Comet blushed slightly as Jared grabbed her hand. Though, she found the crowd very daunting. Comet wasn't really a fan of crowds, or tight spaces. But, she wasn't as bothered as she normally would be for some reason or another. Comet then filled out the form, making sure everything she had written on it was correct twice. "I think I'll bring Duosion." The trainer said, noting that she could only bring one pokemon.

 

When the contest had begun, Comet immediately scanned the area to see if she could see any pokemon, and then summoned Duosion. "Alright, Duosion. Let's split up, ok?" Duosion nodded and floated in some random direction. The first thing to catch Comet's eye was a little Combee. It was quite cute, and Comet remembered hearing that if they had a stripe on their head, they could evolve into a very powerful pokemon. However, this Combee didn't appear to have those stripes. Comet best keep looking.

 

Duosion, on the other hand, was inspecting a shaking bush, with an indifferent expression.

"Why?  Hmpf, it's simple really...  This world is built on the bones of the less fortunate.  I plan to change that."  Mason lifts one hand out of his pocket, releasing his Absol.  The pokemon doesn't move to attack, just stands next to his trainer obediently.  It would almost seem like Mason had released the pokemon just to be in its presence.

 

"When you lose everything, truly everything, this world we live in doesn't care.  Others are flooded with relief that it didn't happen to them - and the poor soul who has already suffered is left to suffer more, until that suffering builds upon itself to the point where they can't take it anymore.  By re-writing this world into one where everyone suffers, I will prevent that from happening to anyone in the future.  I'm well aware that this world will not look kindly upon my actions, but this world has already taken everything else from me.  If I can take something from it, in order to stop others from going through what I've gone through?  Then I'll not stop until this world bleeds."

 

Reaching up to adjust the scarf hiding the lower half of his face, Mason hesitates for a moment before placing his hand on his Absol's head.  "I've told you my reasons, Joybringer.  Now tell me, why do you desire to blind the world with lies?"

"The machine?" Leon asked. "Not sure. It looked like it might be some sort of portal or something. I suppose I'll find out soon enough..." he said with the blueprints still in his bag. "Now if you'll excuse me I'd like to keep looking around this place. Hopefully I can find some spare parts or something. You can help if you want, just make sure you don't slow me down." he said continuing on his way.

Renee shrugged, and tagged along. She felt a little uncomfortable. Maybe it was just the distance between her and Taylor. He must be halfway across the city by now. "Of course." Renee clearly didn't understand a lot of the gadgetry, but not for lack of enthusiasm. Every now and then, she would exclaim over some spare gear or pointless doohickey, but nothing, that she could tell, that was of any real importance. Until she saw something glittering under a length of wire. Whatever it was, it was semitransparent, with a purplish, sinister tint. There seemed to be something round in the middle of it. Renee exclaimed again, half expecting Leon to ignore her, as she reached out for it.

Jared wandered in the same general direction as Comet, towards where Combee were buzzing around their hives. The bees didn't look that great, but he had a hunch that lots of other bugs liked honey. He remembered reading something about Heracross in a book somewhere, and about the Mothim he would sometimes find when travelling around Sinnoh. He hadn't been home in ages.

"You're right, Fearsower. The world is unbalanced, and the unfortunate are on the bottom." Taylor shrugged. He kept Manectric withdrawn out of good faith, yet his hand was on the pokeball. He wasn't sure he could trust Mason, but wanted to grant the benefit of the doubt. "I think, however, that these people have potential in their hearts to grow to be more, and to right the scale. If you add more fears to the heavy side, the unfortunate, that half of the scale just grows heavier and becomes even more unbalanced. Ever heard of a heavy heart? That's what you create with your fear. I lighten hearts, and right the scale. And lies? I don't blind the world. The world cannot see without light and love." Taylor sighed, and scratched his ear. "I'm sorry to hear you haven't had a happy past, Fearsower, but there are better ways to make amends for your own losses. Really, there are."

Mason shakes his head briefly before turning to walk away again, having no desire to get into a fight now.  "I've long since closed my eyes to that light, Joybringer.  When it is needed most is when the light goes out - and then we're left only with darkness.  The darkness never leaves; it can only be held back.  As soon as the light wavers, it invades again."

