She turned and blinked at the pegasus pony for a second...wondering why she'd come up to her so abruptly...unless she... Then it suddenly clicked.

 

Lightwing? Is that you? She blinked again with curiostiy then exictement built up in her belly. She wanted to hug the long lost mare she'd not seen since the cabin incident. She was overwhelmed with joy to see she wasn't hurt and supposedly didn't seem scared from the event. She calmed herself, not wanting to draw any attention. Ahem...Lightwing? It's been a long time! How's it going? You look like you've been doing well.

 

She pulled up a stool and sat down on it, still taking the cautions of not letting her horn slip out from under her hood, and pushed another stool out for the Lightwing to sit on. Then she leaned in, so only they could talk to each other without others ease dropping.

 

I never thought I'd see you around these parts since the cabin incident. I actually wasn't planning on coming to this tavern myself... I was dropped off miles from Ponyville by request after.. well, she rubbed her head blushing at the fact she had "royal duties", I had been out to a diplomatic meeting with the Eastern Gryphon Empire again. It wasn't anything special, just going over the treaties with the dragons of the north again. Change this and change that and both sides had to agree etc...etc... blah blah, it was quite boring. Then my escort flew me back to the outskirts of Ponyville where I asked them to cause I didn't want to draw any attention to myself. If you might recall...she blushed a bit, I just don't like the attention of everypony in Equestria to know I'm a alicorn. But anyways, it took me awhile to fly back to Ponyville. I was going to head straight home to my cave where Night Lights my husband is, but I was tired, sweaty, needed something to drink. This was the closest place for me to land at...well....wouldn't call it my finest landings either... she rubbed her head again in embrassment.

Lightwing started to remember all those events that happened during her stay on the cabin...All the death,the mystery,but,for some reasion,she couldn't remember anymore after Wolf's death,but,she knew that all ended well,because,after all,she was talking with the mare who they had to protect.You're like always,Bliss.Don't wanting to attract any attention...About my life,after all that incicent,I decided that it was being time to stop from so many travelling,and I continued with my passion here,on Ponyvile.She took another sip from the cider,and continued from talking.I'm currently studying dragonology,the study of the dragons.

She put a serious face at Bliss.Do we have now a good relationship with dragons?Yes.But we still don't know a lot about them,and I want to change that...She started to whisper to her,ensuring that nopony was hearing them.Your actions had made one of the biggest advances on the field of the Dragonology,but we're still too far from knowing about them...But then,she smiled again.But it's enought about me!What happened with the others?You know,Volt,Seth and Skylar...

She grinned hearing she was studying in dragonlore and thought wouldn't it be nice to invite her to meet her dragon husband, Night Lights, who was the only shape shifting dragon in existence. But when Lightwing diverted the topic to what happened at the cabin, her large ears folded under her hood as flash backs from the past came billowing back to her mind. She sighed, took a sip of some apple cider that was given to her, and pushed her pink goggles off her eyes, revealing her green/blue eyes.

 

So much had happened when you were knocked out Lightwing...Wolf was killed in Seth's vampire rage...Skylar and Volt were badly injured and... I got sick...I can't recall what I caught but I was coughing up blood and...Well the only way to stop the disease from spreading was... She turned away, a tear trickled down her cheek remebering that horrible event. She took a deep breath then turned back to the waiting pegasus, Seth was forced to turn me into a vampire in order to save my life...but as a result...it unleased the dark impusles of my being... Blight is what I called her...The vampire disease forced her into reality and she tried to take over my mind, just like Seth was facing in his own mind...

 

But we both were able to prolong our dark impulses, and flew away from the cabin so we wouldn't endanger our surviving friends. Don't worry, she placed a hoof friendly like on Lightwings' shoulder in assurence, Doctor Volt and Skylar made it out ok at least. But anyways... she took another sip and continued, I carried Seth all the way to the Crystal Empire. He said he was good friends with Prince Shining Armor, and with the help of Princess Cadence, we were able to vanquish the vampire disease from both our bodies... We are both cured since then, no vampire within us at all!

 

She grinned happily, and finished off the rest of her cider and paid for another one.

 

I do know a couple years after the fact Seth was a victiem of a terrorist attack during a diplomatic mission. He's got a biomechanical arm now thanks to Doc. Volt. Skylar has married his mare Callette and I believe Volt is still working at the Ponyville Dam. As for me, royal duties now and then as usual like this week. But did you mention you were studying dragons? Because I'm not sure if you were aware but... She leaned over and pushed her cape out of the way, revealing her large saddle bags and unhooked the patch. She then pulled out a picture, revealing herself and Night Lights together.

