I am having a hard time picking a genre myself. If we got a legitimate video game of MLP FIS...What would you prefer would be a fun genre to play in? What would be a great genre for marketing and selling a game for a series like this?

What? No options for platformers?

Out of the options you have given I have to go with an action/adventure. I feel it would fit the best. Especially considering the show has adventure episodes.

Twilight is best pony.

Why hello MLPForums! What have ya been up to?

I am sorry about that lol. I haven't played my fair share of platformers in quite a long time. But action adventure in a seems to be the best option. You have minimal load times and you have a vast world to explore and have more freedom in a 3D environment for a franchise like MLP.

I can see it being sort of like an old Spyro Game. That would work out really well. Start as Twilight, then use other ponies for certain kinds of levels. Dash would be for those speedway challenges. So on and so fourth. Battle a boss at the end of each world. Pretty much exactly like a Spyro game only with ponies instead.

I don't have that much experience in the genre myself but something in the vein of a Japanese Visual novel (I think that's what they are called) would make sense. Since your typical episode of FiM follows the set-up of: Conflict- characters interact to figure out solution- conflict resolution involving theme of friendship.

I know there's a place you walked
Where love falls from the trees
My heart is like a broken cup
I only feel right on my knees.
I spit out like a sewer hole
Yet still receive your kiss
How can I measure up to anyone now
After such a love as this?

I kinda liked the idea of a fighting game like with Fighting is Magic. That apparently was forced to change to be only fan characters or something though. :(

I'm not picky about what the genre would be so long as it's not minigame hell or a kart racer that makes no actual sense in existing. There's no context for it.

If they did do an RPG for it I would hope they'd do something that involved having all the characters in battle. I'm not overly fond of games that give you three slots but ten characters. Having them all available in battle is the better route.

Either an RPG or an MMO. Party play is recommended for either.

My thoughts exaclty.......tbh, those two genres would fit it perfectly.

BTW, I laughed when I saw FPS and TPS as part of the choices

Well, a brony would pick something with action or fighting. But more than likely, Hasbro would make something for the target audience. Like point and click, or a platformer with no enemies and bosses, kind of like adventure ponies.

A cross between an MMO and a sandbox sounds good to me, I think the idea of being able to go around and explore Equestria sounds awesome.

The reason I wouldn't want action/fighting is just because that is such and overused genre of music IMO, plus who wouldn't want to be a pony and go exploring Equestria!? I sure know I would! :yay:

Well the fim app is already made but yeah something simple and kid friendly considering hasbro doesn't know what they're dealing with.

But in my opinion

PONIES SHOOTING PONIES!!!! PONIES SHOOTING PONIES!!!!!

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it save equistria with its five candy coloured friends and shoot rainbows at bad guys using their necklaces and tiara unless you're celestia
