Misha followed her inside the building. "Only for good you say? Now where's the fun in that?" He asked back with a chuckle as the trapdoor opened. "I've always thought that trapdoors were intriguing. Very good tricks to hide with, I've even had to hunt down a few people that used them. Definitely some of the more annoying tasks I've had to perform." He explained as he waited for her to continue her journey into the building.

Lily lands the plane a few blocks away from the warehouse, not wanting to inadvertently alert anyone to its position by landing a plane on top of it. She climbs out and gestures for Sayaa to do the same, "Alright, we're on foot for the last few blocks..." She says before posting 'We're a few blocks away, arriving momentarily.' Into the chat room.

Sayaa happily follows her and ignores the incoming message boop, and hugs her wooden doll to her chest. She smiles at the plane, and then follows Lily to the warehouse, where she spots two of their party waiting. It's almost like we're playing a real-life MMO. Of course... I can die here... And can't online. Wait, does this mean Lily has my credit card numbers? I never bought anything with my phone, and any computer I've used is far away, but....

Zeke wanted to stop off at a motel because of how tired he was, but instead he stopped off at a gas station and bought a few energy drinks. Wow, science has come a long way, I remember when energy drinks made me feel awkward, and fidgety. Now I just feel as if I have had a great night's sleep. 

Zeke continued on the highway for three hours until he reached Novarius. The city reminded him of a more organize, more modernized version of Vertlyn. Instead of there being little to no police activity (as with Vertlyn because it was run by an organized crime syndicate), this City was full of security. There were cameras on almost every block. Police cars were easily spotted, every now and then, patrolling the streets. It was a lot like Vertlyn used to be five years ago before the Crux gang took over. 

Zeke followed the address from his GPS on his phone, which led him to the downtown area, much like the area that the Crux gang had taken for their headquarters in Vertlyn. Zeke followed the streets, careful to obey the traffic laws so as not to be pulled over by the police. Eventually he reached the area and came to a stop. Zeke noticed a few cars were parked at this warehouse, both the cars were very extravagant which could only mean that Misha and Hikari were already here. Zeke pulled up next the cars and put his car in park before turning off the engine and retrieving the keys. 

Zeke exited the car and popped the trunk pulling out his dufflebag  that was full of all the things he had brought with him from his home. Assuming this was the safe house, Zeke thought that he could probably change his clothes (as he was still wearing the mountain gear) and maybe even get a shower here. He also retrieved the alcohol he purchased at Vern's gas station, and placed it in his duffle. 

Zeke walked to the entrance of the warehouse and attempted to go inside, only to find it locked. Zeke knocked on the door a few times, but no one came to open it. Great, now what? Zeke thought. As he finished his thought his birthmark activated. Using the light from the floodlight that illuminated the front door, Zeke extended his finger using the light as a plasma torch. He cut through the lock on that the card reader connected to the door. Boy... I hope that wasn't expensive Zeke thought. He then pushed his way through the door. It was a bit dark but Zeke held out is hand and sustained a sphere of light that illuminated the surrounding area. The warehouse was full of boxes and shipping containers. At first Zeke had no inclination on where he should go. this is the correct address right? Zeke thought. Of course it was the correct address, as the cars parked outside had to be his team member's cars. But then he saw a weak light coming from a trap door next to a container that appeared to have been moved recently.He opened the trap door to find a metal stairway illuminated by some florescent lighting and followed it down where he spotted Misha and Hikari.

"Hey guys, so this is the place, eh? Pretty high tech. Oh... I had to melt down the lock on the outside of the building... I hope no one gets angry." Zeke said.

Lily smiles at the rush of data from all around. While Novarius was known for its extensive surveillance systems, cloaking herself and Sayaa from the cameras and motion detectors was child's play for her. More importantly for her, being back in civilization meant access to hundreds of high-bandwidth internet connections. Tapping into them with a thought, she connected to her secured network, then accessed the systems in her workshop back home. In a flurry of data and images, she begins prototyping a new weapon to replace her destroyed sonic gun. It wouldn't be done for a while, but it meant that she would have something to defend herself with soon. After seeing Zeke walk into the marked address, easily identifiable by the three overly expensive vehicles parked in front, she enters just after him. A quick wave of her hand reconstructs the lock, just in case it was important, then walks down the staircase to find the group, "Hello everyone." She says quickly.