 

 

Night Lights is not only my protector, my personal guard, he's also my husband. He's a shape shifting dragon. He didn't used to be though until our friend Polaris was able to to magicaly create a shape shifting gem, which Night Lights ate, and now he can transform into any being he wishes, including his own pony form. Anyways, she placed the picture back in her bag, if you ever want to meet him, maybe that will help you in your research? I'm sure he'd be happy to help you answer any questions you might have about his dragon ancestory.

Lightwing heard everything what happened on the cabin while she was unconscious.There's a thing that i don't know...Meanwhile you were passing through that situations on the cabin,i had appeared on a clean field,outside the mountain...I'll never know what happened exactly,and why i had survived...But now i'm happy to be alive,and for now,that'enought....Then,she heard about what happened with the other meanwhile she was unconscious.So Wolf has died...I knew that the Vampire side of Seth was powerful,but,to kill an alicorn...He really had the power of the wolves...

And i'm lucky that the others are alive...If you see Skylar someday,say to him that i wish him luck on her new adventure,who's the marriage.And if you see Volt,say to him too that someday he have to show me the Ponyvile Dam.

Oh,and for Seth,say to him that I wish him luck on his rehabilitation of his arm....On that moment,she started to see Bliss's picture of Night LIghts,and that she was married to him....Married to a dragon,with shapeshifting powers...It's true after all that the love doesn't know limits....She ordered another mug of cider,and then she heard Bliss about if she wanted to know her husband

Mmm...That would really helpful for my investigation.Knowing directly from a dragon their manners of life...If that doesn't bother you...

*The doors of the tavern open with a <bang> as a gust of wind whips through the commons room. A chestnut colored earth stallion enters and fights with the wind to close the door. After a moment, the wind concedes the battle and the door finally shuts with a <thud>. The stallion turns to scan the room, satisfied with what he sees he approaches the bartender.* "Tea, earl grey,hot. Thankyou."

She then noticed a stallion unicorn with a top hat along with a shabby earth pony enter the tavern and requesting a drink. The unicorn seemed to act very proud of himself, while the other quiet and mysterious.

 

She kept her head down more not wanting to draw attention and hoped this wasn't an alicorn from Canterlot that might of heard of her rank. Psst... Lightwing? This is a peaceful tavern right? Not a whole late of crazy stuff happends here right? I just...don't want to be noticed...

Flash puts his tea down and straightens out his wind-blown mane, settling the errant strands if grey streaked mahogany back into order. She nodded and grinned, relaxing for the moment.

 

I really am too paranoid with it I know... she shrugged at bit at the notion she meant her stature, but I just don't want ponies to see who I am and expect me to be as royal as Luna or Celestia or Twilight, Cadence etc. I'm probably the poorest royal around! Well ok that's not true, I mean Night Lights mines gems and hoards gold and bits, so we are well financed on our own, but its not like we flush it around. We love our holding up in the Ponyville mountains, where it's quiet and we won't be bothered too much.

 

She sipped her cider then raised her hoof towards the barkeeper. Scuse'me, may I have some apple pie if you got it? Thank you! She smiled brightly hearing her tummy growling, knowing it will be soon satisfied with a big heaping slice of apple pie to settle it down. Once she got her plate, without thinking she levitated the spoon up and scooped up a bite, munching happily on it as she spoke.

 

Buts, she spoke while chewing, wes loves to sees Ponysville...takes a walk around, she gulped, the town, see what's new in the stores. I really love visiting Apple Acers booth. Buying fresh apples from Big Mac is always refreshing for the both of us. What about you? She placed her spoon down with her levitation and streatched out her wings without thinking. What do you do in Ponyville to relax?

Lightwing smiled at her and nooded.I can't force you to reveal your..Alicornhood...But you have to learn that you made wonderful things.Per example,you managed to end with a discording between the races that lasted for too much time.Come on!You've won your...horn...and you managed to become a princess!You'll think that you're not as important as Celestia,Luna,Cadence or even Twilight,but,excuse me,your actions has been more important that the actions from the same princesses.She started to move around herself and to point to multiple places at the same time.You're still young,and I can ensure that you have a veery long road in front of you,to make this world a better place...

