these are great, I find it difficult to believe they're just doodles, it would take me forever to do anything and it would probably still be a thousand times worse

The only picture here that wasn't a doodle is the very first one of two ponies sleeping (Bathory, my pony, and Rainboom, a friend's pony) which took a couple of days. c:

And it just takes hours of hardcore practice, breaking things down into simple shapes and finding your own style~

I've been wondering this for a while now... but how does one create hair that is stringy? I could never manage to do something like that... Perhaps you have a tutorial on that... now that you mention it?

Great adventuring for great treasures!....Except when I'm hurt...

I just do squiggly lines in the general direction I want them in XD If I don't like it I try it again and again~ Sometimes it takes me a while to get them how I want them to be~ It helps doing it with a sharp light pencil or tiiiiny brush (for digital programs since you can't erase paint). If you'd like me to go more into hair for you I could whip you up a really quick tutorial?

Yeah, honestly, I was like that for a long time. I just did very quick 5 minute doodles over and over and over which then turned into 10 minute doodles, 30 minutes, etc etc and now a doodle for me can be up to 3 hours. XD The longest I've worked on anything would be about 7 hours I think, it drains me to do things like that though.

You're welcome c:

In short I colour the hair with the base colour(s), then shade it, then go over the whole thing and put in each strand of hair (it sounds like it takes forever, it can if you do a lot of layers) with tones and highlight colours and sometimes colours from the background and then when I'm happy with it all I'll do the loose strands of hair/squiggly hairs~ c:

I have to agree, hair is hard to do since you need to concentrate on where it's coming from (the crown or what not) and then how it falls, then the layers of hair, etc. I rarely go into extreme detail when I do things though unless it's for college.

Hah, if hair would be the only problem I have... Those backlegs how do they work!? And the nuzzle too is a complete mystery to me.

I love you! <3

I had a lot of problems with the legs, the body shape and muzzle too when I first started drawing ponies. Also, eye placement, which is still a problem for me. Luckily I still have all of my old references that I go back to when I'm really stuck. Here's a few that might help you:

You have amazing art :3 It's so lovely~ I love your style!

HNNNNG, Might have to commission you at some point ;D

O: Commissions are LOVED. Especially since I need the money~ One of my cats needs to go to the vet to be shaved, his coat is all matted. (He was pretty much abandoned by his last owners and we have their permission now so we can take him to the vet)

How much would it be for a two character coloured piece? :3 I know you seem to prefer to draw darker stuff, but I'd want it themed all lovey and stuff :U

Hmmm it depends on how detailed you want it really >_>

£5 for the first pony (full body, coloured), +£4 for each additional pony, +£3 for a background~

I'll need references of both ponies, what pose you would like, what kind of background you want (If you want the background to be just a gradient or white/transparent it doesn't cost anything extra), and what kind of expressions you want, etc.