 

Glancing down at his Absol, Mason beckons for the pokemon to follow him.  "Come, Gabriel...  We're not here to fight."  As he starts to walk away, Mason hesitates long enough to glance over his shoulder at Taylor.  "I wish I could believe in the world you imagine, Joybringer.  I truly do.  But it is nothing but a dream...  And dreams cannot exist without the threat of nightmares."

As Cedric got closer to the specks he noticed that the sparks that were surrounding the little dots came from some sort of webbing. "Jolt! Jolt!" on of the specks said as it came up to Cedric. Upon further inspection these specks were Pokemon called Joltik, imported straight from Unova and quite rare in Johto. 

Meanwhile the grass Revvy was searching through was almost as tall as he was. He soon stumbles upon a lone Weedle hiding in the tall grass which stares at him curiously.

The bush stopped shaking as Duosion got close. Before the psychic Pokemon could react a Heracross jumped out of the bush and attacked the Combee, defeating them with little to no effort. With the Combee gone Heracross started eating the honey that was slathered across the tree.

Jared wandered amongst the honey trees some ways past Comet, and approached one that was wriggling as well. 

 

 

 

"Gah, I told you to stop squealing over every little-" Leon stopped as he saw what Renne had found. "Hello what this?" he said almost snatching the item from Renee, unintentionally of course. "A Dubious Disc eh? I've been looking for one of these things for ages." he said quite pleased. "I guess it wasn't a complete waste of time bringing you along. Thanks....Renee was it?" he asked. He wasn't even sure if this girl had introduced herself as he most likely just read her mind without knowing it. In fact he was doing a lot of things without realizing it, acting rather ugly to Renee being one.

 

 

"I... Did Taylor tell you my name?" Renee looked confused, then said, "Well, since you know me, you should give me your name too. It might make up for your attitude." She winked at him. Man, she was an oddball, no doubt.

As Comet was just about to move on, and look for stuff other than Combee, the little bug types were suddenly attacked by a much bigger bug type, followed suit by a Duosion. The pokemon certainly seemed like something Comet wouldn't mind adding to her team, and it seemed pretty rare too. "Wow! Awesome find, Duosion! I knew you were the right choice for this!" Comet exclaimed. This was one of the rare occasions Comet actually praised Duosion over Serperior, but Duosion merely huffed, readying itself for a command. "Use Psyshock!" With that, Duosion created what seemed to be shards of psychic energy, and aimed them all around the Heracross.

"Jeez you're tiny! Cloud, use Fairy Wind on it. Make sure not to hit the thing too hard."  The Whimsicott started waving her arms slightly, and a pink wind started blowing towards the small pokemon. Finally the slight breeze became a full gust as it hit the Joltik.

 

Revvy sighed at the sight of the Weedle and threw out his Skrelp. "It's better than nothing. And we can always replace it later. Lazybones, use Acid or something." The lazy Pokemon simply started snoring and his head lolled a couple of times before Revvy kicked him lightly. "Lazybones!" The Skrelp bubbled it's annoyance before lazily shooting a glob of Acid at the small Pokemon.

"Where do you think he could be?" Indigo whispered to Emolga and Fletchinder. She planted her beret more firmly onto her head and continued to slowly walk down the corridor, trying to spot the disciple in one of the many rooms. She turned a corner and realised that she was back at where she started. "Actually, in retrospect, this place doesn't seem taht big. It just extends deeper and deeper into the earth. There's got to be something else here other than a whole bunch of computer banks!" Indigo dashed down a different corridor to the one she had taken before to try and see if she can find any stairs. Emolga and Fletchinder were used to her erratic sense of direction.

Sekashi was almost in the same place as Indigo is well it looks the same "ugh i hope Zekrom told us the right location of the disciple " she whispered to Luxray who was sniffing out the room for any signs of the disciple right now she's looking for stairs to go deeper underground she winds up in the place where she first started she sighed and dashed into a corridor to see if there are any stairs her Luxray was right behind her.

"Finally." Cain panted after the one final sprint, he could now see Saffron City pretty close up, "I must be honest with you two, I've never been to Kanto, let alone any of it's cities, we will just have to hope the other Disciple will see my red iris." He sighed, putting his Honedge in it's Pokeball before pressing on into the city in search of his contact.

