First off, I LOVE Portal 2!

I haven't played the first one, but the second I bet is the best!

I've won the game on single player.

I did at one point have to cheat and look at a walkthrough.

The soundtrack for the game is great!

Here's one of my favorites!

I have to admit I was seriously shedding tears at the end of the game during the credits.

It's just...

...such a great game!

I told my friend that I thought GLaDOS' voice was hot until he showed me the old woman who played her voice.

*facehoof*

Portal 2 also has decent graphics.

Plus the ending...

...was the BEST!

So please discuss Portal 2 on this thread!

Enjoy!

As someone who's played both the first and second one, I'd say that the second one is better, especially the multiplayer. I played through the story mode around 8 times at least and played the multiplayer around 3 times, lots of fun if I do say so myself. Despite my name, when I first played it I actually hated it but decided to give it another chance and here I am. It's probably my favorite game. :D Nice to know you enjoyed it though, we could always use more Portal fans.

Ah, that game. The humor, puzzles, and atmosphere all worked together wonderfully. Cave Johnson is hilarious, so is GLaDOS and Wheatley. The multiplayer is also fantastic, then ending,

when you open the human vault, I was fearing the worst, knowing glados

was very satisfying. The music was great, all around, one of my favorite games to play. The community testing chambers on steam also gave the game virtually unlimited replay value. Kudos valve. Kudos.

I liked Portal 2, sort of, but I preferred the first one by a long shot. Hated the goop, lol.

What is the goop? Do you mean gel? I think it added more versatility, and "we haven't really nailed down what this element is yet, but it is very lively, and does not like the human skeleton"-cave johnson

Edit: in your defense, still alive was a pretty great song. And companion cubes were fun.

One of the best in the past 20 years, though I feel like the first really needs to be played to truly enjoy the second. The first is short, seeing how it was really only meant as a test and Valve never expected it to take off, but it's very much worth it. I loved how in the second one you re-run several of the tests, and the chambers are all overgrown and filthy instead of the spotless white of the first. It's also great seeing GLaDOS evolve throughout the first one. J.K. Simmons though, god I love that guy. Getting him to play Cave was pure genius.

I've never gotten to try out the multiplayer, though it does look interesting from what I've seen.

I think it added more versatility

Well yeah, while that may be true, I just had a more troubling time completing the game than Portal 1, but I can understand it being an upgrade and all. I just thought the basic mechanics of Portal 1 was nearly flawless, and the gel took a little too much thinking. For me anyways, Portal was a newer type of game for me to play, I don't usually come near puzzle games. So the confusion may be because I rarely play them, but I thought Portal 1 was so fun, I could literally speed run it.

I've completed both portal games and while I enjoyed them, I didn't think they were amazing. They were too short and didn't have good replayability since you can memorise the solutions easily and all the fun of working out the puzzles is gone. Good for a single (few hour long) play-through but not multiple plays.

I loved the first one for the simplicity and the humor was great, but the second one is definitely a LOT better. I've beaten it at least 5 or so times and the co-op, and I've played quite a few community tests on the PC version, I particularly liked 12 angry tests or whatever it was called.

For me, the shortness made them good as is, and like I said I find multiple playthroughs fun, if mostly for the witty humor and dialog. Also, if you've got a decent PC, you can play community maps and get more out of the game. I've spent a bit solving some puzzles and some of the maps are very well made.
