general media Most tragic character in history

I know I made a similar thread, but it's for video game characters, and I haven't seen any boards for general characters.

 

 

For me, the most tragic character has to be Mariko from Elfen Lied. She was abandoned by her father, and even when she finally meets her father and is about to embrace him, he points a gun at her and tells her he has to kill her. Eventually, he decides to disobey orders and make amends with her, and picks her up and starts leaving. Just after he tells her that her mother loves her very much, a bomb goes off and kills them both

The most tragic character to me would have to be, Peter Parker.

 

To add more with his parents dying in a plane crash, another role model for him to look up to in his uncle, Ben was gunned down on the same night he was trying to earn money. Pretty sad.

I think Eddy from Ed Edd n Eddy could be considered a tragic character. You see, the reason for him acting like a jerk was actually revealed: he was physically abused by his older brother. He also thought that acting like his brother would make him cool, so that's why he always acts like a jerk in the series--when in reality, he seems to be very insecure. Honestly, I feel very sad watching him sometimes...

Batman, his parents were murdered in front of him as a young child which haunts him to this very day.

If that wasn't enough one of his best friends Harvey Dent went completely insane and became Two Face which is something he has felt overwhelming guilt over.