 

Then,she heard Bliss's question about relaxing.Hmmm...Interesting question...Lightwing started to think...What she does on Ponyvile to relax?.Well...Ponyvile is a very calmed place.Practicaly,the mere fact of staying here is...well,relaxing!Look around yourself!She starts to point to multiple ponies,who were having fun with each other,while talking.

She watched Lightwing gesture around the tavern and followed her motion, nodding in agreement seeing all the pleasent happy faces of the others enjoying their drinks, food and the company. The whole tavern had a cheerful fling to it despite noticing a few uncomfortable faces from time to time.

 

You're right, this is a nice place, probably one of the nicest I've seen in awhile. She sipped her cider and levitated another bite of apple pie. I was born in Cloudsdale and we didn't really have tavern's like these. But when my father passed away and I moved down to Appleloosa with my mother and my step father, things were a bit different there too. They had "bars" not so much taverns. And they didn't have much options in regards to drinks and food. It all tended to be apple orginated... She looked down at her pie and apple cider then. But ironically when I come to a tavern in Ponyville I still order Applecider and Apple Pie! She giggled for a moment at the humor of it and sipped more on her cider.

 

Hows your family life anyways Lightwing? I know I've been missing my mother back in Appleloosa lately now that I think about it.

Lightwing then started to think about her family...Now that you talk about family,it passeda long time since i've last visited mine....She took a sip from the cider and continued talking.My parents work on the Weather Factory,on Cloudsdale,but since i've started to travel around the world,I didn't had time to visit them...Maybe is being time for visit them!

She blinked again not having been asked that question before, then looked down at her rump to stare at her cutiemark for a moment.

 

Well... I know when it appeared, I was actually a mid young teen filly... I was working on some art projects for my school, but I had so many projects to do, and wanted to do them all. But then I had a family event that was coming up that I didn't want to miss out on, so I did the projects and the event. But soon after that some school friends invited me to a movie so I did that, then went to listen to some music, bake some cake and cookies and eat it. Then I went to socialize with some exchange students from the Gryphon Kingdoms...

 

She paused a second to make sure Lightwing was keeping up, then continued.

 

This all happened within one day...and it dawned on me. I LOVED everything in my life! I love school, my family, my artwork, music, trying new things and meeting new ponies or gryphons etc! But I was so sponatnious in my loves that I was practically everywhere! In that moment I knew what my talent was...To have have energy in all my loves...to lover and enjoy everything and everypony in my life... That's when this bad stud appeared, she turned her stool just enough so that her rump displaying her cutiemark was clearly visible for the pegasus to see.

 

Course now it's got a bigger reprsentation...The Gryphon Empire as well as the dragons of the north see my cutie mark as a symbol of peace and unity...and in a way I suppose it is. All these colors...these beings...these nations, coming together, united in a powerforce that is my lightning bolt I suppose... Least that's what Emperss Nortica tells me.

Lightwing listened at all the story,and then her jaw opened,on surprise.Wow...Such a...Cool story...Mine is different....She shows her cutie mark.Thre big sparks,and,surrounding them,another four smaller ones.Even nowadays,I'm not completly sure about what my cutie mark exactly means,but I can tell you when it first appeared...It appeared one day,while I was at the school.She drinks another sip of cider before continuing.We were leaving the school after a hard day of work,and,on the way to home,me and my friends were assaulted by a thief.They were conpletly scared but,for some reason,i wasn't.I approached him,and I talked with him....She drank half of the mug of cider.Even nowadays,i'm not entirely sure about what i've said to him,but,when I ended from talking with him,he left us alone,and,a while after,I discovered that the thief who assaulted us was on the jail.The police said that they were confused.He came in front of them,and he said that he wanted to confess his crimes,because he felt that he needed to redeem his crimes.When I discovered that,i've deducted that I had something to do with all that,and,om that moment,my cutie mark appeared....She ordered an apple pie before continuing.My special talent,for some reason,is to,connect with another living things's minds,and to change their opinions.For me,is like if I could easily develop empathy with everypony,or even every living thing..

Hmmm...maybe there's something about you Lightwing, a connection to other ponies on a different level. It's like... she turned her head to the window and looked as the starts were starting to come out with the sunset... The sun and moon are so different to each other, but when the sun starts to go down...the stars connect with it, helping it to go down as the moon rises to meet with them. You...like the stars, connect ponies together...just as the stars connect the sun with the moon, and the moon with the sky!

