First day of work tomorrow after a week. I work for one more week and then I'm on PTO again. Kind of wish I didn't have to work there anymore. I'm worth a lot more than what I have to deal with there, additionally it pays bills and that's it. I appreciate my higher-ups being encouraging and constructive with me, however. Certainly hope I can be through with there in less than a couple of months, but I'm very very doubtful. Even that's too much for me, really, given I've pushed my personal deadline by years. Way overdue. None of my peers had to wait that long to be through with their investment or had better things to fall back on.

I wish the next 10 years would heavily compensate for my sacrifices, and then some. But, I'll be forever confined to my "number" when it comes to ranking and priority. Nothing else, ever.

That sucks bud. I'm trying to get a better job to. When your out on the hunt for something better, the days just feel like they drag on don't they....

I just wish my field wasn't so seniority based. I basically cap out based on the day I join. I'll have plenty of 20s-year olds with more seniority than me. Makes me occasionally rethink if I really want to have a career where I can only advance by aging. Do I really want to age though...

If I was 3 years younger I'd be mostly satisfied, but... I ain't.

Unfortunately we can't stop the aging process, regardless of how much we may want too. In my workplace burn out seems to be a common factor in people leaving. Oh sure the bosses are (usually) nice to you and so are the other employees, course they have to. We have an effective union, which I used (got a really shitty boss fired AND a terrible CO who followed him out the door too). But most people can't leave cause of the rising cost of living. So they leave later and later in life, some in their 50's or 60's form the look of it. Though it could also be the burn out too.