Leave Saffron, and we'll stop following you." Taylor turned his back on his foe, and walked away. "Good luck, Fearsower. I hope you can find the light again someday."

Hesitating for a moment, Mason turns around.  Shortly before Taylor would have been out of earshot, he speaks up again.  "Taylor."  Waiting for the other boy to pause, Mason continues.  "I cannot leave Saffron yet...  But I'll not prey on the innocents, so as to not force a confrontation with you and your sister."

 

Pausing again, he looks down at his Absol.  "...I justify my actions by saying I follow Darkrai for the world - my true motives are far more selfish.  If you wish to know more, I will be staying at an inn near the outskirts of the city...  I will leave the door unlocked tonight.  You and your sister may come find out more if you wish."  He pats his pokemon on the head as he continues.  "I would swear on my life that it'll not be a trap, but my life lost value to me long ago.  So I'll swear on Gabriel's.  He is one of the two things I have left in this world."

 

Turning to continue walking away, he calls out over his shoulder just before walking out of hearing range.  "If you choose not to come, I at least ask you do not interfere with my next hunt.  Believe me when I say that my target is far from innocent...  And he is somewhere here in Saffron."

Once he arrived in Saffron, Cain devoted all of his time into finding this Henry. He knew that it would not be an easy task with so many people in the city, yet still there couldn't be that many people with one re iris. Though he occasional sent Bisharp to look, he was confident that either he would find this disciple, or he would be found.

Duosion's attack hit the Heracross dead on. Normally Heracross minded it's own business but it now became angry because of the attack. "Cross! Heracross!" the Pokemon cried out. It came at Duosion with a powerful Horn Attack.

 

@@Ampharos,

The Joltik was swept away by the attack and was knocked into a nearby tree that sported a a rather large web by it. From it came a Galvantula, most likely it's mother who shot an Electroweb attack at both Cedric and Whimsicott.

The Weedle stood there and took the Acid attack from Lazybones. While it didn't hurt too much the Weedle still flinched as it wasn't all that strong.

As Indigo and Sekashi searched the weather institute the building shook followed by water dripping down and coming from some nearby stairs. It seemed like they were heading in the right direction.

"Crow! Murkrow!" it seemed like a Murkrow was trying to get Cain's attention as it called out from a nearby power line and signaled for him to follow before it flew off.

"Keep a sharp eye out... This may be a trap from another disciple," Cain called his Bisharp to his side and they both chased after the Murkrow, trying to act as least suspiciously as possible, as if they were late for something. There must be a reason why he sent his Murkrow to find me... Either that or... He quickly snapped out of his thoughts, Cain knew he would need all of his senses fully operational if this was indeed a trap.

Indigo ran past a flight of stairs when she felt the building shake. Stopping in her tracks, Indigo looked over to a flight of stairs and saw some water dripping down. "Seems like we're going up to the second floor. Sorry to put you back in here Flame, but it's for safety reasons." She recalled Fletchinder and proceeded to walk up the staircase.

"Reflect!" Comet commanded Duosion, who had no chance of dodging the attack. Duosion managed to execute the move just before it was hit by Heracross' attack, quite hard. "Now, Shadow Ball!" Duosion, who was already in close range of the Heracross, used the move with great ease. Heracross was an easy target this close.

 

Without knowing how damaged Heracross was, Comet threw a Sport Ball at it, hoping it would catch.

Cedric jumped back as Cloud dived in front of him to take the attack. "Gah! Son of a- Cloud use Fairy Wind again! Don't hold back!" Once again the pink colored breeze picked up before becoming a full gust of magenta air that blasted straight towards the Galvantula. Not wanting to weaken the Pokemon too much, as that usually affects the grade, he immediately threw a Sport ball at it.

 

Revvy sighed as the Weedle took the hit. He lazily through a Sport Ball at it and started walking towards it. If the thing had been caught, he would pick up the ball, but if the Pokemon broke free he would walk past the Pokemon in search for others, not wanting to waste any more time with it.

Sekashi stood still when the building shook "alright time to be more careful now Lucy" she said she made her way upstairs and Luxray was right besides her she made her way up cautionly she definitely does not want water dumped on top of her head right now.