Hikari heard footsteps behind her before Zeke said anything, but when he said something about burning the card scanning device outside, she was a bit shocked. "Y-You what? Couldn't you have knocked or just called us?!" She took a deep breath and sighed. "Forget it, it's fine.." She said before she noticed Lily and Sayaa behind her walking into the warehouse. "Now that everyone is here, lets get going!" She said before she shuffled down the stairs which led to a huge chemical-filled lab room with refrigerators that stored all sorts of things like organs and a few doors around which led to different rooms. "He should be around here somewhere.." Hikari said as she looked around.

"You know, it's not a big deal Hikari... It's better than smashing a window at least. I bet Lily could fix it, or even make the card reader better." Sayaa was having a hard time suppressing her instincts to find supplies and snag them. For instance, she knew that a warehouse probably had valuables that could be fenced or pawned for money, which could be traded for food. Similarly to Misha's front pocket or huge freaking gun. But they were to heavy for her, and too heavy or big to be swiped without a distraction. Petty thievery is only acceptable when in dire need Sayaa. Are you in dire need? Her stomach growls a little. Don't I still have the twenty off the nice cab driver who let me stay with him a bit? She checked her wallet and confirmed she had twenty dollars. She would beg to be taken to food later. Right now she was following her rather awkward party of treasure hunters.

Lily smiles at the various things in the various rooms, mentally taking stock of everything that's inside in case there's something she can use. At Hikari's statement she shrugs, "Relax, the lock you were using was frightfully easy to exploit anyway, all you had to do was run a 20hz 40 amp current through it and it would flip into debug mode... I fixed it for you, but Dr. Light here was doing you a favor by destroying it. Anyway, who is this guy we're meeting?"

Misha slowly walked down the stairs and into the chemical lab. He viewed the organs from a safe distance and simply waited, sticking close to the group until something entertaining happened. He twirled his cane around, careful that it didn't slip out of his hand and break something expensive or gross. "He seems like he'll be an interesting fellow." Misha commented.

A huge set of doors ahead of them started to open slowly as a semi-tall man that was around his 40's revealed himself. He was wearing a white lab coat with a few stains of blood that looked pretty fresh from the looks of it. "I don't suppose you guys are here to arrest me, are you?" Mercury said with a calm voice before she noticed Hikari standing within the crowd. "What brings you to my lab, Hikari?" He asked. Hikari decided to jump straight to the point and said "Would you mind if we used the warehouse above your lab as a place for my friends to stay?" Mercury stood there, examining every single one of them before he replied.. "If you can promise me that you won't bring me any trouble, I'm fine with it."

"Whatever you say, doc," Sayaa said with the practiced charm of efficient lying. "Just wondering, why put a lab under a warehouse in the city? Wouldn't it be safer to be in the country side? And potentially more efficient? You don't exactly look like a practitioner." She jinxed his clothes into looking like normal doctor clothes. Which is to say, sterile, fresher, and lacking bloodstains.

Lily shrugs, "I'm not sure what kind of research he does, but if it's anything like what I do it would be a lot harder to justify high-energy current draw and shipments of supplies to the countryside..." She turns to the man, "Interesting choice of decor, what sort of things are you researching?" She asks in genuine curiosity, subconsciously micromanaging the construction back at her workshop.

"The reason why I decided to do my research under a warehouse located within Novarius is because people are after me, but the security here is pretty tough around here, so I can work in peace." Mercury stated as he continued. "My research isn't something I wish to share with others." He replied Lily before he turned around and said "Enjoy your stay." as he walked back into his room, shutting the doors behind him.

 

Hikari looked at the others and said "Lets get out of here before he locks us in here and uses us as test subjects.." before running up the stairs and back to the entrance of the trapdoor.