 

Oh but... She squeed in embrassment and rubbed her head, sorry I'm probably being too philisophical for your liking... I think thats what your cutiemark might mean, well to me anyway. That's a special talent you got there Lightwing.

Thanks for the extra cider btw! Appleloosa makes good cider and all but nothing like Apple Acers! She sips eagerly and puts it down, revealing an apple foam formed on her upper lip. She licked off eagerly then stuck her nose back in the mug again before pulling out to continue.

 

I honestly never knew my talents would lead me to what I am today... It was crazy that I fell in love with a dragon...Now that I look back that should have been a red flag of things to come... If it weren't for my husband, I wouldn't have understood the full meaning to love your neighbors...whether they are pony, gryphon or dragon. If it's one thing he's taught me, love is never impossible!

Sometimes,love can be found on the most unexpected places....She looked again at the stars...How they slowly move,how they seem that they move,just for you...We still don't know a lot about the world.We think that we do,but,the truth is that we're like at the beggining.We just know Equestria,but,outside?Nothing...It could be a living jungleit could be that there're more ponies that we thought...But,unless a brave pony dares to cross those mountains or the sea who surround us,we'll never know....She drank more from her mug.Sorry for being soo philosophical about that theme.The thing is that,we. can't know what the world had prepaired for every one of us...You found the love where you never thinked that you're going to find it,and that made you happy,isn't?

More happy then I can put into words, she sipped the remaining of her cider, sighed and then looked around the tavern. Listen to us, we're talking like old mares... We should be knocking up the town, do some shopping, or order some ice cream at Sugar Cube Corner at least...yet... meh... She pushed her mug back and forth a bit, all I can think about is getting more cider and enjoying my time with my husband, while talking to an a friend who I met under dire circumstances...

 

Such irony isn't it? She grinned and ordered two more rounds for them both. But enough with the philosphics, I'm just happy to be back here in Ponyville... I've done my traveling for a whole years worth! Going all the way across the sea to the East Gryphon Empire is no fly over the town. And don't let me begin to tell you the journey over the mountains to the North, passed the Crystal Empire. It's cold and dark and a dreary place...but the wyvern dragon clans love it there. Which brings me to a curious question. What do you do for a living?

the center of the table, It hovers there pulsating with a soft glow.

Well my mother and step father lived in Appleloosa and money was tight, I had a hard time finding jobs back in my early mare days. My step father is an earth mustang paint pony who works on building wagons and fixing electronics and air conditions. Dunno if you heard of him, Shy Hammer? And my mother became one of the local nurses there. I myself took on foal sitting duties from time to time. It wasn't till I realized I wanted to follow a dream to find true love, that I would eventually lead me to Canterlot...where I'd spot the dragon of my dreams...

 

She drifted off for a second or two, thinking back to when she was mocked at the Grand Galloping Gala for being a poor pegasus mare from Appleloosa. To seeing that dark black shadow, creating red and blue neon northern lights in front of the moon...her desperate flight in the cold wind to find him...and their first encounter with each other that would eventually lead to their marriage...She shook her head, shuuing away the memories and refocused her attention.

 

I didn't have much money on me when I came to Canterlot, just enough for a room, a bit of food and enough to buy a ticket for the Grand Galloping Gala. Then I met Night Lights and money was never an issue for us. It's more of an object really. However he does know the benefits to working and actually teaches an extra elective class for Ponyville's young students, in simply dragon lore! I tend to take up artwork and selling it through a local here in Ponyville, not really showing up in pony to do it myself to avoid the extra attention. She sipped her drink again, licking off the foam and smiled to Lightwing, heartly enjoying the small chit chat.

She suddenly spotted the stallion approach them and immediatly made herself as small as possible, hiding her alicorn tributes under her hood and looking as boring as possible. But when the stallion laid the gem on the table, she couldn't help but boggle, the sparkle of the gem bouncing off her eyes.

 

I don't believe I've seen a gem like that before... I would know, my husband collects gems for his foo- I mean for a living! She quickly hide the fact her husband eats gems, knowing it would give off he's a dragon, and not all ponies were comfortable with that. Are there special magical qualities to it?

overhearing the conversation I think this is a great way to drum up business, so he walks over to the trio half drunk and casually asks "could I interest you pony folk in a few hats? I can make any form of hats for anypony or anything!!" he waited until they gave a reply, quite pleased with himself
