My idea is that maybe they will make a more modern day My Little Pony just like the past series was more to date with that time. I personally wouldn't want to see a new generation of My Little Pony since Gen four is doing as great as it is. Wind Chaser 4,768 April 2, 2014 Share April 2, 2014 This iteration of the franchise will be around until at least 2018-2019, keeping with the pattern of a new generation every decade (with the exception of the abortion that was G2. I hope that G5 continues on the strong characterization and storytelling of G4 but adds better merchandising and a less rigid format for the show, one where the show changes to accommodate more organic story ideas rather than more commercialistic toy ideas, but that's wishful thinking, as Hasbro has every intention of running a merch-first franchise rather than media-first. If G5 is to be a reboot of the franchise, the worst that can happen is being a play-by-play rehash of FiM, or a return to the careless disregard to quality control of G3. Now that I've given the best possible situation and the worst possible situation, speaking realistically I would most like to see changes on the surface, including in design and characters, to distinguish it from the other generations, but to leave most other elements the same. A connection to G4 through continuity would be a plus, but not to leave it completely the same or rehash it. Pony space adventure!!!!!!.... At least thats my hope..... It did well in Sonic... Nightmare Moon will be making another appearance. Luna will transform at will to assist in a fight against a powerful villain. 2. Lauren Faust will be writing an episode. 3. An OC from an MLP analyst will be made cannon. 4. PinkiePie will have a "colt friend". I guess that's the equivalent to a boyfriend. I got a question....why post the spoilers? Scootaloodle 1,623 April 2, 2014 Share April 2, 2014 Well it could go lots of ways: who knows? the next gen could be like G4 then again it could be something entirely different, maybe not ever a cartoon. I often wondered what it would be like, if they did a silver screen movie remake of Escape from Midnight Castle (the G1 movie). But with a new script, new pony characters and with CGI meets live action (like Alvin Chipmunks movies) with the human being portrayed by real actors, real filmed locations and the ponies animated in 3D lifelike with CGI. But gen 4 has been successful so they may just do a spin off of that as opposed to some other idea that isn’t like G4, (wouldn’t that make it G4.5? or something). I know about Dr Wolf, and making the video sound serious does not make this any more true. Did you see the dates when any of this stuff came out? BTW, the Kimi Sparkle cameo was a dead giveaway to me. If the show staff wanted to include prominent fandom figures in the show, they can do better than that. I'd kill myself if anything from Sherclop Pones becomes canon in the show, I'd call it the four horsemen of the show's demise if four things from them are canonized. Lauren Faust said it is logistically impossible, as there is much legal wrangling involved, however doing Sibsy's OC was easy as it was a favor for someone working on the show. I actually wouldn't mind it so much if they were kept as either background characters or cameos, however there are so many OCs in the fandom, not to mention the drama it would incite over the favoritism it implies if it was done. You bet your ass I will start a crusade if anything Sherclop Pones is even mentioned in canon, as would Voice of Reason. To say the least neither of us are fans of their work. Shanks 10,816 April 3, 2014 Share April 3, 2014 Hopefully it will maintain the same quality that G4 has, Hasbro has made a couple of bone headed moves but for the most part seems to know to let their team do their jobs. Whether this will carry over into the next generation or not is a good question but this season has had some rather discouraging signs with a couple of episodes that flat out sucked, far too many eh ones, pretending twilicorn never happened which albeit isn't as bad as it could isn't exactly the answer to that fiasco. And of course there is the increasingly obvious overuse of deus ex machina and all the out of character moments. I am not saying "we are doomed, abandon all hope" but if these trends continue into season 5 then G4 may not end on as good of a note as it should. Even if G4 ends up going downhill that dosen't guarantee that G5 will suck as G4 did come after G3 which is regarded by many as the worst generation. It is simply too soon to tell. Like one that is more like whatever Samurai Jack would be rated at? T.V 13 I think?
