If that video did not persuade to join the dark side, I guess you're only option is obliteration.  :okiedokielokie:

Grey Jedi is best Jedi. They are not limited by dogmatic rules of the Order, but do not allow themselves to be swallowed by their own hatred and anger to become evil and ugly monstrosities like the Sith. Grey Jedi do what they think is right, even if it gets them into trouble somewhere further down the road.

Like Asajj Ventress form the clone wars right?

Or like the game Jedi outcast?

I always prefer the good guys. I always go for the path of peace, inner contemplation... Until someone throws the first punch. Then I'm going to get ballistic with extreme prejudice. I think that I would prefer to be in the Jedi side with some grains of "don't get in my face or I'll plant you in the ground". Or maybe a Sith with a "let's talk about it first" attitude.

I feel that a Jedi takes too long to do anything, and a Sith doesn't wait enough. The Jedi sees everything around him as a manifestation of something he is a part of, therefore he must understand it and try no to interfere too much. The Sith sees himself as the main character of his own story, so everything is a tool to reach a goal.

The way I see it, both try to separate what can't be separated. Is like trying to separate emotion from reason. The Jedi fall on Descartes' Error and the Sith seems to be using his ideology as an excuse to force everything around him to his will. I prefer to embrace my nature, while I still keep it under control.

For dumb, self-important fics about mythology, ponies and fascist griffons that can't figure friendship out.

And I'm just getting started.

@,

Very interesting take of viewing both as an extreme, which they often are. Obi-wan's confrontation with Anakin on Mustafar comes to mind. Now bearing Anakin's (needlessly dark, and cartoonishly evil) actions, Obi-wan isn't exactly being open to hearing Anakin's side either. Just "only a sith deals in absolutes" when Obi-wan is just as set on killing him if he won't agree to be on his respective side.

How would you reconcile the Jedi philosophy with the seeming inaction it often results in?

I say both of them are right.

I have an odd belief of morals.

My belief is that morality does not exist, and neither do morals, right, or wrong.

Think about it, if a kid grows up in a cannibal tribe, it is fine to eat people, his intentions are not ill and he perceives that he isn't doing anything wrong.

However we wouldn't be to happy if he came over here and ate some ladys baby in the airport because we believe his action to be wrong.

In short, I don't believe good and evil exist, we made them up in order to justify ourselves and incriminate those who do not accept our justification as reasonable.

that being said I think i'll side with the mandolorians.

@,

What, a few Sith Lords getting into a petty "lightsaber measuring" contest? It's certainly a good fight, but I don't see how it would convince one to follow the way of the Sith.

Remember, the Dark Side may often be espoused by the Sith as their most valuable tool, but like many things to a Sith, it is a means, not an end unto itself. Those that do embrace the Dark Side so totally that it becomes all they are, are no more Sith than they are Jedi.

It really depends on a matter of when instead of why if you'd ask me.

Both the clone wars and the civil war was the worst time to be a Jedi in my opinion. Your best timing to be a Jedi was during the old republic.

Sith.

Screw the Jedi and everything they stand for. They're basically trying to erase their emotion, and I personally hate that. Anyone who knows me knows that I can be passionate and emotional often, and I know I'd never be able to control my emotions even if I tried. If I were A sith I'd probably be really good with the force, all I'd have to do is focus all of my sadness and rage into it and bam: unlimited power.

And for the record, sith aren't evil. Just driven by a different force (lol) then Jedi

I say let your emotion run free, they're what guides you and drives you. If there weren't emotion, life would truly be unbearable. Hel, I'd even miss sadness.

@@ninjamon102938,

I can tell you from experience that learning the hard way isn't always the best way. A constructive environment or a personal teaching can go a long way. Of course, that really depends on the person. Some won't learn if you kick them in the dirt, for others, that's the only way they'll learn.

In my head, the problem with the Jedi, ever since the Old Republic, is that they are isolated from the reality of the normal person since they, in fact, isolate themselves from the rest of the universe. Their code urges them to control their impulses (in fact, the opposite of what the Sith should do). In doing that, the jedi separate themselves from the normal person. So, what do they do if they happen to be confronted, personally, by the problems of a normal person? Well... Anakin is the result of this. Palpatine understood this and turned him into a pawn. The jedi never really saw what hit them.

The New Jedi Order let's the jedi be more human by allowing them to have families, offspring. To me it seems to the answer.

lol that was one of the worst times to become a Jedi. xD

I'd also add the Great Sith War to that list.

You know, Exar Kun, Jedi holocaust, the Devastation of Ossus...

Yeah the whole timeline kind of sucks for all sides. For once I would actually like to see what that Galaxy would look like in peace time. Guess it would kind of defeat the purpose of the title then.

Well, it is a huge Galaxy, full of diverse cultures that don't agree on everything.

@Steel, was this a quote? because it sounds like something Anakin would say

Nope, just my own personal experience from boot camp. Some guys get smoked and just keep smiling, others give out, but they don't learn. (I was in the latter category.  )

Yeah, that and during the Clone wars the Jedi were seen more as weapons of war instead of peace keepers and most people did not trust them. The dark side also clouded a lot of their judgment during that time.

The Clone wars was time period had  created a lot of conflict between the Jedi, most Jedi ether became corrupt or turned to the dark side during this time. The Jedi counsel wasn't seen as what it use to be... the force was out of balance...

@,

Actually you know what? Forget the rest of the galaxy! I would like to see a Force summit. The Jedi and Sith philosophers come together, and establish a colony that both of them could live in separate but equal settlements. Let the rest of the galaxy get on without both of them for a change!

(Mortis would actually be perfect for such a colony. Strong in both sides of the Force, and only the Force sensitive can reach it.)

This was attempted on Tython during the pre-Republic era. Both, the followers of Ashla and Bogan coexisted peacefully until the outbreak of the Force Wars, and the First Great Schism.

If we are talking about the views as you see them, I do not know which faction I fall into; however, being a Jedi or Sith is not always a good or bad thing.

I just happen to see the world from both sides of the spectrum; it is both a tool and something to preserve. Emotions are something that, if kept in check, can be used as a great fuel. The problem with most Sith is that they allow their emotions and egos to go unchecked.

I myself do everything with passion, yet with enough restraint to understand limitations. I also find that before I even do anything, I take a "Jedi" approach to it, researching and perhaps taking that step away to analyze it.

"Time is just an illusionary factoid that all natural things are bound to. It has the power to crumble even the mightiest of mountains into little more than dust, yet if it is an illusion, why is this so? Because people waste a lot of time, only wishing they had more. Little do people realize an inescapable fact: Time governs those who wish they had more of it. By wishing you could use it better, you govern time, and you can get all the time you'll ever need." — Starfall, Quillwaver