Misha watched as the man walked away with a curious look. "What a charming fellow... doesn't really seem to be the talkative type..." Misha commented as he followed Hikari back up the stairs. "Ah yes, my favorite quality in a safe haven, the risk of getting dissected." He said sarcastically as he reached the top of the stairs. "Nothing is more comforting than that right there."

"Oh it's not that bad. The right anesthetic and you won't feel a thing. As long as they put it all back correctly and don't take anything important..." Sayaa frowns, "Ermm, I mean.... Yes, dissection bad! Never donated organs. Nope." She couphs and quickly leaves the laboratory. "If anyone needs me, to bad. I'll be settling things down in my ethereal plain." She opens what looks like a portal and disappears into the bubble.

Oh great, just what I needed. Zeke thought to himself, All I wanted was to find a headquarters for our team so that we could possibly rest while planning what we do next. And all we got is a stupid key, a psycho scientist, and a high level wind esper who is afraid of the person she led us to in the first place. 

Zeke closed his eyes and sighed, rubbing the back of his head with his left hand. 

"Welp, I guess I should go after her," Zeke said to the remaining group before jogging up the steps to follow Hikari. 

Zeke exited the trap door and saw Hikari a bit ahead of him. 

"Hey." Zeke said as he approached her. "So... I mean... I realize that the scientist guy down there is a bit of a loony case, but do we really have the luxury of choosing where we make our headquarters at? I mean, if we do that is fine and all, but..." Zeke realized he was trailing off, "All I want is to take a shower and go to sleep. That energy drink I had earlier is wearing off and I am starting to not feel good. So if we aren't making this our headquarters, I suggest we all go to a nice hotel or something"

"Well, there's a lot of hotels located nearby but I don't think I can afford it. If someone here is willing to dish out some of their money for a hotel to stay at, that would be nice." She replied Zeke before she commented on what he said. "And Mercury isn't crazy, he's just a bit creepy at times, that's all. He's a nice person if you get to know him."

Misha exited the stairway and heard Hikari and Zeke. "Well you two are in luck I guess." He said as he walked over, pulling out a black leather wallet from his coat. "I suppose the cyber terrorist we got with us might be able to shell out some money too. But I think this would be more than enough to cover whatever you guys need." He said pulling out around 3000 notes, mostly consisting of 100 note slips, and handed it over to Hikari. "Buy yourself something nice, m'lady." He added jokingly with a doff of an invisible hat. "Make sure to disperse it well, its all I got on me without having to go to an ATM."

 

He fiddled with his one gold ear piercing on his left ear as he thought out loud. "I'm probably going to go out shopping for a bit. Someone should send me a message once they've decided on the hotel we'll be staying in for now. I don't really care what it is, but since it seems I'm financing it, something fancy would be nice." He finished with a chuckle as he moved to the door, the lock now fixed. 

 

He turned around halfway out the door. "Oh... I almost forgot, silly me. If you guys want, I could shell out some more notes when I'm back if we want to buy some furniture for this place. Beds, tables, chairs, couches, hopefully some entertainment. That is unless we want to be spending our time roasting crickets on a stick on top of one of the uhh... boxes over there while coming up with plans." He said with a point before he left.

Lily chuckles, "Three thousand is pretty standard for someone of his stature... Do you seriously need money?" She asks, not really caring whether Sayaa responds, before turning to the group, "I'll be right back, I just need to visit an ATM." She walks out, once again blinding the cameras and sensors throughout the town to her presence, and finds one within a few blocks of the warehouse. Surprisingly for Noverius, it doesn't have a facial recognition camera, which she decides makes her life easier. Placing a hand on the machine, she dives deep into the network, looking through every account the bank has for rounding errors, misplaced dollars, harmless things like that. With a smirk she gathers every note she can, money no one will even know is gone, and sets it to withdraw that amount. The ATM spits out a string of garbled and corrupted characters before ejecting a large stack of hundred-note bills, easily totaling fifteen thousand notes or more. She slides the stack of bills into her pocket and walks back to the group, then takes it out again, "Money will not be an issue. However, I probably shouldn't do what I did again with the same bank for a couple weeks, or they may get suspicious why their ATM is so empty despite no withdrawals being made."

