Sombra and the Alicorn Amulet

Considering how the princesses all wear amulets of some kind (Twilight being the most prominent example), and him being a king, is there a chance Sombra originally possessed the Alicorn Amulet?

That would definitely be a cool interpretation! Like if I recall, the eye aura thing Trixie got when using the magic of the amulet is similar to the eye aura thing Sombra had in his few appearances. It would make sense that his magical power is really corrupting and aggressive.

It would make some sense, as the amulet itself does look a lot like him, and the eye effect trixie gets from use of it is similar to sombra's magic. Also, it would give him a powerful tool, to amplify his own already extremely powerful magic, in order to give him more of an equal footing against the rainbow deus ex machina.

I think Sombra possessed the Alicorn Amulet before he was corrupted by the Amulet, and the more I want to know about some backstories the better.

Could be, but most likely not. If it was his, then it would still be with him when he got free or if he lost it after the battle with Celestia and Luna they would have taken it or had it destroyed.

On second thought, his crystal magics are potent enough. The amulet would just be overkill.

Probably. The fandom says that he's Celestia and Luna's bro. He might've come across the amulet, wore it, BAM evil! idk.

Well, this certainly ties nicely into one of my other head-canons. The bare bones version is that "dark magic" and "Alicorn magic" are exactly the same. Alicorn magic is like Unicorn magic, but more powerful, and that power has potential to corrupt the user if not used in moderation. Combining this with the idea that the Alicorn Amulet belonged to Sombra, there is the possibility that Sombra used or, at the very least, possessed the Amulet as a way to boost his power to Alicorn levels, and because he couldn't handle the power, he became corrupted. When Trixie obtained the Amulet, she was corrupted by it, but because she was either not using it at the same level or not using it for long enough, she did go completely over the threshold, which is why she reverted to acting not only normal, but also apologetic when the amulet was finally removed.
