So I decided to make a forum where we can discuss various news and rumors about the video game industry!

 

Perhaps there's new info on an upcoming title.

A new title is popping up with all sorts of info.

Rumored remakes perhaps?

New Console news? (I mean we do have a sister forum based on one )

Everybody's probably heard of the Steam console.

 

Plus, there's Sim City 5. From what I've seen it's still a 'rumor', although it seems very legit.

I personally don't want the Steam console... it's bad enough with 4 platforms (wii, PS3, X360, PC)... I don't need a 5th to seperate me and my friends...

It would be a change up to the FPS genre for sure.

Since both COD and BF3 have the power to move us out of this Modern FPS craze as of late.

To start things off I'll bring up a new rumor that I saw earlier today.

A fresh new console! And NOT by Microsoft, Sony, Microsoft, and not even Sega, but possibly a new face to the console wars.

 

Valve...

 

You know Valve, that company that made Half Life, TF2, Portal, and Left 4 Dead, that company that made and runs Steam? In the future we might get a Steam console, a Steam Box, or Orange Box, GLaDOS Entertainment Enrichment Console (GEES), or the Companion Cube.

More info? How about controllers! There is apparently information on a possible Steam System controller which looks kinda cool in my opinion!

What I think on the rumor? Well the info on the Controller does seem like they are working on something sorta console like, but I'd like to think its just some equipment to play with your pc games on your Television and a controller to go with it.

 

It could be a console, but it is kinda pointless. We can just play those Steam games on our PC. I would love some Local Multiplayer for some of my Steam games, but I don't think a console can change how the games are programmed.

 

Though a new face is welcomed to the console race since Nintendo is unfortunately going in the wrong directions (though I'm somewhat optimistic for the WiiU and 3DS if the library gets much better), Sony just bores me, and paying for Xbox Live gets a bit annoying when I mainly just use its chat while I play offline.

If it continues to use Steam as is hell I might already have a load of titles for it so perhaps if its cheap I'd buy one. Plus some future PC titles might not run on my current PC so it would be a nice little upgrade.

 

Just an interesting thing from the rumor mill! Thoughts? News? Rumors of your own?

The Steam Console idea is easy enough, but at the same time i don't see the point.

It'll obviously be used to get the not necessarily casual crowd, but the gamers a bit scared of PC gaming.

 

I honestly need more info on the concept, since all I can see is a certified PC Box that would allow publishers to say this game is playable on this box.

Apparently the rumors were true about Assassin's Creed III's protagonist being Native American... well half true at least. He is half white, half Native. I totally called that shit! Cookies for me!

I'm guessing that the mother was a member of the Native American tribe Ratohnhake.

Then the English came and pillaged the land. (Que "Run to the Hills" by Iron Maiden)

Mr. Blandy Bland Englishman came and let's just call it an "illegitimate relationship" with Connor's mother.

 

Connor was born and became a warrior for the Ratohnhake tribe and learns of his real father. Then some tragedy strikes (because there always must be some life altering tragedy) and his Tribe is destroyed.

 

Connor now alone adapts to the White life style. Being angry at the English for killing his tribe he joins with the American Revolution. He uses a bunch of Native American Stealth tactics to help the Americans. Then some plot line happens between Connor and his real father.

 

And then the Revolution is over! Yay America... but wait. Suddenly Templar Conspiracy takes over the new American government!

 

And then end of game... because they have to leave you hanging for Connor's Pointless Milked Out Adventure 2 and 3!

 

I swear if I just guessed the whole game's plot line I'm on fire!

Since there's been numerous subjects on the templars actually helping make america and what not.

It would be a pretty interesting twist if done right.

My main issue is that its just TOO obvious.