"Without directly robbing a bank at laser point, my powers wont help us get money. Not unless I put on a killer light show on the side of the street with a hat at my feet" Zeke chuckled at the thought. 

"Oh well" Zeke shrugged, "As long as we are a team, I suppose I will be freeloading off of you." Zeke let out a giant chuckle

Zeke looked at Misha

"Maybe I had you pegged wrong. Here i thought you were a egocentric narcissistic psychopath with a God complex. Looks like, you have a soft side too." Zeke said patting Misha on the shoulder.

"I do have my good aspects sometimes." Misha commented back to Zeke before entered his car and drove off into the city. It took him a while, but he finally got his bearing for the city after visiting a few maps on the way. He eventually came to a stop and parked his car in front of a shopping mall. He left his cane in the car and locked it before he entered.

 

After a decent amount of time passed, Misha returned looking rather different. He figured that since he was going to be traveling with others and probably confronting others with intentions that don't always include death. He might as well switch into stuff slightly more low-profile: On his head Misha only had his one gold ear piercing on his left ear with his hair parted to the right. He had ditched the gold glasses and wore one gold chain necklace under all of his clothes. He wore a knee length dark navy double breasted wool coat with a almost black brown wool fur covering the inside collar. Besides that, it had black buttons and one wrist strap on each sleeve. And underneath he wore a dark navy suit jacket and white shirt. He let go of some of his accessories, but still kept his largest gold and onyx right on his right ring finger, gold watch with shiny black crocodile leather straps on his left wrist, and shiny black crocodile leather belt with gold buckle keeping up his slim matching dark navy dress pants. At the end he had on silk black socks and a pair of lace up dress shoes with pointed toe caps made out of the same shiny crocodile leather as his other items. 

 

Due to the amount of time he spent in the store it is probable that he made a few personal adjustments to some of his new stuff. He walked back to his black Bentley with a leather bag filled with his old stuff and placed it in the trunk of his car before he drove off back to the hideout, picking up a cheeseburger on the way.

"Without directly robbing a bank at laser point, my powers wont help us get money. Not unless I put on a killer light show on the side of the street with a hat at my feet" Zeke chuckled at the thought. 

"Oh well" Zeke shrugged, "As long as we are a team, I suppose I will be freeloading off of you." Zeke let out a giant chuckle

Zeke looked at Misha

"Maybe I had you pegged wrong. Here i thought you were a egocentric narcissistic psychopath with a God complex. Looks like, you have a soft side too." Zeke said patting Misha on the shoulder.  

Lily shrugs, "Your powers are over light correct? Could you bend the light around someone in order to make them effectively invisible? If so, we could probably pull off a bank heist together. I need physical access to one of the teller computers at a bank in order to access bank accounts and drain them, but if I tried I'd get caught before I could do anything of substance. However, if you could render me invisible, there's really no limit to how much money we could get for the group." She slides her bag off of her shoulder and begins setting up a small workstation while she waits for Zeke's response.

"Yes and no. My powers aren't really over light. It's going to sound pretty crazy... but I don't know what my powers are." Zeke said with a smile.

"I am not an esper. I don't even have a personal reality or the wherewithal to do the calculations needed for bending light. In fact... I am not even the one who manipulates the light. It just kind of happens, like an instinct. Sometimes it doesn't even work. I do know that every time I can use my powers my tattoo birthmark lights up. But luminomancy isn't the only thing that I can do. I also have enhanced reflexes, senses, and strength sometimes too." Zeke replied

Hikari pocketed the money and thanked Misha for his generosity. "I really appreciate it, Misha. I'll make sure I pick a fancy hotel for all of us to stay." She said before she looked over at Lily and pondered if she's just another criminal. "What's with all this bank-robbing business you're talking about?" Hikari questioned Lily.
