I love this anime (well, most of it). I stayed up all last night just to finish it and now all I wanna do is talk about it. So if there's any other fans out there, please don't hesitate to dicuss whatever you want about it. :3

Yay an Oreimo thread :D this anime is pretty sweet. It was an interesting experience watching it as a brony (those who have seen the show know what I'm talking about).

I wasn't too big a fan of the ending, but the series was very enjoyable for the most part and features a lot of great characters. I think I liked season 1 more than season 2, but some of my favorite scenes from the show were in season 2.

Oh, and Kuroneko is just the cutest thing ever <3

I'd have really preferred the show if it hadn't veered off into the harem thing so much and instead focused on him and Kirino just repairing their bond as siblings. It'd have made the thing more satisfying for me, in addition to feeling less contrived and odd.

I'll admit that I felt for  Kuroneko and Ayase when they got turned down, but it leaves an even worse taste in your mouth knowing that he screwed with so many relationships only for him and Kirino to end up separate in the end too. Realistic, sure, but if you're going to throw away so much for the sake of being in love with your little sister, stick with it.

I also thought the "Manami is actually a manipulative bitch who caused the whole series by making Kyousuke boring and unspecial and distant" thing was ridiculous. There was no indication that she was anything other than a very kind, plain, longtime friend and it just felt like a way to force people to lash out against her and get behind the incestuous relationship. Can't say it didn't entirely work, but I still feel it threw her under the bus.

Overall, a very flawed show but one I still liked a lot. With less romance and less treating Kyousuke and Kirino as if the world revolves around them, it could've been even better in my opinion. It had loads of lovable and entertaining characters, was very good at drawing laughs out of me, and could be very touching as well.

It also brought us the immortal Bike Man. I want to be just like him when I grow up.

Since this anime is filled with all sorts of hilarious and great scenes, what are some of your favorite scenes from it?

I wouldn't say this is my absolute favorite, but it's definitely a nice one. Just a cute little scene between Kyousuke and Kuroneko :)

Sigh.. watching this really makes me wish that they could have at least done an alternative Kuroneko route ending ;_;

I love the music from this show. Especially when it's this touching ;3

That's a really good one, yeah :). I really loved the music playing when

Kirino and Kyousuke had their confrontation with Manami at the end

but can't find it anywhere :c

what are some of your favorite scenes from it?

I really liked it when

Kyousuke defended Kirino's hobbies to their father, just because it showed how far he's willing to go for her even if she treats him like shit. Bonus points for managing to be both touching and hilarious at the same time

@ and

Good choices. :)

One of mine would be...

When Kuroneko confesses to Kyousuke and asks him to go out with her. You could tell how sincere and genuine she was being. And then she starts listing all the benefits of being him being her boyfriend lol. It was cute and funny.

... I should have hated this anime. I should have looked at the perverted jokes, the terrible transition from one season to the next, the unlikeable secondary character, the unnecessary slapstick, the brutal character abuse, and all the things that normally turn me away from anime and absolutely DESPISED this anime.

... So why the hell did I enjoy it?

Oreimo is something interesting for me because it really does embody everything I hate while still somehow holding a special place in my heart. I want to hate it. I really do. I mean, the flaws. My god, don't even get me started on the NOTICEABLE changes in character personalities from season 1 to season 2. Manami being changed to be more mean-spirited and Ayase... yeah, I get it, she's supposed to be unlikeable, but she was never a complete jackass who'd punch someone in the face. She was annoyed with Kyosuke, but does anybody else remember the fact that she's supposed to be gentle and kind? I mean, yeah, she worries about Kirino being around him now, but... god. With lack of a better term, she really became a full-on b**ch.

And yet... somehow, I still love it. I... I just...

I think I've told some of you guys before, but I have a poster of this anime in my room.  I love it so much!  Especially Kuroneko, but all of the other girls are great too.  Except for Manami.  I hate that bitch.

I'm halfway through the first episode, and I love it already. It kind of reminds me of Watamote so far. I haven't laughed this hard at an anime before. I almost spilled my drink everywhere.