"Hm? Oh I'm Leon." he said still examining the Dubious Disc. "Anyway it doesn't seem that there's anything too interesting up here. However..." Leon started for a nearby flight of stairs. "An energetic Pokemon?" Renee paused, thinking. Obviously, he meant energetic like electric, not like those Vigoroth and Primeape that cold never sit still. "Not really, unless you count that Porygon2, and I have a feeling that's not what you're referring to. There was a weird buzzing and whirring near the door to the stairwell two or three floors down, but that could've been anything."

 

 

 

Jared was getting a little irritated. It seemed Comet was having wild success, and good for her, but he seemed to have picked the only batch of honey trees that DIDN'T have bugs crawling all over them. In Sinnoh you couldn't keep bugs away from the things. Confused, he kept wandering, hoping something notable would pop out.

The Murkrow eventually lead Cain to a dark alley, away from everyone else, before disappearing into the shadows. Seconds later red eyes appeared from the darkness and a wicked chuckle could be heard. "Heheheh..." Cain obviously wasn't alone. Before he could react a creature jumped from the shadows "GAR!" it's mouth was wide open and it sported a rather long tongue. "Gengar..." it said with a devilish smile. It seemed as if it was about to charge up a Shadow Ball.

When they arrived on the next floor they immediately noticed that it was soaking wet with scientists and guards scattered about, all unconscious. As they continued on they saw a girl dressed in blue with a couple red streaks in her hair. She was with her Pokemon, a Vaporeon and a Seadra, and was reaching for a curious blue orb. "Hm? Oh great." she said once she saw Indigo and Sekashi enter the room. "Let me guess your followers of Groudon right? Maybe Celebi?" she said annoyed. "Well I suppose it doesn't matter who you follow, I can't let you get in my way. Vaporeon use Water Pulse. Seadra, Twister." the Pokemon did as they were told with Vaporeon firing pulses of water at the duo while Seadra whipped up a small tornado aimed at the two.

The Heracross was knocked back by the Shadow Ball and was soon struggling to escape from the Sport Ball. It shook three times but Heracross popped out right before the click. "Heracross!" it said now furious at Comet. It once again ignored Duosion and aimed another Horn Attack straight at Comet herself.

 

@@Ampharos,

Both the Fairy Wind and the Sport Ball landed direct hits. However the ball only shook once before Galvantula escaped and proceeded to fire an Electoball at Cottonee.

It seemed Revvy was having much better luck than Comet and Cedric as the Weedle stayed in the Sport Ball without a problem.

"That's probably it." Leon said. "I think the scientists called it Rotom. I've heard that it can posses different machines and kinda become one with them." he explained before they reached the desired floor. They could hear said buzzing and whirring from behind a door labeled "Do Not Enter." Leon, of course, used his powers to open the door. The room was pitch black except for the light creeping in from the now busted door. "Well I suppose we should start looking. Got something that can give us some light? Like a fire type or an electric type?" he asked Renee.

"Betty! Electro Ball!" Indigo shouted to Emolga as she rolled out of the way of Vaporeon's Water Pulse. She knew she couldn't stop the Twister but she could at least slow it down. "So you're a follower of Kyogre huh? Why do you want to flood the world then?" Indigo asked as she attempted to slow the Twister down by manipulating the air currents around it. Emolga fired a ball of electricity towards Vaporeon.

This time, Duosion was nowhere close enough to Comet to block the attack. Causing the attack to just barely miss the girl, as she had jumped out of the way just in time. However, the small explosion that had occurred when the Heracross instead collided with a tree, didn't exactly treat Comet very well, making her fumble on her feet and fall to the ground. "Ow..." She mumbled to herself, having a hard time returning to her feet. Comet's ankle felt like it was burning. But, now was no time to relax. "Duosion! Psyshock again!"

Cedric cursed under his breath as Cloud took the Electroweb again. It was a good thing she resisted Electirc type moves. "Um... Just use Fairy Wind again Cloud. There isn't much else we can do to this thing." The Whimsicott nodded defiantly before kicking up another Fairy Wind and sending it at the Galvantula. Cedric tried another Sprt Ball after that.

 

Revvy sighed when the Weedle decided not to break free and put the Sport Ball in his pocket. "Let's hope we have some better luck in the shorter grass Lazybones." Revvy and the Skrelp exited the abnormally tall grass and went into the next large patch of shorter grass.
