the condition where bronies extinct, if you know what I mean.

Please don't be alarmed with me changing names often, I did it for roleplaying purpose.

What? Has the internet become extinct? ;) Way I see it Bronies will never be extinct. The name "Bronies" may be extinct some day. But as long as there are computers there will always be a LARGE group of people that support this show and will remember this show for years and years to come.

It'll stay, while eventual cancellation of the show will thin down the community group largely. Think of it like a game that has come to it's end. Eventually, the community dwindles. Considering the size of the community it'll go down, but stay strong.

I'm still new to the community, but from what I can see from research there are a ton of bronies. So the odds are very slim, maybe a 20% chance of the community crashing, there is about a 80% chance of it staying strong. It all depends on the community, whether it stays strong or dies down.

  • 9 years later...

honestly, for a long time I felt as if there was only a couple of us left in the fandom, but this forum (and 4chan) is still p active, some pony youtubers are also still super active, which gives me a lot of reassurance that no, we're not extinct, it's just that all the trend hoppers left the fandom or some people just aren't interested anymore.