I'd love to re-watch it at some point, seriously, I freaking loved this anime, all the way through to the end! :yay: Only problem is, my anime 'schedule' is kinda packed right now ... but I will do such things as these, in time. :P

I just started watching yesterday! I'm on Season 1 Episode 4 :)

So far, I love it. This is the kind of show that makes me want to watch more and more. Sadly though, I've heard reviews of the show saying how it gets crappy further on like how "Kirino becomes a bitch", "there's no character development" and "the show focuses on the wrong things". I've heard this from many people so it's sad to hear since it seems like it could have had so much potential.

I watch anime VERY rarely. I think I've only seen like 5 animes in my life or something. But I have a question for you otaku people:

Do you know any other show that is similar to Oreimo? I really love shows that are funny and has cute characters in them. That's the main reason why I started to watch this show. One of my friends has showed me an anime called "Little witch academia" which also is the kind of anime I want. I don't really care that much what the plot is about as long as it is interesting enough to keep me watching. I like both adventure stuff and slice of life. For example, I want to get as far away as possible for animes like "Fullmetal Alchemist".

Oreimo or Ore no imouto ga konna ni kawaii wake ga nai or "My little sister can't possibly be this cute" is an anime show from 2010 based on some light novels from 2008. There are also a manga from 2009.

The show is basically the girl Kirino and her massive love for eroge games. The story follows this girl Kirino and her brother Kyosuke through some everyday life problems where they have to try keep this hobby of hers secret and so on. It's a very cute and fun slice of life show but I must tell you that it is a bit suggestive and there are a couple of... incest...ish things in the show.

Actually, just press this link

Note: this video doesn't really have anything with the actual show to do, it's just the intro to something Kirino likes, it's in the bonus dvd or something but I though it'd be pretty cool to share.

Glad to see you're enjoying it C: I would stay away from the reviews or any spoilers for and let you decide on your own if you like the ending or not. Personally, I don't really like how it concluded either but there are still some thing about the end that I appreciate. That's all I'll say for now XD

K-On! I'll just quote something I said earlier in a thread I made for this series.

K-On! is a series about a group of girls who form a band in high school. It was first a manga (which I admittedly haven't read yet) and then adapted into an anime.

The series centers more on the characters and their friendships than the actual music. This is fine in my opinion though, because the characters are the best part of this series ^^

Alright so I just finished watching the very last episode and I gotta say, I absolutely loved this show. It's everything I'd want for an anime and I just can't stop re-watching scenes because of their cuteness! Fluid animation, cute characters you will fall in love with for sure, fun stories and amazing music. I've listened to the soundtrack of stardust witch meruru as well as the theme for season 1 a million times or something, they're fantastic :3 It even had funny perverted conversations to laugh at for us pervnerds too c:

Except for the ending, the only problem I had with the show was that it brought up a few things which got you excited to then not even mention them in later episode as if it never happened. I've seen a lot of people complaining about this and I'm with them, however it's not that much of a big deal to me. Just something minor. Apparently a lot of people hate Kirino for being such a bitch but I don't. I kind of liked it actually haha. I know it sounds weird but a lot of her reactions felt very realistic and I can relate to a lot of things she does... My own little sister is bitchy as well.. <(。_。)>

Most of the episodes were great though. There are a few less entertaining episodes (and a few hilariously funny ones), but I can't say that I disliked any of them.

As for the ending, it's just as everyone says. Well, not everything but the ending was pretty lame. There's a lot of people saying you should not watch any more episodes than to Season 2 Episode 13 and I can see why they think so, however I personally think you could watch a little bit further.

If you're planning to watch this anime (which you can find on any torrent site, can't post it here) my personal opinion is that you should stop watching at Season 2 Episode 15 (or well it's a special episode if I understood it right so it's not a part of season 2 really) which is the episode right before the last one (sure the last one has the final touches but in the end it'll just disappoint).

Now let me explain why. Sure you could also end at the 21:12 time mark in the very last episode (trust me, you don't want to watch even one second more than that, I know you will do it anyway just like I did but I regret it and it'll just be a disappointment and ruin everything for ya, 21:12 should be the way it ends anyway according to the writer but the stupid publisher company changed the ending), but in my opinion, the last episode just killed a good character.

Therefore, end at episode 13 if you think it has a fine ending, at episode 15 or 16 @21:12 if you want the real end. Just stay away from the part after 21:12 and pretend it doesn't exist.
